    They just don’t wanna lose weight because losing weight requires effort and discipline.
    Why are fat people celebrated in the media yet anorexic people vilified? They’re two sides of the same coin.

    • @aura9773
      @aura9773 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      i see what you’re saying but I don’t think that people struggling on either end of said “coin” should be vilified in media
      They’re both health problems and I don’t see the point in insulting people struggling with them

    This entire debate would have been much more productive if people would just stop acting like children and immediately start personally attacking someone with a different opinion? "Are you alright? Do you need a hug?"! Ugh... absolutely useless. And the anchors chortling away like stupid prats are even worse.
    And that is coming from someone who actually agrees that restaurants denying service to people based on their weight is a bad idea.

    Wasn’t Susanna herself in the news recently being praised for her weight loss? She must recognise the health benefits...she must recognise benefits of some kind or why bother? Bit rich of her now to suggest other people shouldn’t be encouraged to do the same.

    I actually agree with the fatties for once. Its the same as drug addiction, addicts will get drugs regardless of the legal status. We need to address the root cause.

      i agree too. but they don't realize not all fat folks have eating addiction some are on meds or undelying issues causing weight gain. It's stupid and it needs to stop. anorexia is more glamourized then anything in the us. I know many overweight people and I am use to it as it is in my family, you keep nagging on people about this subject they won't lose the weight. If they don't have the negative shame revolving around them then they decide on their own.

    Processed food is bad for all - Steve is right to discuss food addiction too. It is being metabolically ill that is dangerous. Not all fat people are ill (20% are bot) and not all ill people are fat (40% are normal weight).

    Losing weight is hard and a long term commitment of it were easy then everyone would be a size 10- I find it annoying in general when people who have never struggled with their weight have all these opinions on weight loss - and certainly people can’t be forced to lose weight it’s something that needs to be done yourself

    Fat people know they are over weight why treat them as brainless idiots. I have been all weights in my 64 years from 90 - 200kgs l am the same person whatever weight l am. I had a gastric bypass in 2004 and it has destroyed my life going from a happy busy mum to a person who has regular surgeries because of complications, l had to give up my job because l was absent to much. I am very limited in what food l can eat and vomit daily and am bordering on malnutrition.

    Though I see the dangers of it, the idea itself is worth exploring. For instance, I use site blocker for facebook, twitter during work time. Removing the temptation for procrastination works. The same is with food, it will help people who want to eat better, eat better. Although it should be done as a free choice in some way. Lets say, go to your nearest restaurant and give them a right to serve you only good food, something like that.

    The diet pyramid and government guidelines have a lot to answer for. We've been encouraged to eat carbs above everything else and cut out fats. Sugar is toxic and like a drug... The diet industry are making a ridiculous amount of money from all the yoyo dieters out there and all thats happening is people are ending up with a sugar addiction and are getting depressed.

    If people don't want to take care of themselves, it's their business. Do people really want the government dictating what can go in their mouth? Can you imagine the opening it will create for people that want to exploit the system Organised crime making back alley deals for overweight people to buy junk food.

    • @pmmp3442
      @pmmp3442 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well.... If public money goes into paying for medication and hospital care that is 100% avoidable. It's just like smoking. If you can avoid obese and overweight people flooding hospitals. Are you aware of how many diseases/conditions are a consequence from obesity? It's more than 100.
      I think the UK hasn't shared precise numbers, but recently the US has shared their numbers from covid-19 deaths, guess what, about 70% of those deaths were either over-weight or obese people. Then people complain that they can't get access to the hospital to do their cancer treatments and get diagnosed. So no, it's not a "let them do what they want", when it literally impacts the whole healthcare system, as it just did for the last year.

      @@pmmp3442 many people hate their life and themselves and think existence is pointless. food, drugs, alcohol, smoking..its a way to escape reality for a short time. @@spiralmoment I think if you do everything with moderation... I mean smoking for me it's just pointless I will never understand how the younger generation gets into smoking tobacco.
      Especially because I know no one who liked it the first time they have tried it.
      I get it, but it's not about your tax money going towards that. It's about how other people who have conditions and diseases that they cannot control, such as cardiac diseases that end up without having any access to hospitals or treatments, even people who are healthy and sadly contract cancer. This is the main issue, how we are ending up treating people with diseases that are 100% avoidable, rather than helping people who actually did not choose to have certain conditions.
