    I finally decided to see approximately how warm the P20iX “Hot” this puppy gets. First I have one of the laser thermometers that I used. I kept my P20iX on its turbo setting until it dropped down to its next lower setting on its own. It’s head was approximately 153 degrees Fahrenheit or 65.6 Celsius. The tail cap was approximately 105 degrees Fahrenheit or 40.6 Celsius. It’s battery- removed was about 80-85 degrees F or 27.8 Celsius. ~~ your results will vary ~~ Needless to say my light was to hot to hold while it was on turbo and even when it cut back. I was able to bring turbo back on after clicking it on and off quite a few times - I didn’t count how many times figuring the amount of times would vary from users. But I will say once doing this on and off it stayed on turbo about 20 - 30 seconds which continued to heat my light up even higher to about 163 degrees F.
    I have to admit I considered what I was doing to be abusing my light something I wasn’t comfortable doing so I quit doing so. But it still works fine and I still have a total of 4 batteries but the one I used for this test I marked to see if it might fail sooner than my others.
    I am sure other lights get hotter but this is the hottest one that I own. I hav a hand full of lights that I use while on SAR missions of which this P20iX is perfect for the required 3 lights I am required to carry on missions.
    Really like Charles BridgTec’s reviews and I would like to ask of him to add this test to his reviews. I can say without a doubt this light requires some type of glove or rap it with a rag. But don’t keep anything around the light as it will prevent it from cooling off.

    • @CharlesBridgTec
      @CharlesBridgTec  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, I always say not to run turbo consistently on most flashlights but will cycle down to a safe level. Bypassing this like you did will get the light very toasty and just like my night shots this often happens to me during tests. Winter time they make great hand warmers. Thanks for watching!

    • @MYTOYMAKERZ
      @MYTOYMAKERZ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CharlesBridgTec - Howdy I hope that you didn’t take my amateur testing that I was stepping on your toes? I definitely wouldn’t ever purposely do anything like that. I happened to be on a SAR mission South of one of our Southwestern states - well in Mexico - and was using this light a lot for what I needed at that time. I noticed it had gotten really warm and decided to really check this out once home. My results aren’t very accurate but I got the point across to myself that this puppy gets hot. So I was curious just how hot thus the test.
      I will delete my test if you like I probably should not have posted it on your channel. I respect your reviews and you as a person educating all of us and NiteCore has you to thank for my purchase.
      Thank You and keep up doing your very good reviews. I had noticed a while back your thumb with its black and blue nail and how many months it took to grow out “ ouch “. Cheers

    • @CharlesBridgTec
      @CharlesBridgTec  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You did not offend me. My thumb was crushed in a bad storm we had way back then with 70mph winds which happened when securing stuff at the last minute. Hurt like hell. My thumb was swollen for two weeks so I did not record videos until swelling went down. Take care.

      The MS06 is amazing. Such a great flood light.
      Have you had an issue with yours shutting off when on turbo? My MS06 and R60C have done this. They'll run turbo for a few seconds and then the light shuts off. I can turn it back on, but when it starts doing this it does it every time until I charge it. The thing is though, that when it starts happening the battery shouldn't even be that low. Like not even half empty.
      Also, when in turbo the red light will come on and the light isn't even hot at all and the battery will be freshly charged.
      I really like both lights, but this red light and shut off issue may cause me to return them. I have a DX80 on the way so I'm curious if that will have a similar issue.

    I got my P20iX today and I think I'm going to send it back. The color temp is way too white and washes colors out almost completely when on turbo. I think if the color temp were a bit on the warm side it would be perfect. This light has such a cool color temp that it makes my Seeker 2 Pro look warm.
    It's also my first light that is exclusively controlled from the back button, and I would really like to have a side button as well. I like back buttons, and in some cases use them, but for daily tasks I find the side button much more comfortable to use.

Does this P20ix battery somehow use both negatives and positives on each end for higher-current/lower-impedance type of reasons? I'm a learning-electronics flashaholic hobbyist refreshing my aging fleet of 'Surfire' type lights with some of these unbelievable powerhouses.
      I've also been wondering the same of the battery types that have only one negative-only end and the positive-negative-combined end --- I'm curious as to what the deal is with those as well.
