There are very few videos available for work on Beetle front wheel bearings, so thanks greatly for filling that gap. My particular angst about this job is in getting the bearings tightened properly (loose versus too tight) and I think you covered that and explained it well. I had to chuckle WITH you on the lost circlip. I loose parts and tools frequently while working on the car and we can ALL relate to that! The only thing I might add is to apply a dab of silicone sealant over the circlip to prevent moisture to enter the bearings space (which may be why there was wetness in there to begin with). Thanks for taking the time to provide this valuable information!
Thanks! Your rear bearing video inspired me. I’ve got that one in the can too, but it’s like my engine tin video. I had to go back and redo things a couple times.

Thanks Christopher! Good idea on the silicone. I was looking in my tool box this morning and I’m missing my 14mm wrench...
Thanks. Now I’m going to replace bearings in both of my VW’s. One is a 73 Thing and the other is a 73 Super Beetle Convertible.
Awesome video. Very helpful. I will be doing this on my bug soon so this video was perfect
Glad I can help! Super easy to do even with limited tools.
Excellent video, well done!!

Thanks , all good info , look forward to any other vw info! cheers !
More to come!
Thank you for making this good video.
Excellent! I bought new caps and ended up using the old ones. The new ones were poor quality
The old ones were so beefy! Total quality. I imagine the replacements feel like paper.
Misunderstoodboygenius Sadly we don’t have as many quality parts like we used to.
True enough. And no whole junkyards full of VWs!
Whats the name of the tool set you purchased on amazon?
