How Would You Escape North Korea? (The 7 Choices)
If you were living in North Korea right now - trying to survive on a diet of rats, grass, soil and tree bark; quenching your thirst by drinking out of mud puddles in the ground - what would you do?
There's also the conceivable chance of being sent to a political prison camp for years on end just because you innocently thought out loud one day to a bunch of friends that, say, Dear Leader gained a bit of weight; where you are then beaten, tortured, and left so hungry that you are forced to dig and consume the grains out of faeces, or the maggots from dead bodies, just so you have the energy to perhaps last one more day.
You'd probably wanna escape. But how?
The North Korean government in Pyongyang refuses to let its citizens leave, a clear violation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, viewing North Korean defectors as traitorous criminals. Captured North Koreans would be subject to unimaginable torture and often public executions.
If they are successful in their escape, then three to four generations of their family back home would be sent to North Korean prison camps to rot ....or worse. This is a strong deterrent.
But this still doesn't stop desperate North Koreans from tempting fate. In this video, I'll go over the seven ways to escape the DPRK, including the most dangerous, the most unforgiving, the most unique, and the most unexpected.
The North Korean border on the south side (ie. South Korean border / Korean DMZ) is the shortest distance to travel for safety and stability but as a result, the regime makes it dangerously hard. A North Korean escapee can be shot down by North Korean soldiers (border guards) or step on the many landmines in the area.
The northern border to China has its own set of challenges. Most North Korean refugees escape through this way, usually crossing the Tumen River border (like the famous North Korean defector Hyeonseo Lee). Once in China, the nightmare doesn't end there.
There are also other, more unconventional ways you can try to escape such as through North Korean labor camps.
Even if you make it to safety and resettle in a stable country, the North Korean regime will still try to hunt you down, so you're never truly safe. Especially if you're an outspoken critic or a threat to Kim Jong-un's power - just ask his half brother, Kim Jong-nam.

🩸 Watch The Shocking Chinese Pork Bun Murders exclusively on Nebula: nebula.tv/kento-bento-pork-bun-murders
    👆🏼 Clarifications:
    - With regards to 'taking down the regime' as mentioned at the end of the video, a common approach is to disseminate as much information about South Korea and the rest of the world to everyday North Koreans so they can create their own 'Korean Spring' uprising and revolution. True change starts internally.
    - I didn't get into why China & North Korea are allies. Here's a video explaining it: th-cam.com/video/Ffg7Xnoniho/w-d-xo.html
    - The fear of being caught in China is so great, that some arm themselves with crushed chilli peppers to throw at guards who may try to stop them. If detained, they may pull out a small knife; not to harm others, but themselves. Sadly, a clean slit to the wrist/throat, or a fatal stab to the stomach often beats getting sent back to North Korea.
    - There are Chinese people in China who feel sympathetic to the NK defectors' plight and end up helping them, risking imprisonment themselves. I hear even some Chinese police officers do this.
    - There are many Christian organizations and pastors who help NK defectors. Raising money so they can afford escape brokers and extra costs for the perilous journey ahead.
    - Russia and North Korea share a border along the tail end of the Tumen River, but defectors rarely cross at this point as it is only 17km long - it's a small stretch of land easily patrolled by border guards.
    - Numerous North Koreans have still made it to Russia, but this was more so in the past and almost always through China, during times when border security was loose.
    - Russia and North Korea are also long-time allies, so even if defectors were to make it to Russia, the likelihood of being deported is high.
    - Regarding the mention of North Korea outsourcing its labor force to several countries around the world including Poland (at 10:48), this is publically accessible information and not too hard to look up yourself. Some people took it to mean I was insinuating a connection to german labor/concentration camps of the past, which is not the case. It's got nothing to do with that. However, it's been noted that North Koreans have been employed by 32 companies in Poland under impoverished conditions. Here are 2 such sources:
    www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/05/31/polish-firms-employing-north-korean-slave-labourers-benefit-from/
    th-cam.com/video/SPjKs8NuY4s/w-d-xo.html
    - 'Non-elite' North Koreans also may end up bribing border guards and paying escape brokers, however It's not as common. Though the elite don't have to worry about saving up for it.
    - Note: Damn, this video got demonetized, just like many of my war-related or humanitarian catastrophe videos in the past. It really discourages content creators from doing videos on anything controversial, even the ones that help spread awareness. Perhaps I should start a Patreon?...

The topic is fine, except it's 95% propaganda. These sorts of videos implicitly vilify North Korea. Of course, they have plenty to be criticized for, but that kind of one-sided blame misses the bigger picture, ie, how did North Korea come to be? Why do they continue to be as they are? Who/what maintains the geopolitical status quo? Why is North Korea on a constant war footing? Why do they feel threatened? Are they in fact being threatened? Why do the Koreas remain divided? In whose interest is a divided Korea? Why does the US refuse to sign a peace treaty? Why does North Korea pursue nukes? Is it offensive or defensive?

They would just credit this as propaganda and think it false. You see many North Koreans silently crying behind their malnourished smiling faces. But I truly believe that many have taken this life-long brainwashing to heart and actually believe that there is nothing better on this planet than there.
However, since the demilitarized zone has been opened and the two Koreas are now on speaking terms, who in the hell knows what that will be like for the North Koran common people.

I've been researching North Korea for a while now to put myself in the shoes of those poor souls but I'm still learning a lot. Now I'm so grateful for the life I'm living in Canada, a safe and free country with plenty of food and kind people. Everyone should be grateful as well, regardless of the country they're living in. ♥It gives me chills to know that this isn't a historical event and that hundreds of thousands of people are suffering in real time, as you're reading this very comment. It also breaks my heart to see the sad faces in the images of North Korean people... I hope things get better for them although I really don't know how North Korea's endless cycle of hell will end, since their leader is still quite young and someone else will just take over him after he dies. Not to mention that NK's government will apparently threaten to start a nuclear war for whatever reason once he dies---which I genuinely hope isn't true, dear lord. Most likely, it isn't. I just wholeheartedly hope that things will get better. Love your videos Kento Bento!

So what you're saying is.... the American and South Korean soldiers at the border just need to hold a massive BBQ party right next to the line and use an industrial fan to blow the smoke towards North Korea and that's how NK will be liberated?
But seriously the only way to liberate NK is to starve not just their stomachs but their wallets as well. War won't work since Seoul is too close to the border. It's also only a 6 hour drive from Seoul to bottom of the peninsula.... so Korea's too small to be throwing bombs back and forth.

abby grace North Korea have their own custom server, it doesn't use packages from other severs eg, Google or General Internet Web.
They've banned everything, even play store from your mobile. VPN won't work, because you aren't allowed and it's impossible to connect to any other server except North Korea.
In your country you could pop an VPN and it'll trick your servers and connect to another. But I'm North Korea you can't connect to anyother cause you are constantly only connected to North Korea server.
And viewing any media as such, will be a DEATH SENTENCE.

i think the most viable option is the gobi desert as first of all
snow leopards and other predators are less likely to attack you and prefer to keep their distance from humans, however wolves can and do tend to attack you if your in a weakened state.
even though the climate is unpredictable, you can still survive the changing climate as the cold and heat can sometimes be balanced out, therefore it wont be a long period of time before you freeze, neither a long period of time before you burn, keeping you alive
the only issue is the mountainous terrain which if you keep at a good height , would increase chances of survival
