For those that don't know, the 3-5 Remasters came with unmentioned changes to the combat, some intentional by the developers, some happened due to their lack of expertise when changing the game from 30 to 60FPS (known issues also persist in Kiwami 2, Yakuza 6 and even Lost Judgment th-cam.com/video/zhjy2zaK97Y/w-d-xo.html). The intentional issues are the infamous enemy blocking in Yakuza 3 Remastered, which in the original game was normal, the infamous enemy grabbing in Yakuza 4 Remastered, which in the original game was normal, the blocking, grabbing and dodging in Yakuza 5 Remastered which was also normal in the original game, as well as a big change to enemy AI in Yakuza 5 Remastered (extremely aggressive & passive aggressive), which again, was normal in the original. There are a few more. The unintentional issues would be certain combos/chains being possible in the originals, but impossible in the remasters, for example Yakuza 4 Saejima was able to chain his full combo on a boss (square x3, charge triangle x3) without the boss turning around. Not possible in the remaster. That's just 1 of many, that's why I included both versions of each game. Also didn't mention Kurohyou 1 & 2 because there was no time left and I also haven't played those. I hear good things though.
It seems that RGG is cooking with Pirate Yakuza, which gives me hope. Gaiden feels very undercooked. The best way to play it is with the Legend Remix mod.
I love yakuza 5 but I really can’t agree more with you, they really butchered everything in the remasters, fucking forklift, the enemies blocking which made some of my boys skip or drop the entire series because of that. The OGs were just better. (Btw you forgot the GOAT, dead souls)
@@rhymestonemusic yes, 6 has combat I could charitably rank as "pushing out a kidney stone while dehydrated would be a more enjoyable experience" and 7 is actually extremely fun if you can read above a third grade level
@@SoberSpork No, the rest of the series gets only kinda frustrating at worst, it's just k2-6 and its floaty, no feedback, unless grab terribleness that truly sucks
@ExtremeMan-yn4nw Only Dragon style take a while because of Majima Everywhere. The other three you can fully upgrade by simply progressing through the story and doing some sub stories. They give you a lot of EXP points.

Bruh, you played everything except the ones with the best combat
Skill issue
Something tells me he liked Yakuza 5 remastered
Never let bro rate again 🗣️‼️‼️
Yakuza 3 combat was like trying to cut the grass with a pair of scissors
Og 1's combat becomes satisfying once you get all the upgrades and abilities but takes wayyyy to long to get them.
Yakuza 1 is very janky but still quite fun. Yakuza 2 is better without a doubt.
Gotta be grateful when you can like both brawler and turn based, i prefer brawler but 8's turn based is fucking beautiful
Notice how gunks favorite isnt on this list
Dead souls

Damn, as someone who loves the Remastered combat of 4, I gotta try the original and see if it's actually even more fun
Gotta agree with the Ishin Kiwami one
Yakuza 6 is peak
Tiger drop sucks in 6

GUNK has never played Dead Souls, he would have emulate that game or get himself a physical copy. Or digital download on the PlayStation store.
I ascend when I play as akiyama in y4
Yakuza Kiwami is the peak combat from last engine, real perfect and functional, for Dragon Engine, I think it's Kiwami 2 or Gaiden
gaiden lmao
6-monthes of development is undercooked Ngl.
@@goahr5000 yea i know just raw meat infront of ramsay is hilarious
Kiwami combat is slightly but definitely better than 0 simply due to the addition of Tiger Drop
Godspeed made it have more depth you can do cool stuff with it since you get a lotta free cancels n stuff
@@thedooodlesnah, Time for Yinglong heat action stunlock on the other hand 😗😗😗🔥🔥🔥
It's better because you can actually juggle with styles comfortably. I mean, it's a BIG improvement.
Also the fact that you can fast Switch Between Styles
Kiwami Rush ATATATATATATA!
We get it
Dragon engine's Goofy ahh ragdoll physics go brrrrr
Kiryu's square combo in DE compared to the ps2-ps3 looks so wrong
Yakuza ps2 combat is good tho
I fucking hated the babysitting simulator Yakuza. Was it 3??
tru i agree with 90% of it
I love the slander for the JRPG Yakuza games.
Ichiban games are goated dawg
They’re good

I get it Combat 7 is bad
But why infinite wealth?
Anyone know the source of the Og Ishin meme?
It's a movie called Kung Fu hustle... It's an old Chinese action comedy film.
how do you like the combat in kiwami bro
It's good when you fully upgrade your Dragon style and other styles. The only problem is that it takes centuries to fully upgrade them.
It's 0's combat but better 🤷♂️
It has a lotta depth behind it but notably time for Godspeed really opens up the game’s combat and especially combos
