The number one question I get asked is how I can afford to travel, while making money, and blogging. I'm going to answer how I make money, and also how I can afford to travel and eat in this video. Also, I'll share how I think you can do it too!
There are many many ways to make money while traveling, and I have friends that are working on cruise ships, blogging, affiliate marketing, freelance writing, and even skydiving, while earning money to be able to maintain a lifestyle traveling. But instead of sharing all the ways on how to make money traveling, I'll first share the ways I make money.
First I want to say that all of these ways that I make money while traveling are all the result of initially starting a blog back in 2009 and committing to writing quality and useful information on it on a regular basis.
If you want to make money while traveling, I'd highly recommend you start a blog on whatever you're passionate about and begin blogging high quality useful information to show your expertise, and also connecting with others. 1. Affiliate recommendations - This basically means earning a small commission as a referral. There are many companies (places like Amazon and Agoda.com for hotels) that offer a commission if you refer someone to a purchase. As an example, on my website I give away a lot of free useful tips about visiting Bangkok (migrationology.com/bangkok-tha.... And I also recommend a few hotels which, some of which I've previously stayed at, and others which I've just visit and highly recommend. So if you were to click one of the links and book that hotel, I would get a small commission as a referral. I only recommend things that I use myself or trust.
2. My premium travel and food guides - The biggest way I make money while traveling is by selling my premium travel and food guides (migrationology.com/travel-guid.... Right now I have the Bangkok 101 things to do guide, Eating Thai Food Guide, Vegetarian Thai Food Guide, and the Delhi travel guide, and I'm working on more. I prefer to sell my own guides than doing advertising on my website, because I can trust in the quality of my own guides.
3. Freelance writing - As a result of first starting my travel blog back in 2009, I've had the opportunity to do numerous freelance writing projects, some big and some small. I've written for a few inflight magazines, as well as CNN Travel, and various other newspapers, magazines, and websites. I used to dislike writing, but the more I started blogging about thing I really enjoyed (like food) the more I enjoyed it. And after committing to it and blogging, I've been able to connect with so many others and had chances to write for many places. A blog is a great way for you to have a public profile of your expertise.
4. Video, TH-cam - Finally, the fourth way of how I make money while traveling and blogging is through videos. I made the decision to start making videos and I have committed to it. Ads on some of my videos is another chunk of my monthly income.
Along with how to make money while traveling and blogging, it's also important to say how I can afford to travel? Most of the money my wife and I make now goes back into our traveling and eating. However, it's all about your priorities. We don't own a car and pay for gas, and instead we choose to buy plane tickets and eat street food. You have to set your own goals and priorities and live intentionally to pursue them.

I am retired, but I travelled from 20-72 on my vacations. If you can work a job 50 weeks, take the two weeks or more for yourself folks. I visited all 50 states and around the world, and I never begged for money, but I helped others.💯❤️😊💐🇺🇸✈️

I watched his videos about Brazil, as an American living in Brazil I often see gringos come down here and talk trash, he showed nothing but respect for the people that he was interacting with. There were some things he got wrong, but he was never rude or disrespectful.

Mark Wiens Have you looked into Bitcoin? It will be a game changer to the way you can receive (and send) money. For example, paypal takes 3% or more!! while Bitcoin is often less than 1% or FREE! And BC is truly global so your fans and vendors from all over the world can send you money without the Bullsh* hassle and outrageous fees of international banking. Ugh! :)
Chris Legaspi Bitcoin is losing it's worth incredibly fast. The in getting one is going up, and every four years, the block reward goes down 50%. The cost of keeping your ASIC or GPU mining, will soon enough outweigh your income from Bitcoin. Also, buying an ASIC is very expensive, a person may never come out of debt from buying one. As well as the fact that bitcoin runs outside of government control, and many stores don't even support Bitcoin. I love the idea of bit coin, but soon enough it'll be worth about 10$ USD or something, and just about all people only make a single Bitcoin in 2-8+ months, unless youre using a 6000 dollar ASIC, then it'd be 10$ every one month which is basically nothing. China is pretty successful, mining 4k bitcoin a day with over 600 ASICs. If you're using your GPU or CPU to mine Bitcoin, I recommend stopping before you waste your hardware and money

Hi Huadong Feng! I just want to say you're a lot more than you think with talent and finesse to do with family, school, job, being a Father, and a husband. You are a power house to be able to do all that! You have so much potential you probably don't realize you are especially one with the capacity to catalyze change. It might mean pushing the edge a little at a time, going outside one's comfort zone as they say. To have a dream is a vital step to melting those prison bars and it seems you already have them.
