Great episode Dan. I have the Erskine but is probably the only one I will own. I’ve always loved the look of these and have never seen a complete set. Really enjoyed this.
I love this show. Back in 1995, when I was around 12, my cousin, friend, and I were getting big into cards, but hadn't ventured into vintage. My friend found the Hank Sauer in his grandparent's attic. We thought it was a junk card - a food brand with a player we didn't know. So we looked it up in Beckett and it booked for like $150. We were SHOCKED at the listed value, and learned a lot about rare vintage that day. The Food issues from the 90's skewed us so heavily into how we saw that card. He still has it to this day.
This set had me at “flying hotdogs” haha So glad I picked up the Ennis in Cleveland. The Williams would be a dream card. Thanks for sharing Matt’s amazing set
Great show Dan! Matt has an awesome collection! I love this set and hearing the history of the set was fantastic! I did not know about the 55 booklet, very cool piece!
What a set to complete! Really enjoyed the interview with Matt and seeing the cards. Great story of how he got the Teddy. It will be fun to hunt down an upgrade. Thanks Dan
There are many ways to score a biggie outside of the normal buying options. Sometimes its just luck or keeping a keen eye out for things. Matt has one of the best eyes for cards I've ever seen.
I was at a big show in Chicago around 1988 when a former Wilson employee brought in a large group of these and sold them to Alan Rosen Mr Mint. I think there were multiples of each card. This was the find you guys talked about.
I love the determination to get the whole set ! Nice set .

Awesome set, thanks for having Matt on.

I love this story! Hank Sauer in an attic for the win!
Great set and even better video featuring two of the hobby's best!

Awesome show Dan. I added the Nellie Fox to my collection this year, such a fun set.
Great interview. Thanks for sharing.
I really like the Wilson Franks cards. Would love to find a signed Erskine someday.
I wonder if a signed one exists. I'd like to just get the Erskine card itself, but its pricey as are most of the WF cards.
@@DansVintageBaseballPC I actually saw one signed Erskine. If it ever pops up again I hope I have the funds to jump on it.

I didn't know about the 1955 issue until my visit to Mark's card room!
That is an awesome looking set. Thanks for sharing.
Nice show. Love the Wilson cards
What a great video. Two of my best hobby friends on together. Great accomplishment with the completion of the set. What’s going to be next?
Thanks Mark! Two of the very few people to visit the Hoyle Room in one video!
