I know a guy who decided to become a long haul truck driver. He then became an owner/operator and purchased enough trucks to have guys driving for him. He’s now a millionaire, no college degree and he fully retired at the age of 40 and just travels now.

My dad’s an owner operator. He dropped out of highschool, isn’t very “booksmart” in the slightest, but has had several years where he nets more than 250k. Getting your CDL A and driving big rigs is a great way to make a great living, especially for introverts. I’m considering quitting my accounting job to go transition to trucking. EDIT: If you have kids, you won’t get to see your kids very often unless you stay local. That is the downside. I rarely ever saw my dad growing up but I don’t spite him at all for the sacrifices he made.
A friend of mine is a trucker. He missed his daughter's childhood because he was on the road every week from Sunday afternoon to Friday night. Not for me :)
I'm a truck driver. I jumped into it because I read the book, "The Richest Man in Babylon." I remember the old man at the end of the book and how he was a camel herder. It made me think of the parallel with truck drivers of the modern day. Went for it and glad I did. There's definitely money able to be made here in this business.
