The only reason why I will choose Honor is because of their price for 12gb + 512gb are pretty damn good and also for camera hardware, otherwise I still prefer Samsung for their One UI, design, camera features, SamsungDex, fast update etc

From the looks of it Honor Malaysia did well by pricing the Magic 5 Pro at a good price and including 512gb in the mix. From what I know yes, software update is better on Samsung but these days people change their phones every 2-3 years. I rarely have anyone in my circle who's using a 5 year old phone as their main device.
Replying you right now with my Huawei P30 Pro since July 2019 and it is about to be 4 years of old... Did not experience any lag nor stuttering except insufficient storage due to maybe 20,000 photos lol... I'm seriously considering Honor to be my next upgrade

I can get the Honor Magic 5 Pro for around 850 euro if I extend my subscription for 2 years paying around 25 euro per month. That's a huge discount knowing the phone's listing price is at 1199. To put it in context S23 Ultra 256GB is around 1150 but with a subscription you get only 100 euro discount.
Everything that you said is true about the camera and performance. I got Magic5 Pro and it is really great device, also cheaper than S23 Ultra and have fast charger and some basic silicon casing and screen protection. Only feature that S23 Ultra has is the S-pen, but I don't need this.
From Germany here: Unfortunately, we barely hear of Honor over here, and only got the 5pro (no regular 5 or ultimate). It started nearly as expensive as S23plus here which is massively hyped, but by now, while S23ultra 12+512GB is still at least 1150 Euros, the Magic 5pro was sold for 760 Euros now during Black Friday weeks. Thats just insane.
Honor is just huawei bypassing the restrictions placed on them. Maybe this is Honor introducing their brand to the market. Once they are well known they can then jack up the price.

I am using hm4pro.. there is really rarely got update (not even on android 13 yet) Certain apps cannot open, need to uninstall and install again many times. The curve is really bad, too curvy. Camera quality actually really like potato, bad quality. Hard to find casing, need buy direct from china.

I have the Honor and Samsung, Honor is way better regarding battery live, battery charging time, camera & video quality. I use the Magic far more than the Ultra.
I'd still go for Samsung anyways, prefer OneUI over other UI. Plus, Samsung's camera output is still good enough to be called a flagship. DXOmark is...irrelevant nowadays, so it's not within my consideration when doing research about a phone. However, there's one thing I notice which is whenever a new phone launch and Lim decided to make a review, most of the content is how A is better than B, with A being the newly launched device. I actually hope that Lim will also include how B is better than A in the same video or else it might make the viewers think that A is the best while B is trash, although it's not in real life.

I got the honor 5pro, glitchy at best using gestures for navigation. Had to swipe up 3 times to get recent apps using nova launcher. Sent it back and stuck with s23u. After probably 250 comparison shots it took the better photo, especially zoom and low light.

Samsung gets 4 years android updates and 5 years security updates. Honor gets 3 years android and 5 years security. And yes although honor is limited to 15 minutes of video recording but in 4k 60fps. I would also choose honor because of the price
Regretting getting Samsung s21. Poor battery performance. Daily at least need to be charge 2x times. Not just poor battery performance, it doesn't comes with a charger. Paying extra RM 169 for a 25w charger, still need more than 1hr to fully charge if you're below 25%. Stop wasting money on Samsung phone.

I got the honor 5pro, glitchy at best using gestures for navigation. Had to swipe up 3 times to get recent apps using nova launcher. Sent it back and stuck with s23u.
After probably 250 comparison shots it took the better photo, especially zoom and low light.
The Honor is beautiful. There's a few beautiful ones now, nothing like the mental money of thus Samsung,

In my country Magic5pro costs the same as S23Ultra, so even though I would gladly get Honor, for the same money it doesn't make much sense :(

just got the new HONOR Magic5 Pro last weekend, until now quite nice. Especially the battery life and system, much much better than Magic4 and also better than other flagship phones I think！

Last point was the most important one for me: at first I had the s23u but I had to returned it because of the massive eyestrain of pwm flickering. Samsung gets 4 years android updates and 5 years security updates. Honor gets 3 years android and 5 years security. And yes although honor is limited to 15 minutes of video recording but in 4k 60fps. I would also choose honor because of the price

Poor battery performance. Daily at least need to be charge 2x times. Not just poor battery performance, it doesn't comes with a charger. Paying extra RM 169 for a 25w charger, still need more than 1hr to fully charge if you're below 25%. Stop wasting money on Samsung phone.
