- I've only just got round to seeing this thing, and normally I try to stay away from spoilers and opinions before hand to not be swayed - but my god it was hard to avoid the insane press this film was getting, and the negative backlash behind it.
Some of it I think it perfectly valid, and other bits I find less so. So lets dive into to what became of this MCU mish mash

On The Marvels ,i really enjoyed the film as a standalone film. ms marvel i felt carried the movie. I agree again this is amother villian thats poor and forgetable.
I like the idea of the multiverse Marvel have made some key wrong decisions. Turning Scarlet Witch good, making Shuri thr Black Panther, having a happy ending in Quantumania, no team up Avengers movies, soo many end credit scenes that go no where. Trying to appease too many people ,making a movie by comitee. Soo many mistakes and dont get me started in the budget of these films.
People are slating the Madam Web trailer (which i think maybe a decent film) but i guarantee it will make money as i am assuming it has a budget of around 100mil.
But to end on a positive, note, go see The Marvels it is fun 🙂
I think why people are REALLY celebrating this crashing and burning is it is everything wrong with post-Endgame Marvel rolled into one concise package. Every single thing people hate about the current era is here, from the terrible tone to the hatred of multiverses, from forgettable villains to inconsistent characterization in the too many tie ins.. And it's funny how most of the supposed 'racist and sexist' people celebrating this are openly saying Ms. Marvel was the best thing in the film and would like to see her in better films, so that attack doesn't hold the water it did in particular with most media outlets finally calling them on their horrific decline in quality and terrible writers, producers and showrunners.

Great review Harry! The problem with the MCU for me is the half-backed scripts where they don't explain key elements in the story. I'm sure that it will improve going forward.
