As another lawyer who has interacted regularly with Paul, this was a very fun episode to hear about all the litigation. I sometimes forget--despite my law degree--that so much of our card collecting hobby has been aided or affected by litigation.
Another great and entertaining episode Dan. Who would of thought I would listen to two lawyers talk shop for an hour and enjoy it. 😂 Well done gentlemen.
That was extremely interesting and somehow enjoyed listening to two lawyers. Your great personalities though overwhelm the profession's reputation .I did not know the story of Keith Obermann and the SPCC cards or Johnny Mize. Fast hour.
Regarding the Buzz Aldrin lawsuit - So if a QB of today wins a college national championship on a last second iconic throw or a NFL QB throws a game winning last second TD, a company can create a likeness of that historic event and not be sued? An "event" seems really subjective.
Neither one of you looks like a lawyer. Who ya trying to fool?? I was hoping you would talk about Stan Musial being absent from Bowman and Topps cards from 1954 through 1957, as well as having only an All-Star card in 1958 Topps.
@@cryptonite8495 That was not really a legal issue, it was really just Musial’s personal decision. Ted Williams weird card history has more of a connection to the legal fights between Topps, Bowman, and Fleer.
Fun interview! Good questions, and Paul is great.
