I went to Bersk and Novosibersk 2012 in May and friends took me to this beautiful beach. It was really warm +30 weather which was abnormal. It was my first time travelling to another country and it changed life for sure
@@AlinaMcleod Definately try! One more recomendation for future - when you'll visit Altai stay in a hotel called Altika. I always stay there it is one of the best (or maybe even the best one).
Absolutely agree!!! Mountain Altai is something special, ain't no other place in the world like that! But actually I like that not so many people know about Altai, it helps to keep this place as it is.

Unfortunately, over 20 years here have allowed me to become accustomed to the amazing things Russia has to offer. Thanks for tweaking my memories.

Thanks Alina. Very interesting how you see my Novosibirsk. We see it different. We have long winter and see Novosibirsk in snow. Some time all frozen to -40C. And life in big megapolis looks like stoped. Bad that no one tell you see Akademgorodok and Botanic garden. Very beautifull place.
Wonderful video Alina! I like those public transit buses- they look unique. But the real highlight is definitely the circus! Brought back some childhood memories :)

For the foreigns, who wants to visit Nsk: Main Railway is NOT safe place. Be careful, many bad people there. Zoo is one of the best in Russia, greatly advice to visit.

I can really suggest to go to Akademgorodok in spring, summer or autumn: spring to see the nature explode in beautiful colors, summer to enjoy the beach and fun, and spring to see the most amazing shades of gold and reds in the trees. Please add why to visit in winter :)

Впрочем если на Вашем вокзале постоянно танцуют полуголые бразильянки и стены вокзала усыпаны разноцветными светодиодами,-тогда Вам крупно повезло.)

Thanks for the vid, but that was not a “Red square”. Red square is in the center of Moscow. It was a “Lenin’s square”, which is crossed by the Red prospect - the main and the longest street

It's so great that you traveled so far :) But I don't recommend to anyone to arrive there in winter. It will be snowy and also you will know what it's like to have -31 Fahrenheit outside.
If you do get back to Novosibirsk, be sure to have someone show you around the academic research complex, the "Institute" in local parlance. The city is filled with research institute.

I was told that wherever you go, there will be an Irish pub and a Mexican Restaurant. I found both in Novosibirsk, so I guess that's true. After seeing your video, I should probably feel lucky that I went to the ballet while I was there. I didn't get to go to a hockey game though.
It's pity, you not visit Lenin's square and downtown in friday evening, most interesting is in that time :) teens on bikes and boards, street dancers and musicians, perfomances nearby restaurants.
The railroad station was opened in pre-Soviet times indeed but it was a small station as Novosibirsk (Novonikolayevsk back then) was also a small town. The current station was opened in 1939.
Another great piece, and I'm looking forward to Vladivostok. The farthest east I've been was Checkpoint Charlie while the wall was still up and Red China, where I met Vice Premier Deng in the Great Hall of the People. At one of our meals the wait staff was playing records in the background that taught them English with a British accent.
Know this City well. Akademgorodok, the University town is amazing and was well planned.. Any visitors to Novosibersk, I recommend taking a visit to Altay Mountains and the Altai Republic.. Askat, a small alternative tourist town is well known for great artists who live, paint and sell their paintings.. It has amazing surroundings and a great river running past called the Katun River.
So cool! While you added Kazakhstan to my list, Russia is a place I've wanted to visit for a longtime. Apart from the paperwork, my biggest obstacle is in narrowing down where to visit. Moscow is a no-brainer, but there are sooo many other places: Великий Новгород, Нижний Новгород (a friend's from there), Ярославль, pretty much anyplace along the Golden Ring. And then there's Санкт-Петербург. Whew.
Timurlane100 glad I helped put Kazakhstan on the list! Yes, it is tricky to choose where to go since there is SO MUCH to see. I have ran into that myself. I guess the best advice I can give is make a priority list and then visit around the areas as well. Jumping all over the place takes a lot of time. Hope you’re able to do it sometime!

Sort of. I'm a South African living in Novosibirsk. It's a river "beach". Having lived in South Africa and experienced salt water beaches, I can't personally consider the ob river "beaches" a beach. But it's as close as a Siberian will get living in Siberia
@@ZeroSen07 Yeah I know... short of travelling south to salty oceans or going to Europe. The ob is pretty much all there is in Siberia. I didn't realise this when my wife and I were still in the southern hemisphere. She always wanted to go to the beach and I couldn't understand it because I had lived my whole life only experiencing a salt ocean beach. Then when I moved to Siberia, everything was understood and I felt very bad that I did not take my wife every day to the beach whilst we still lived in the south. Many promises of cruises in the Mediterranean have been made to make up for it ;)

This is not Central Park. This is Square of May 1st. May 1st is a Holiday of Work and Friendship in Russia. :) Central Park close to this location. You need to go about 500 meters to the left from Theater of Opera and Ballet and you will find park. :)
Hello, Your Videos on Russia are very Beautiful. Russia is a very cheap place to live compared to any Western country I think. Per Capita income is very low (As low as $500 a month) but people are living happily. Russian Buildings are stunning and most of them are painted nicely. Thanks.
I guess, it depends on places.The bigger ones, the better chance that people can speak English even fluently, especially from a service area. So, i don't think you should be afraid of that, especially visiting big cities and tourist places.
Nice video :-) Except Krasnaya ploschad is absolutely not that - it’s Ploschad Lenina (Lenin’s Square), the longest street is called Krasny Prospekt, maybe that’s what has got you confused. And of cause that wasn’t a Central Park, it was Pervomaysky Skver (May the 1st Alley), actual Central Park is a bit further :-) Sorry for being that guy :-))))

Timurlane100 glad I helped put Kazakhstan on the list! Yes, it is tricky to choose where to go since there is SO MUCH to see. I have ran into that myself. I guess the best advice I can give is make a priority list and then visit around the areas as well. Jumping all over the place takes a lot of time. Hope you’re able to do it sometime!

Sort of. I'm a South African living in Novosibirsk. It's a river "beach". Having lived in South Africa and experienced salt water beaches, I can't personally consider the ob river "beaches" a beach. But it's as close as a Siberian will get living in Siberia
@@jared4670 we also have a "beach" on Ob sea, up the river. It's quality is poor, but we have no other options...
@@ZeroSen07 Yeah I know... short of travelling south to salty oceans or going to Europe. The ob is pretty much all there is in Siberia. I didn't realise this when my wife and I were still in the southern hemisphere. She always wanted to go to the beach and I couldn't understand it because I had lived my whole life only experiencing a salt ocean beach. Then when I moved to Siberia, everything was understood and I felt very bad that I did not take my wife every day to the beach whilst we still lived in the south. Many promises of cruises in the Mediterranean have been made to make up for it ;)

This is not Central Park. This is Square of May 1st. May 1st is a Holiday of Work and Friendship in Russia. :) Central Park close to this location. You need to go about 500 meters to the left from Theater of Opera and Ballet and you will find park. :)

Hello, Your Videos on Russia are very Beautiful. Russia is a very cheap place to live compared to any Western country I think. Per Capita income is very low (As low as $500 a month) but people are living happily. Russian Buildings are stunning and most of them are painted nicely. Thanks.

I guess, it depends on places.The bigger ones, the better chance that people can speak English even fluently, especially from a service area. So, i don't think you should be afraid of that, especially visiting big cities and tourist places.

Nice video :-) Except Krasnaya ploschad is absolutely not that - it’s Ploschad Lenina (Lenin’s Square), the longest street is called Krasny Prospekt, maybe that’s what has got you confused. And of cause that wasn’t a Central Park, it was Pervomaysky Skver (May the 1st Alley), actual Central Park is a bit further :-) Sorry for being that guy :-))))
