Evening Keith, Fellow Joiner here based in the UK... I've been in the trade for 13 years now from the age of 16 and I can confirm your videos are unbelievably satisfying to watch.. you are a perfectionist something which I strive to be! Great technique and skill keep it up please loving your videos!
Hi Keith, you could put threaded inserts in the underside of the shelf and threads on the top end of the posts with the bottom just resting on the cabinet top. Then there won't be any holes in the top of the cabinet so it could be re-used without the shelf if desired. Also, attaching felt under the posts would help minimise damage to the cabinet top.

Hi Keith. Great video, thanks. Lots of shared knowledge. At 5:28 you say the doors will get 1/2" walnut banding on the edge so you trace lines with a 1/2" setup block. I am a little confused here because in the outro scene there seems to be the 1/2" walnut banding but also a reveal that looks like 1/8". So how do you take the reveal into account when you trace the door with the setup block? can you explain? Thanks a lot for the dedictaion you put in your inspiring videos.
Great question! Unfortunately, this was 2 years ago and I don't quite remember. LOL. My usual reveals are 3/32", so I must have taken an additional 3/16" off the bottom and 1 side to account for that before applying edge banding.
@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking Understood! Thanks a lot! I really appreciate that you personally answer all the comments! Few respected authors do it. Thanks again!

Yay! Thank you so much! I think I really had my work cut out for me using the epoxy and brass on a round object. Working with it on a flat surface would be much easier. Not sure of your application, but hopefully some of my failures will help you with your project 👍
Really amazing work, Keith! It looks beautiful! 😃 About epoxy, those things happens... But a heat gun or something really helps with that! Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks! I used a heat gun quite a bit, but I think since the consistency of the mix was so thick and I used the faster drying hardener, the bubbles just didn't have a chance to make it to the surface and pop off.

Great video. I'm interested in seeing how you dial in the epoxy brass inlays. I tried that on my own project and it didn't come out very well.
