    360 degrees is the full duration of each frame, 180 is half, 90 is quarter and so on.

    really good video, fx30 is getting the shutter angle update so wanted to have a better understanding what itll do. sounds like i wont need to mess with the frame rate wheel and just worry about the shutter angle, does it tie in still with the frame rate settings in the camera ?
    for example the 24 fps 60fps and 120 fps selection in the menue, not the adjustable dial one.

      @JedDobre  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks :)
      If what you’re asking is if you’re in 24 60 or 120p will your selected shutter angle automatically update depending on your frame rate, that answer is yes! :)

    Brilliant video. I am from Spain. I'm going to film a radio controlled car race (RC Car). After several tests I decided to film at 50 FPS and a shutter of 1/200. Do you think this is a good idea? Thank you.

    Hey thanks so much for this video...I have a question for product videography,what's the best shutter angle to use for keying things out later

    • @JedDobre
      @JedDobre  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends how fast the object is moving! 180 degree rule is always a good start. Going faster will reduce motion blur & give cleaner edges for your subject. (Can work well for higher frame rates!)

    What would be the equivalence of the shutter angle 172.8 in shutter speed ?

  • @oddballmedia

    Really good video. Thanx. So if I shoot 25fps with 90angle that is the same 100shutter. Correct. Will this work for livestreaming sports?

    • @JedDobre
      @JedDobre  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks!
      If you’re shooting 25fps ideally use a shutter of 180 deg or 1/48 (if the camera will do it) or 1/50 if that’s the option available!

    • @oddballmedia
      @oddballmedia 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@JedDobre yes, but if I want less blur I should use 90angle? I find it hard to get god balance between blur and sharpness doing livestream action.

    • @JedDobre
      @JedDobre  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah if you want it to have less blur then go faster with your shutter angle/speed!

  • @VidGraphy
    @VidGraphy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You are So Perfect but , in 03:06 of the video , 24fps for 90 degree shutter angle needs 96 shutter speed not 196 , I guess You meant 45 degree

    I video my grandchildren at play and often want to extract stills from the video footage. Shooting at a sub-180 shutter angle gives me both very acceptable video and far more "sharp enough" frame pulls.

    • @JedDobre
      @JedDobre  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah unfortunately when trying to capture both at once you need to choose one to prioritise! :)

    • @numbersix9477
      @numbersix9477 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@JedDobre Unfortunately, you are correct. HOWEVER, since I work for free, my "clients" don't complain about the shortcomings of either the videos or the stills.
      (I doubt that they even see the shortcomings. My hybrid typically produces both better stills and better videos than do the cellphones my children exclusively use -- regardless of the shutter angle settings I choose to use.)

    • @JedDobre
      @JedDobre  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@numbersix9477 yeah so many people won’t be able to tell the difference! But you’ll always know! Good cameras will always enable you to make the best possible images! Happy shooting!

    In this video, I see a speed ramping. Is that possible if you're shooting 24p with a lower shutter angle?

    • @JedDobre
      @JedDobre  ปีที่แล้ว

      Where abouts do you see the ramp? I filmed this almost a year ago!
      You can technically ramp anything.. your playback just won’t be smooth if you make the playback fps less than your project frame rate. If that makes sense

    • @cdreyes81
      @cdreyes81 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JedDobre I'm referring to the guys playing soccer.

    • @JedDobre
      @JedDobre  ปีที่แล้ว

      With that one.. they would have been filming at let’s say 120fps but playing back at 24fps which means it will be displaying every 5th frame.. paired with the faster shutter speed for the frame rate that’s what give it that choppy look.. then they’d slow it down 5x to 24fps & now every frame is displayed & there for giving a smooth look & our speed ramp effect.
      You can film in 24/60/120/240 & play back at 24 frame per second.. the closer that capture rate is to the project time line the smoother it will look. You could play back 1000fps at 24p if you wanted.. just wouldn’t look very good!!
      Hope that helps!
