Personally, if my choice was Turbo vs Turbo S, i would get the normal Turbo. Everyone seems to be obsessed with the “S”, because it’s the top of the range car. I feel like it’s about the status rather than performance. To be able to brag to your “friends” that you have the most expensive one.
The Turbo S offers marginally better performance over the normal Turbo, that you would not notice, unless your last name is, for example, Bergmeister. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Turbo. The steel brakes are excellent, the equipment is great too.
We seem to live in a world, where anything less than the best is not good enough. I would be more than happy with a base 911 Carrera (or the Carrera T, as that has a manual gearbox) even if I could afford a Turbo S. And I would drive my Carrera with my head up high.
By this reasoning, you don't even need a 911

There’s a big difference in the extra bhp, an slight exterior looks, which makes it far more superior and the reason I want a Turbo S
Price wise after speccing they end up being pretty close so it doesnt make sense to get the non s when the turbo s is already pretty close in price. Might as well upgrade, but i agree with your philosophy.
@@sierrachief117 Cayman is a better sports car because it do not have the engine sticking out behind the rear axle... But many have more money then sense and buy the 911 just for the name and because it cost more, and they just want things that is more expensive because it is more expensive.
Depends on use case. If you track heavy 8+ days the turbo has steels and more durable. The turbo is stupid fast and you will not be able to extract 75% of the car potential on the street without getting into trouble let alone a turbo s. If you don’t load up on options on the standard Turbo, it is a bargain. Remember the standard Turbo smokes a bmw m5 CSL which is not a slow car. I am biased of course because I own one 🤓
I will take PCCB for the calipers, swap out the rotors for Girodisc irons. Best of both options.
The turbo is better value for money unless you are really obsessed with more power, or if money is not an issue. All the other options that come on the turbo S as standard can be chosen for the turbo when you configure it. The ceramic brake callipers, the sound system, the carbon trim and the oval sport exhaust system and tailpipes.
Turbo s is the better value .Many options on the turbo are standard equipment on the Sand you get carbon brakes and more power as standard equipment. Much higher resale value
many options are useless. even with the more power @@camirocz

The wait for a Turbo S is longer, mine took 14 months to arrive. Once run in, you get used to the performance far too quickly. Re sale is also much better on the Turbo s. Major upgrade from the 992 C4S I had before!

amazing that the S greatly outsells the non-S. midrangepower is so much more useful on the street. only on track would an S make sense. now i'll watch the video. lol
The Turbo is a bit more daily drivable on lousy roads than the Turbo S, while delivering almost identical acceleration, at least at legal speeds. Car & Driver actually tested the 2019 Turbo as faster to 60MPH than the 2019 Turbo S and with a 10.6 sec quarter mile time at 129MPH.
2019 is a different gen (991.2 ; facelift) to the version here (992) . Both are fast, but be in no doubt, the Turbo S is faster than the Turbo. 2.5 s 0-60 tested by various reputable reviewers

I would actually be quite happy driving the Carrera Cabrio, but if cash was not an issue .. Turbo S (obviously)

Just a 718 4.0 GTS manual with a few options.
82mph in second and too much already for the UK’s roads. Great tourer and rocket when I want it to be. All for around £85k new. Mines two years old so was cheaper.
The real reason anyone buys a turbo or turbo s is to flex. Otherwise the GTS is the sweet spot or the best choice outside GT cars.
So the answer is Turbo S.
You can spec a standard Turbo up to the Turbo S (bar the extra power output) - the difference at current prices is about £7000.
Top professional presentation. From performance perspective a Turbo on street is already too powerful I would go for a turbo with pasm sport ,burmester, metal sun roof , sport+ seat, camera, PDLS. Currently on 992 2S manual 7 speed.
I drove a turbo s on a track day at Porsche silverstone. It’s not hugely expensive if you want to try one. To be honest it was too much car for my very limited driving talent. Absolutely brutal acceleration and way beyond uk roads. I had always wanted one but if I get a Porsche I will now get a much cheaper one because turbo s is just not necessary for uk. Beautiful car though and off the charts performance.

Turbo s if I could afford one ..
For a daily, even a C2S is plenty already. You can also do a software ECU tune (still 100% stock parts) if you want more power. Personally I don’t think it is worth the extra $50-70K as a daily commuter.

I think most people who can afford a Turbo would just buy the Turbo S. Get the best of the best. Otherwise, a GTS is a better option over the regular Turbo.
Very very nice and elegante presentation of the unique Icon from Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S... Makes it hard not to choose the Porsche Turbo S😅.... But I would really like a Porsche Brabus Rocket R 900hp... Are it possible to buy one of those. Is there only 25 of them made by Brabus?
