I have never owned an Apple , nor have I used one. I would be lost most likely. Hope you can get it up and running . Would be nice to see what they are like.
I've been fairly lost with this computer myself. I knew to remove the PRAM battery, but can't install a new one, so I can't keep the time or certain settings (like mouse speed, oddly enough). I have also found that I'd need another Apple computer with an 800k disk drive and a CD-ROM, so I can burn floppy images to the CD-ROM and then write them with the 800k drive. From what I can gather, the way the drives work is slightly physically different than how PC floppy drives work. Those are my two biggest problems- PRAM and being able to boot from something. Of course, before the hard disk quit, I was able to boot into the installed System 6.0.5, but now it is left with no boot media.
Good catch.
