Yasss that's the type of video i needed to hear today, your honesty regarding the TH-cam journey is golden Nick so we can understand more what's up and what's the next step ;-)
Thank you Nick! Livestreaming helped me overcome my apprehension of being on camera. After an hour long livestream, your fear pretty much disappears. It was a very good growth experience for me.
One thing that I can definitely say is that I've learned A TON from you and I would like to thank you for all your tips and advices and somehow you motivated me to start my own channel. Now that I have around 1.5k subs I still feel that my channel is moving slowly, even that I make a unique content on YB and nobody else is doing such content like mine. Hopefully YB will soon push my content on people's home page. Thanks Nick for your great content over the years! 👍👏
Just looked at your most recent video. I think it would be helpful if you spoke in your videos. Really cool stuff, but when it starts just having a voice over saying something like "I'm going to build Pewdiepie out of these magnets" type of thing it could be really helpful to your audience retention.
@@NickNimmin Thanks si much Nick!Soooo Much appreciated 🙏! I would like to ask you.. shall I speak just at the beginning of the video? ....as you said I shall mention the fact that I'm building such and such portrait out of magnets....Because if I speak on the whole video it will make no sense for me. People will get distracted by the voice and will not pay attention to the magnets building it self! Thanks so much!
Just posted my first videos a week ago today. I have 5 videos now. 5 subs, under 100 total views. I have to say though I enjoy making videos, good luck to everyone on their TH-cam journeys. Thanks for the solid advice Nick!
One thing I have almost never seen on TH-cam for advice, is how to keep viewers engaged and enjoying content towards an entertainment based channel? Such as drawing, funny videos etc. There’s always a lot for blogging or tutorials, but I don’t see entertainment almost ever. Thanks for all the great advice.
Currently I have two completely separate channels. One is capitalizing on my professional expertise(accounting, excel, business applications). The other more on my hobbies: cars, motorcycles, home repairs, and gadgets/tinkering. I think it also makes sense to include in my hobby channel a diary or journal of the professional channel. What I have done, stats as I go along, what is working, what isn't, etc. I love your channel! Many of the things you espouse, I had learned, implemented. But I have learned a lot. Perfectionism had kept me from starting. Thanks for pushing everyone to just get going!!!
That's exactly what I did at first, needless to say it didn't work and I got bummed out. Now I've found that implementing the tips of successful channels like yours has made a great difference! Thank you so much for all the work you do to make it easier for the little guys😊
Hey Nick, I don't think every youtuber should go to the live events or that they feel lonely making videos home. You are extrovert so this is your point of view, but I wouldn't recommend it to all the introverts (myself included). Of course connecting with other youtubers can be very helpful and I'm not arguing that, I just myself like making videos alone and if someone find them interesting I will definately connect and chat with the viewers :)
Your videos are so insightful man. I just started uploading TH-cam videos for fun, I think I'm gonna try incorporating some of the stuff you say in your vids and see how it goes. Thanks a so much for all the help Nick
Never fail to share the good things. I’m implementing proper stuff on my new channel cause maaan I messed up this one. Hope I can bounce back from the mistakes on this channel
Loving the look + feeling confidence and pride has been *huge* for me in making content. I’ve never heard anyone else say that before and I found it super validating. Thank you!
Nick, great tips as always. In the last year of me playing around on TH-cam your advice and recommendations have already helped me. Now that I've decided to start over from scratch, I'm hoping to use even more of your tips to help my channel grow.
Just coming near 1000 subs. And i just came back to thank you and also to remind me things missed on my journey since February (25 videos of which 5 are shorts)
Nick thanks for Helping us without you we might never grow our Channel the right way and Be patient. people who wants to start a Yt Channel. because someday you will get that Milestone you want
Posted my first video to TH-cam in December of last year, just before January 2021. I'm close now to seeing my channel just over 200 subs. There were solid moments in the beginning where it felt like I was pushing a dead car up a hill. As I've been going I kept an eye on some other channels in the same window saying "yeah, he's grown by 25%, he's grown by 15%". It feels good because even though the organic numbers for those channels come to figures like nine thousand or fifteen hundred subs, my channel has grown over 400% from 20 subs in January. I know I'm on my way, it's all relative.
I'm super excited Nick! :D........I just noticed my watch hours are going up and although my subs are not even 50, (one month into this business already) I kind of begin to understand how this works. Another expert on these things told me the more videos you upload, the more chances are so the algorythim will recommend to people so this coming week and in the future I'm gonna go full steam uploading videos, 6 a week, with only one day off. Doesn't take me that long, from beginning to end, about an hour or so......I guess this is the key to get started and be on my way to get monetized faster, the more videos, the more people will see them, even on TH-cam, not just my personal friends and family. I'm only curious how many more subs will I get in 3 months from now. I'm gonna work on that starting tomorrow.....Super excited!! :D :D :D......
This is phenomenal advice, but it's tough to try and do all of these right from the start. It can be daunting a little bit! Always make a list! It definitely helps me! Thanks for another great video!
I don't think starting off with random content is bad, just make sure you start focusing on what gets a lot of views and avoiding what flops or TH-cam will see that a lot of your subscribers are ignoring your content and will stop sharing it with others.
Hey Nick, you are really awesome. By following your advice I got 1500 new subscribers & 8000+ watch time in only 28 days. Previously I had only 1000 subscribers in my 12 years old channel. Love from Bangladesh
That advice to oneself kind of requires a confidence that says you really are gonna make it. You already know you will get there, and which path it is. You just want it faster. Some channels fail... Some siblings or partnerships end up in Why Did You Drag Me Into This Disaster..☮️ just saying.. 🙃 Like failure makes you wish you had seen what was really going on, and had stopped being involved. Success makes you wish you had not struggled and hesitated, but made it sooner and easier... Hindsight.
i made videos teaching english on my other channel, had 90 subs. then i realized that's not what i wanted to do, so i took a step back and then decided to start this new channel. i only have 8 subs so far, but i'm making so much more content because it's actually stuff that i like talking about
This was such a great video Nick🥰! I’m glad I have my sister to go through this TH-cam journey with me also❤️! We really help keep each other motivated 🙏🏿! Thank you for sharing 🤗!
2 things that really hit close were focusing on quality content over metrics and pacing. For me it has been a real struggle with both because I tend to go really in on things I want to do which has meant I am laser focused on getting new videos and learning the ropes (editing, styling, filming) and all while dealing with my own mental health issue. The end result is that I put in the time to do things, and then get really down when I see the videos not getting views or not picking up subscribers. I have to constantly remind myself to slow down and actually enjoy myself so that I don't get burnt out and so I can create content that actually helps people and is entertaining. It is these kinds of videos that you put out that really help anchor me and help me stay focused, like you said, TH-cam is a long term thing and staying motivated is the important part. Everything else will follow. My question would be, what is the best way to figure out where you can improve before you start getting enough views to know what your audience likes or doesn't like? My biggest problem right now I think is that I am working on content, and not really getting enough views yet to know what is going to work and what doesn't work.
