@@theghostofuchiha1496 In regards to his involvement in the production of "Dragon Ball", Stephen Chow explains, "There's many types of producers in a film production. My role as producer is in the form of a consultant. Besides providing a few opinions, there's really nothing much I do in terms of the work involved." As to which of his opinions were accepted (in the production process, Stephen hesitantly said "they didn't accept most of my feedback. Perhaps they didn't think it was suitable so that was why they didn't use any of my input. I suppose the production companies have their reasoning behind this. I don't mind it at all. After all, the decision making is up to the studios."

the film crew was so tight on budget that they couldn't film the last scene stephen had in mind with all those audience (this is a whole other story why the film had such a tight budget). Stephen came up with the idea that they would asked the public to come to the stadium to act as spectators for free in a 3 day shooting and they would get a chance to take photos with the stars. The response was overwhelming as seen.

Stephen Chow is just so all over the place in the best way with his films. Tons of heart, great comedy, brilliant action, it's all there. Hell, he even manages to take a story in a modern setting and still give it classical elements; the bit where Mui is heartbroken and the buns she makes becoming salty and bitter from her tears is exactly the kind of thing you'd see in an ancient myth or fable. Always makes me wish he had even more films to enjoy.

Still my favourite Stephen Chow’s movie ever! It never gets old even now.
My only complaint would be that I’d like to see more matches leading up to the final one. They’ve done a good job showing each members’ skills in different matches and even threw in some surprise opponents like the moustachioed girls team XD. It’s just that they’re so well done I feel like they haven’t shown enough!
Most people react to Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle (usually started from the latter), but there are still mountains of comedy gold mine from Stephen Chow and I highly recommend you two to check his older films out! One of my personal recommendations would be “Sixty Million Dollar Man”.

When you watched the Miramax version, 2 scenes was remove and 1 was altered from the original cut. #1 was young Golden Leg bribed Hung (young version of the Evil Team boss) and that was from the opening scene. #2 was originally just a conversation between Iron Leg(the MC) and Mui, no dance number from what I watched( just a translated VCD from the early days of disc media) and lastly #3 was the guy who was hit by ball in the stomach pukes(due to delayed unimaginable pain) scene was removed.

I like how there's some cross over actors between the two movies, the Iron head i'm pretty sure is the same actor as the guy in kung fu hustle who uses the iron rings and is the dry cleaning guy..

Growing up I pretty much watched all Stephen chow movies but this one is always my favorite.. everytime it’s Chinese new year they will show this on tv and the whole family would tuned in and watch it like previous year (we’re not Chinese but my country celebrated it) To some ppl this is just a movie but for us Asian this is a part of our precious childhood core memories that will never be forgotten 🥹
