- Another severely weather impacted plan where all our good intentions were blown out the window. We were supposed to be heading down to the borders to explore Scotland's beautiful Tweed Valley.... but Storm Kathleen had other ideas.
This week we're at St Andrews for DeNiro's first Greyhound parkrun before an abortive visit to Innerleithen (We're there long enough to know we NEED to get back soon).
Then we say Hello to the Lighthouse in Newhaven (briefly) before Iain and DeNiro head south to visit a cracking park and its Tudor Mansion.
Eclectic? You Bet.
A huge thank you to everyone who's supported our wee channel so far, if you'd like to help support our wee adventures you can do it through through our Ko-Fi or Patreon.
All our videos are hand made from 100% organic ingredients ;). Our content is mostly filmed on a GoPro 11 with a Rode fluffy microphone to keep the wind noise down, with occasional bits on an iPhone13. We also use a DJI Mini 3 drone which we're loving getting to grips with.
We make our own music using GarageBand and the videos are edited in iMovie.
If you'd like to buy DeNiro a biscuit (and he's a good boy, honest) you can via our Ko-Fi link at www.ko-fi.com/ScotlandOnAShoes....
If you'd like to become a patron of our wee channel we also have a patreon at / scotlandonashoestring
Yes to exploring the Tudor house, please! And DiNiro looked like a park run professional! No need to ever apologize for the weather.
Thankfully it’s getting better. Closest we’ve been to not having anything to show you guys.
I love watching DeNiro’s ears flipping up and down as you go around together. A fun video despite the weather! Yes, please do show us the inside of that amazing Tudor building!
Will do!!
The Tudor building is beautiful! I live not too far away from the town of Sandwich which has a number of Tudor houses, but nothing on that scale! Congratulations to DeNiro on completing his first park run 🎉 Good luck with the marathon!
Yeah, Tudor places are always nice but that hall is something else.
Well done DeNiro on completing your first park run 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Looking forward to seeing more of the Tudor House Museum. Some great grave stones in the cemetery 👍🏻
Thanks! 😀
Thanks! Ditto the other comments. DeNiro is this weeks star of the show. Enjoyed the video. Congrat's on van conversion. Yeah, those darn (gin glass) measurements always get you in the end.
Thanks as always for your support !!
well done to DeNiro for completeing a park run.. its more than I could do ... lol
He wasn’t overly keen on the second half 🐕
A great episode, no need to worry! What an amazing Tudor house, stunning! Well done DeNiro!
The house is brilliant!
@@scotlandonashoestring hope you get to film inside sometime.
DeNiro…up and coming park run star! The Tudor house is incredible. Please do take us along if you explore it further. What a “wow”.
Will do!
That Tudor house is absolutely stunning, looking forward to an inside tour.Way to go DeNiro on your first of many parkruns (I hope).Keep posting, I will keep watching.Cheers from British Columbia,Canada 😊
Thanks for watching
I have seen this house on Ghost Hunter International back in the early 2000's. I love looking at old home and of course old cemeteries. No worrys about the weather. DeNiro looked like he liked the park run tell the end. Great job DeNiro! I hope you and Bex's remodeling of y'alls bathroom goes great with know unseen problems. Have a wonderful week and take care.
Thanks the bathroom is finished now and it’s looking good!
The Tudor house is lovely. Sorry you’ve had such rotten weather this late winter/ early spring. Maybe it will be a pretty summer. Great video.
I hope so!
Canadian Geese can be very territorial . They do bite . Tudor house is a beauty. Yes let us go with you inside please!
We’ll go back soon!
Thank you for the tour.
You’re very welcome
Wow you did the extra mile for that one. The storms are more frequent here. Just getting short teasers of pretty weather before the sky falls which is an improvement.🇨🇦
DiNiro needs conditioning and some medicam for those events. 💊
Stay safe and look forward to St Mary's
DeNiro needs to find his athletic traits or maybe he can’t be bothered anymore now he’s retired! 😂
What is it with the algorithm?! So sluggish at the mo...
Hope the marathon goes well, you crazy people!
Yeah we were bubbling up quite nicely then it slowed right down. Better than @placesforthepast it was getting thousands of views then totally died. Now getting less than 200.
I really enjoyed your eclectic video!!
It’s not intentional all the time, but sometimes I do drop a rhyme.
How did you cover that cool bar glass holder!?! 🤯
Same as the interior of the van, grey stretchy carpet. Works really well and hides my dodgy woodwork.
You’re a poet & didn’t know it 😂
Don’t encourage him! 😂 Bex
Cobra chickens 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
New subbie here, and, unrelated to this vlog, but since it's the most recent, I thought you'd be more likely to see it.... Hubby and I are coming to iona for a week in may, then two weeks in and around fife to mudlarking and dump dive....can you suggest a good central location for a homebase? Having trouble finding a decent shoestring hotel or guest house. Greetings from Pennsylvania! And thanks if you can offer any advice! Slowly going through your vids to find good beachcombing beaches!
Welcome aboard :) Will you have a car? If so Dunfermline is nice and central with a bit of life and a lot of history. As for the best beachcombing beaches, well they’re at Kirkcaldy (in one of our first episodes) at Seafield and Pathhead. Seafield can be amazing for pottery :) There are plenty of bits of Fife on the channel but if you want any more info or tips just shout /)
Thanks a bunch! We did reserve a place in Dunblane and Dunfermline. We did hire a car, so now we're looking for a place maybe near Dundee (deniro will love all our D places!) So we can attempt some bottle pits. Thanks for your help! We'll get to fife around 13 may.... Are there any festivals then? And do you recommend the trip to the isle of may to see the puffins? Appreciate seeing all the charity shops that bex likes!
