- Finally got the Still 070 clone (from a company called Auston) running! Have fixed the carburetor, clutch, pull cord, recoil, and a few other fixes needed, but we are running!

Seems way better!
Getting better for sure 👍🏻
Heck yeah !! Great job man 🤙
This is awesome
right on!!!
I like my German Stihls: 046, 064, and 066.
There are plenty of examples on TH-cam where people have taken a lawnmower engine and made a simple mill using a chainsaw bar. The guys that use a big motor, like 20+ horsepower seem very successful. Most of the systems seem very simple and could be made relatively portable. With all of the horsepower and the ability to achieve an optimal chain speed, I see them being very effective. Honestly, if someone built one of these with a small investment they could easily mill timbers and build a home or whatever. Yes you lose a lot of wood with the kerf, but if the cut is true it isn’t that bad. I can see the chains lasting far longer than a band on a bandmill. I fully intend on making one myself as I have what I need to build it. I am considering using a harvester bar to mill with.
That’s awesome! I need to watch some videos on that
I hope my carburetor suggestion for that tillotson is doing well. nice too see it cutting now. recently put a 090 top end on my neotec 070, its a bit overkill but if you want more power its a pretty easy swap
The tillotson worked like a charm! I’ve read about the 090 top end swaps looks like a great upgrade
I haven't seen your full series on this saw. Do you still have the base gasket on the saw?
Base gasket is still on the saw, probably won’t take it off.
