    Good review. I have several flashlights from Nitecore. This is another great production from them with 1800 lumens. The combination beam was impressive, and very much like the flashlight you reviewed yesterday.

    This looks like a FAB light ! However i just got the older model 'nitecore mh 12 gt' . The main resion i just got the older gt model is has a better throw 320 metres at 1000 lumin . The main thing for me is the nylon sheath , the slightly more compact size ,, but tail stand with good shroud protection on the clicky . I am very happy with my purchase. I have been well versed in all things flashlight ,over the years by your channel . I think my old model MH12GT will serve me well for many years . Tks

    From your video on the MH12 V2 and the S versions and the S is an upgrade but it has a few trades.
    The V2 has the xp-l led, it's a floody light and it is a little more efficient.
    Runs 1200 lumens on high for 3:45h (claimed). 300 lumens on mid for 8h.
    The S has the sst-40, a little more focused hot spot which makes it illuminate a little further.
    Runs 1050 lumens on high for 3:15h (claimed) and 300 lumens on mid for about 7h.
    From the videos i have the impression that the S is kinda equivalent or a little brighter than the V2, both on high, even being 1050 lumens vs 1200, the more focused spot makes up for it. They seem to have very similar spill light but the S has more focus at the center which makes it go further.
    The S has a little less run time but it goes further.
    Very little drawbacks since it uses a big cell. The drawbacks would be bigger if it ran 18650 but the V2 still has a little more run time, perhaps some 20 minutes in practical use but no more

    Now, I'm looking for new one that has SOS and Beacon modes that I can keep inside the car for emergencys (I travel frequently). Between mh12s and p30, wich do you prefer? I liked p30 because it has a long throw but in other way mh12s is more smaller. Could you give me some thoughts? thank you!

    • @CharlesBridgTec
      @CharlesBridgTec  3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      1 lumen light output is great for reading maps, moving around the house without disturbing others etc. Thanks for watching!

    • @nekenwong
      @nekenwong 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CharlesBridgTec that’s correct!! I’ve been using my MH12S with 1lm at night around d hse without disturbing my kids while they’re asleep. I also own the Fenix E30R & love d compact (edc) size.!! But at eco mode, 30lm it’s just too bright for me.

    • @makemap
      @makemap 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You have to be smart. 1 lumen for hundreds of hours is a life saviour in the dark than having over 20 lumens and very little hours. It is better to have some light than none in pure darkness. this makes it one of the best flashlight out there. Zippo uses gas and it is a fire hazard. It can trigger alarms. This flash light is really good for detectives/police as advertised.
      I've tested 1 lumen already, it is good enough to see where you want to go, instead of blindingly falling off the stairs.

  • @AGC828
    @AGC828 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Expensive for a 1800 max lumens light even if it does use a 21700 batter and gives you a quick access holster (which looked like hard plastic.....which means it will over time wear away at the paint....as is the case with Kydex holsters for metal firearms...I digress...)...$140 CAD....

    • @CharlesBridgTec
      @CharlesBridgTec  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I disagree. I have not had any issues with the holster. Also, Nitecore you are paying for quality and beam performance not lumen output which is hard to beat. Thanks for watching!
