    Why would you say I'm not going to use the 1,800 lumen turbo mode constantly. You don't know what I'm using this for and in fact, I am buying this light to exclusively use the 1,800 lumen setting. I have no need for any of the other brightness settings. I need something as bright as a car headlight (or brighter) while riding my EUC on dimly lit streets and 1,800 lumens just barely hits that. I would prefer a 2,500 or 3K lumen torch, but the heat factor would be too high still.
    I wouldn't assume the needs case for others in the future when reviewing items such as this. Maybe YOU aren't going to use the turbo function much, but that doesn't mean everyone else is like you. 😁
    Thank you for taking the time and effort to record and edit this video review for all of us to use. It's people like you that help us pick the right item for the right job.

      I sent the MH12s back and ordered the P20i. The mode button on the MH12s is slow and difficult to find at night. It's black with no illumination, and the button is plastic and flush with the body of the light. It's indistinguishable from the body of the light when trying to locate the button in a dark setting aka at night.

      Very wrong choice mate, p20i is the old model. Doesnt really run long, bright but no run tome. Mh12s or mh12v2 are the real beast u dummies

    An interesting flashlight Charlie, so many options of beam of light and batteries which is very good for the user. I also liked the SOS sequence, that is such a great addition for if its needed. Thank you for showing everything this can do Charlie you always tell it as you find it which is so helpful. Good luck and take care please my friend love and hugs to you and NinJen Mary-Ellen LFOD

    That's impressive, one thing I saw that you didn't mention is that there's a diffuser built in! No bright spot in the center. Your video showed how well that worked. Nice even light casting.

    • @CUeltzen
      @CUeltzen 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of Nitecore and Fenix lights are "bright center" which means a good long reach, with enough peripheral side throw to see what's around you. Very UNLIKE cheap lights where it's pitch dark except for the narrow lit spotlight area it lands on, these have "comforting levels" of light where nothing can hide and/or you can see where your feet are going as you walk. The bright center evenly fades to the peripheral area in front of you. That's probably why these upper end lights do not have variable focus, they would act like tight spotlights if they did.

    I have a few Nitecore lights as well. This will replace my SRT5 Detective which I LOVE as an EDC. (750lm) Its unique magnet ring control just cannot be beat by any other light, anywhere, any time. I've packed that light every day in a Pock-Its holster along with a Leatherman Surge for years. I know what 1800 lumens looks like as that's 50% power level on my TM26. It's a HORRENDOUS amount of light, you have to experience it, and as this reviewer says, video just doesn't do it justice. It's been enough years, that I decided it's time to edge back up to the current state of the art, hence I have one on the way from the Nitecore store. What I like about this one, is a tactical tail switch AND a side mode button. I had a Fenix once with a side button, and you spin the thing all around in the dark hunting/feeling for it to turn the thing on. On this light. set the brightness, and the back button is momentary or just on where you left it last. (I hate lights where you have to ramp it up or down EVERY TIME) And, the flashing for battery voltage is foolproof, I like that on my HC60 headlamp. Forget green for the 1st 1/3, red for under 50%, etc. I wanna know exactly where the battery charge is. And I like the charge port, that will be nice as I can top the light off in the truck as I drive. (Fenix smart charger at home) I started out looking at lights with OLED displays, and landed on the MH12S. Most OLED display lights are just too small, weird form factor, or short run time. (Except for the larger lights of course, but those aren't dropping into a Pock-Its pack either) One last thing, I REALLY like the battery options. I carry a box full of CR123's for things like my Leopold Tracker HD 2 thermal, so if the light dies on the trail, I can stuff in a pair of 123's and move on. The SRT5 is the same way. (It uses an 18650) Can't wait to get my hands on it. IMHO, an EDC light needs to be close to the form factor and size of the gool ol' (But pathetically dim) AA powered Minimag.

    • @Jerome.Du.Quartier
      @Jerome.Du.Quartier 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The SRT5 is one of the best lights I have ever owned, that ring is the best feature ever. I choose which setting before I turn on the ligth, its strange they didn't adapt that technology to other lights. OIther brands tried but failed. So I'm in the same ballpark, I want more lumens but if I coukld it would be in the SRT5.

    FYI; just because the flashlight can handle being thrown around like that, doesnt mean the battery can. I have seen people do similar stuff with certain vape mods, and the battery got dented so it lost the connection. I guess it could still work if you have a bigger spring, but the vape device did not have a spring, and so it would not work until the battery was replaced...

      I have that and those flashlights might reach long distances but original legit flashlight torches like nitecore are way brighter trust me. I have a zoom light mh12s and mh12 v2 the nitecores are way stronger and can reach further throws

    Nitecore p20i vs the MH12s. Which one is better?

    • @max521993
      @max521993 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cant really compare them. P20i is the flagship duty light, 1800,300 and 50 lumen, everytime you turn on instant turbo or the mode button for strobe, and the bezel has a hlass breaker. Mh12s more of a everyday light, both very very good!

    • @aggaviriyo790
      @aggaviriyo790 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      P20i is a straight, no bullshit, duty light and can't really be an edc as it always starts at turbo and doesn't have mode memory. The officers would need it to always be turn on on turbo as default. It's made specifically for that. It also has robuat bezel to break down glass or anything really
      MH12s is a hybrid, you could use it as a not-so-hardcore duty light or carry it as an edc because it has mode memory and doesn't default to turbo
