  • The USS Enterprise 1701-C, or as I like to call it, "The Big Chonky Boi", is one of the Enterprise's we don't spend more then an episode with. Nevertheless, it is a beloved ship and deserved the respect an of her name. Plus it's not much of an Enterprise lineage display without the C now is it? So lets make sure history never forgets the name, Enterprise.

The XL has an impulse engine, that's a big advantage over the smaller one.

Ya, but I had to actually pick up the XL to try and find it. It's a really small detail I've never noticed until now.
Edit: Which is fine assuming it's the same on the actual modle

The smaller ship while missing the dorsal impulse engine is.also missing the rear phaser strips on the upper rear of the saucer.

I believe I knew about the impulse, but not the phaser strip. Obviously the XL will have more smaller details so I don't point out every one, but the phaser strip is a pretty big omission. Thanks

They could of putted a metallic/chrome plate inside the deflector, I’m just going off of how I’m thinking of building my model kit I’m not lighting it so I’m looking for natural ways of causing lighting effects glow in the dark paint would be great but would work if could get different Color glows

    Thanks for your review
I'm not a fan of Enterprise C. Budget was too small to build the original concept, , much more a mix of Enterprise B and D elements.
Thanks Eaglmoss to have made the model of Probert's original concept.

I've always really liked the C actually. Sure it's a bit more D then the original which was a blend. But the C is the equivalent of the 1960s computer.
The TMP era was Starfleet standardizing all their technology after rapid Federation growth and all the crazy variety we see in Discovery. The Enterprise A and B reflect the fact they are hyper advanced through their slick and clean design. The Excelsior class is the pinnacle of this TMP era achievement by being all that and huge. These ships were so advance they are still viable options over a century latter.
The Enterprise D and other Galaxy class kitbashes are simmilar. After a century of calm stability and prosperity these ships are the vessels of luxury and crafted with artistic curves and elegance. They are as much works of art as they are practical machines.
But the Enterprise C is the 1960s computer. It's the middle ground and testbed of much of the advanced technology the D would one day receive. But it's not all there, so you can still see what was with the angular nacelle pylons, rigged neck, and interior design. But primarily all the new stuff is experimental and beyond cutting edge. In other words, it's huge. It has yet to be miniaturized and so everything about the Enterprise C is just a bit overly large and chonky. The Nacells are HUGE, relatively larger then any other Enterprise. It's saucer is thick with large separation between decks and it's secondary hull bulges with no room for the indents or elegant curves of the B and D.
The original concept is nothing more then a blend between the B and the D. But the real Enterprise C is full of character and story and personality. I know it was born out of budget problems and simple shapes are easy. But it's inherent simplicity, bulk, and general non-elegance is a large part of why it's so well remembered despite appearing in only one episode.

The sag on the pylons is alright because it looks more like the filming model

I like this ship! The details of the saucer section's sensor points could be improved by Eaglemoss. But overall a great ship!

If you mean the yellow bits I agree. (I think yellow bits like that are usually RCS but honestly it's been a good while since I've seen TNG/DS9/Voy). If it weren't for that I'd say the detailing on the saucer was perfect for the Ent C

Eagle Moss should also put the display points at the bottom of the ship, instead of using the clip on display support for the xl ships.

Problem is usually 90% of the weight is the saucer section at the top/front. So if you supported the bottom of the center of mass the plastic neck would sag over time or break completely under the stress of the saucer. Also for some models the center of mass is in a place where the geometry of the model prevents just placing it on a stand. Besides that's what the shuttles do and it sucks.
I do agree though that stand quality is generally a problem with Eaglemoss. Usually it's fine but some models are REALLY bad, and the can't even seem to always make stands that fit well in the base, which should be a standard mold
