It is a lovely site and very different from your normal grass field campsite. We loved being in the woods and will also go back. Thanks for watching 👍

Thank you so much for parking up your mini bus thing in the designated space and for staying off of my land (and out of my swimming pool.) . You’ve no idea how much Graffham land owners appreciate it when you people follow the rules and stay within the confines of the space we’ve made available for “visitors”.

Hi Emma. This is such a nice campsite in a lovely area. A minority of people parking their campervans/motor homes on private land without permission is bad enough, but then using the land owners facilities, leaving rubbish etc give the rest of us campervaners a bad name.

@@familycampervanadventures8842 Family Camper. I agree that it’s the few bad apples who spoil it for the bunch. I don’t mean to be mean. Just last week I came across Betsy, who was trespassing on my land but who couldn’t have been more apologetic and concerned with her breach of camping regulations. I quickly worked out that she had teenage children ( they were with her) and was divorced. ( lucky her). She was a generation younger than my own parents and did not, it seemed, come from a privileged background like mine. This gave me extra respect for her. I also detected a touch of a northern accent, another difference I appreciated. It was such a lovely experience to meet Betsy from The North.

I’m really pleased to have found your channel - we’re also a family of four and next week we’re picking up our campervan with a rear kitchen layout! It’s nice to find someone else with this layout - it seems quite rare, but I don’t know why as I think it’s really practical! Also I think you might be quite local to us as I can see lots of local places mentioned (we’re in Eastleigh) 😊 We stayed at Graffham in a tent before we had children and it’s a beautiful place, great to camp among the trees (I’m a shade lover 😂). Looking forward to watching more of your videos and maybe picking up some tips along the way! I’m seriously tempted by a Ridgemonkey - was worried even the XL might be small for four people, but it looks like you put it to great use 👍🏻

Hi Lucy thanks for the nice message. We also stayed at Graffham in a tent before we had the boys and is a lovely place. Yes we're local (near to Fareham). I think the rear kitchen layout is great on site as gives more living space. Only downside is there isn't a boot area to store all the camping stuff, toys and games. We've been using a trailer, but hope to go without it this year. We've already got some trips booked for the summer, a THS in Bradford on Avon for the May Bank Holiday, then a 2 week tour of Wales in June. Congratulations on the new campervan. Make sure you try everything out a home first and maybe stay close to home for your first trip (just in case). We'd recommend joining the Camping and Caravanning Club not just for the main sites, but also the certified sites and DA meets/THS' as great value in great locations. The ridge monkey XL isn't massive, but for a couple and 2 young children great. If you've got teenagers then you may want something bigger. They are compact to store and easy to clean and good quality. You can get lots of ridgemonky recipes off youtube that are great for camping. You've got your campervan at just the right time ready for the end of lockdown. Hopefully we can all have a great summer of UK camping. Have you checked out Cali Camper Family's channel as their a family of 5 in a california? Thanks again for getting in touch.

@@familycampervanadventures8842 thank you! Yes I think we’ll have to be quite creative with storage - we’re coming from a tiny car which we somehow managed to tent camp with, with a huge tent, so we are quite used to being tight for space but still expecting it to be a bit of a challenge! I hadn’t considered a trailer so it’s good to know that’s an option if necessary. I have also seen some luggage rack type things which attach to the towbar, which I may look into as well, just in case that’s useful to you. We haven’t got any overnight stays booked yet, planning to stay close to home and just enjoy day trips with the added home comforts to start with, getting used to how it all works 😊 We are members of the C&CC from tent camping days too, and I like the idea of their THS etc (which weren’t really an option when we just had a tent) - maybe see you at one of those sometime! Thanks for the Ridgemonkey info too - our children are only 6 and 2, so not too different to yours, I think I’ll have to get one - have been restrained and not bought anything new yet as we do have the essentials from camping! I have seen the Cali Camper family, another great channel 👍🏻 Thanks again and maybe see you around! Hope you have a great summer with your van too!

@@lucys3526 it's surprising what you can fit into a small car 🚗. I've been looking a towbar racks, but door clearance seems to be an issue. The Bak-Rak should work, but some of the reviews on the forums question the build quality. I'm thinking of trying some large but shallow storage boxes that I can put under the van when on site. Our trailer is great and easy to tow, until you get stuck on a single track lane 😰. Most of our camping stuff is from our tent camping days and is a great place to start. Use what you've got already and add/remove/replace stuff as you go and work out what you really need. Normally you can just turn up at a THS, but due to Covid you have to book ahead. There are few THS's at Victoria Country Park and was the first one we went to for a weekend (felt like we were on holiday 20 minutes from home). Enjoy the day trips. You can get somewhere early before the crowds, have breakfast and leave after dinner when all the crowds have gone home. Maybe see you out there sometime 👍

Nice van guys, very cool looking, especially the wheels! Having a fixed toilet in the back must be a god send with kids...one of the main reasons we are changing our camper. Have fun on your adventures and we may take a leaf out of your book and start towing a trailer!

Thanks guys. The wheels made a big difference to the look when we changed them. The toilet has and is a god send especially in lock down for days out and night times. We are looking at ways to do without the trailer and take less stuff. The trailer is easy to tow forwards, but impossible to reverse. So exploring narrow lanes can be difficult and we sometimes have to unhitch in order to back up, so worth bearing that in mind before you get one.
