I got the A7SIII before the FX3 was announced, and honestly... I'm cool with it. I also use the A7SIII as a stills cam, so I prefer the body. I do really covet that top handle with the integrated audio.

I hardly ever subscribe to some channels, because I know they're not so important to me. Sometimes when I'm bored I'll just go there and watch or listen some videos. I only press subscribe button, when profiles, in my opinion deserves to be more recognized and will help me also. Like I saw your first video months ago, and thought "ehh.. another youtuber talking about camera, gears and filming process..." and youtube lately suggested me more of your videos, and I started to watch more of your videos and this is the one when I realized that you put really good effort in your videos and your videos will help me also with filmmaking. So I subscribed, because I know that this guy will not waste my time. He will suggest or talk about something that can change my life :) Not the greatest english, but I think you understood me. Never apologize to anyone about how you speak in other language. Let them try to speak in your native language :) Anyways, thank you for making amazing videos, will be waiting more of them and try to learn something new from them!

The big takeaway from this video are the air quotes you threw around 'film makers' at 8:28. TH-cam has a huge trend of calling everything cinematic and labelling every video as a 'film' - when the majority of projects shown around here are independents shooting clips for their own enjoyment.
And that's the most important part - that's what emanates from your presentations the most: having fun. As you mentioned, capturing high quality video and editing them together has never been easier (from a technical standpoint). Enjoying the process is what gets us through the hard work that is required to create something engaging. Using four days to include a creative joke as an intro to a camera review is a great example of that.
People shouldn't get hung up on the TH-cam buzzwords, but to prioritize their own interests and derive meaning and enjoyment from them. This video encapsulates that ideology well.

If you grab a v90 sd card you can shoot in the highest codec you just can’t go full 4K 120fps. However I somehow managed to get 120 4K in s&q mode on just a v90 card.

Love seeing all your amazing filmmaking talent but also feeling like you’re just having a casual chat with the viewer. I’m just getting into filmmaking on my phone and am really looking for a solid hybrid camera that does 4k 60 uncropped. I definitely Sony has a brighter future than Canon for how much they’ve improved their cameras over the past few years!

Just got one and it’s hard to get the shadows in slow motion to not look noisy. Maybe I just don’t know what i am doing but it does clean up at 12800 ISO. It’s just a lot to learn little things from my a6600 which doesn’t have it. Maybe I don’t know how to properly grade slog 3? Maybe slow motion adds noise?

Danny likes THICCC mics. Hahaha. Great video. Definitely trying to learn from your style as a youtuber, because even your talking head vids are entertaining. I'm totally with you on pretty much all these points. While I don't have an FX3, I've got the FX9, and an A7iii, and there's times I got for A7iii simply because it's smaller and lighter and faster to work with. I'm saving for an FX3 as a B-Cam to the FX9, that'll honestly probably get just as much more more use on run and gun projects, with the FX9 being mainly for the larger corporate jobs, or bigger short film type jobs. I do love how your channel isn't normally gear focused. There's no way as a small channel I could ever stay on top of the latest gear to be able to compete with a lot of those channels, so it's good to see there can be success without constant camera reviews. This comment was really ADHD haha.

hey man! I strongly suggest transcoding to ProRes for premiere. I work on PC and that is what I do for my A7SIII I transcode it to ProRes 4:4:4 with HLG support. Use media encoder for that. Literally makes the computer feel like it is editing 1080p. It is NUTS! Even 4K 120fps is buttery Smooth in premiere. And it edits much nicer with Lumetri Color IMO.

Hey man question! I know you said you only shoot at 640 and 12,800 iso and control the light with variable ND or f-stop. My question is, if your on ISO 640 and your lens is wide open, but your still just slightly too dark, would you jump all the way up to 12,800 iso, and go extreme on the variable ND? Or if you were that close, would you just bump up the iso to like 800-1000 even though its not a native iso?

As an experienced cinematographer who owns an FS7 and just purchased the FX3, I appreciate your honesty and humility. I myself am trying to figure out how best to use this camera.
I just shot a two camera interview with the FX3 as 2nd CU camera set on auto focus with a Sony 85/1.4 lens. Worked out perfectly. This is one application.
Would I, should I go out and use the FX3 as the principal interview camera? That is what I am weighing against what you mentioned re: will producers feel like I'm somehow cheating them by using this as opposed to the FS7 which they sometimes request. Another filmmaker mentioned asked "does this camera look professional" and he decided that putting a matte box in front does the job. Maybe that's the solution for that.
