My first amateur rally build was a Fiero when I was 16. I still have that car, but it's a few generations of rebuilds later with a manual gearbox Toyota 2GR V6 I planned on using for a Celica FWD build. All new suspension and everything to give a solid mix of grip and comfort for touring. Body mostly original but with a slight different height (I liked it when it was actually raised a bit for rally, so it's basically a wannabe Lancia Stratos in terms of height and tire style). With some common complaints fixed, they're not bad little cars for what they offer for the price. I have two Opel GTs (One all stock, one with a turbo LE5 1.4l I4) that blow both the Fieros I own away in a lot of categories, but all of them are fun to drive.
In highschool I drove one & really liked it; what put me off buying one was I'd see them pretty often in the junkyard burnt to a crisp. I ended up going with a 325i instead.
Enjoyed the torn bar code sticker on the back of the rear view on the red replica. It says everything the guys who build and keep these things. Also liked the puffs of oil smoke out of the exhaust. It's always fitting to use junkyard engines in the replica cars without going through them. When they get too bad, just get another one from your local auto recycler. Zero mention of it being a Fiero, aside from the picture of its engine, but a non-car person wouldn't know its about 1/3rd the size, but if you know even a little you can obviously tell just looking at the fenders etc, but it looked just like all the other kit cars.
Impressive. Almost as impressive as Bob's humor and charisma. However, there is NOTHING like the sound of that Italian V12 pulling up next to you. I'll never forget the rumble of that first time. I love the sounds of engines and sitting at a stop light in my youth, hearing that roar as it came to a stop right next to me, thinking "What is that? That is NOT a V10. That HAS to be a V12!" And sure enough, at green oaks at an under pass in Arlington, TX of all places, a Lamborghini Diablo pulled up next to me. I became a man that day.

Years ago my coworker had a Ferrari F40 Fiero kit car. From 20 feet going 20 MPH you'd think it was the real thing - it was surprisingly nice. it only had the 2.8 FI V-6 engine like this car though. He sold it and got an actual Ferrari 360. That car stops traffic where ever he parks. I think he made a better choice with the real Ferrari. Except for parts maybe...

Hey Hoovie, years ago back when the Countach was being sold new, Harry Levinson of Harry Levinson's men's clothing in Indianapolis had one. I remember him pulling up and parking it along the windows of the Friday's on the north side of Indy. He got out then walked around the car and opened the door for his wife/girlfriend. She was in a dress and heals, she turned sideways in her seat and put her feet out the door. He then grabbed her hands then pulled her up and out very smoothly, I was impressed. His car looked like a twin to yours, white with a red interior.
The top air intake vents don't look proportionate, but one of the better exteriors I've seen. I saw one at a car show last summer and it took a bit to tell if it was a kit car.
Tyler, lots of good men know firsthand what you’re going through. You approach conflict with goodwill and the desire to resolve amicably. And then your adversary shows themselves to be the reptile you never imagined they were. Fight the good fight.
I remember watching the video of you buying it in New Year’s Eve 2019. Man what a special time of life was before something came and changed history forever in the first month of a new decade.
As someone who daily drives an '86 Fiero, it's great to see you enjoying one! If you ever decide to add one to the fleet, check out my local club, the Kansas City Fiero Owner's Group! We've got a myriad of cool swapped cars with all sorts of engines, and we've even got a couple of kit cars in the group (including a beautiful 3800SC-swapped Mera)!
Don't sell it yet man. Hold on to it, keep it up in shape and healthy, keep the mileage where it's at - and in another decade or 2 you can sell at auction up in the millions, no doubt about it.
I’m of the same opinion with the Fiero as I am the Firebird. The Formula is way better than the GT. If you happen on one, I would grab it to buzz around in.
Stop fixating on the Countach's damn value and just enjoy the thing for what it is: an iconic car that millions would love a chance to drive let alone own, but that you DO actually own. Cars like the Lambo were meant to have fun with, but the ridiculously wealthy have turned them into garage queen investments instead, to be pampered and coddled until it's time to sell for next hot commodity to throw their money at. Instead, break this chain of insanity and just enjoy the Countach for exactly what it is: one hell of a car. No Fieroghini will EVER give you that because you will always know that it's merely lipstick on a pig, one that's built totally on lies.
23:56 I bet that thing would rip with a modern engine and a properly tuned turbo set up. Even with the 3.1L upgrade. I saw a conversion to a 3.8 and it was a rocket.

Would love to ask a bunch of Gen Z’ers if the love the Countach or if it is just meh. Since I grew up drooling over it I can’t give an unbiased opinion.
@@jphilb It doesn't take many. I just looked up the production number and it's just under 2000 units total, I was thinking much more because they were made for many years. The Muira is only about a third of these numbers, and seem to start around $1.5MM
Personally I don't see much realistic value to it apart from being sentimental and exclusive. Other supercars are more comfortable, handle better, look better and have better parts availability. Owning a car like this purely for investment purposes is such a dull use of money.
The countach must be pretty meaningless to people who weren't around in the 80s. It only means anything to people because it was so insane back int''day
I have seen some truly nasty fake Countachs, that one didn't look to bad, don't get a fake one though the look of dissapointment on everyones face when they find out I don't think is worth the price.
The moral of the story. Never get married. If you do, you had better have a prenuptial agreement. His ex was a waitress when he met her. Now, Hoovie is forced to sell everything to give her half. It's absolutely BS
Correct, Hoovie will learn I'm old and spotted her years ago, her malice for poor Tyler was self evident.
Great video with Video Bob. Glad you met up in Vegas. I wouldn't shed a tear if you sold the Countach. You still have lots of gems in the hangar and could spend the proceeds to finance some future dreams.
I'll admit, I've never seen a real Countach up close and in person. However, I can spot anything built on a Pontiac Fiero. Having owned a Fiero and worked on it I know those cars extremely well. There is always some give away with kit cars and replicas that use Fiero donors.
A real one is lower and much wider; those are the two most obvious differences by eye.
That divorce must be costing a fortune to even contemplate selling that!! Keep strong man.
He split from the china lady ??

These women are greedy. Good for nothing.
@danionescu988 that's why I'm single 😆 no divorce headache
This is crazy
You're very gracious, Hoovie, for giving any video exposure of those hideous fakes.
I can imagine a car not being fun anymore when the value gets up there and you have to keep it perfect...
The Countach ASMR at the beginning is the only ASMR I will give my time to.
I was expecting that to be a fake countach and I was saying to myself "they sure did a damn good job if that's fake!
That reverse gear lockout switch is great!
You obviously don’t know what ASMR is.
@@vincedibona4687 I do know what it is, and that's why this kind is better :)
Bob seems like the kind of guy that could sell ice to an eskimo.
I mean, he did just sell a Pontiac to a Lambo guy
His ex wife is Canadian 😂😂
Really? You'd buy something from that goofball?
He already did...Twice :)
@@Globbshell yeah I’d buy something from that goofball, just for the experience 😂
From what i'm seeing, there's no way someone would confuse a kit car for a real countach.
And those who would, their opinion really doesn't matter anyways.
Anyone who can say the Alpine in their Countach ate a tape, while playing Danger Zone, has truly lived well.
Yep. That needs to be next on Hoovies list…. LS Swapped Fiero GT. Always loved those cars! So underrated!
22:45 Hoovie: "You're a big guy"
Bob: "For you"
Bob's accurate impression of Sam Hard (+100 points) Creative interpretations of real exotic cars ("Trans-terrosa" +100 points... because Trans-Am, "Count-ash" +90 points... it's still got a little ways to go.)
The problem with garage queens. You are to scared to drive them as it would depreciate their value, and what if someone rearends you?
One a sidenote, i think a backup camera in the countach would be a lovely thing to have.
Do you own a car collection? The biggest problem is finding time to drive them, nothing to do with being “scared.”
That's what classic insurance is for. A life of fear is not life.
@@freepieanchipsgarage Do you own a half a million dollar car? like what the hell are you talking about? Hoovie has talked multiple times how scary it is to drive it because he's afraid to damage it in someway.
@@Mastermind12358 irrelevant. He’s joking for the video, and he even drove it. I suspect it’s practically becoming uninsurable.
If you own a car collection, you understand the rigours of maintaining it and you don’t use infantile phrases such as “garage queen.”
@@Mastermind12358 and no, I’m not interested in some teenage male American riposte, either.
Mr Video Bob was hilarious in this one, nice work, both of you. The Wizard's Balls cameos need to be their own series.
Bob is great. Replicas not so much. Proportions are ridiculous. You’d hate it after 2 days, but great ad for Bob’s business.
It's the right time to sell it and get money back with profit before prices drop down..
Well done wizard keep it going bud Tyler sell whatever you have to it’s fine. Just get money for food and everything. Stay hydrated as well bud check in with Doug as well please
You can get a Countach replica which uses the Jaguar 5.3 V12, so you have the sound to go with the looks.
It takes all kinds!! Everybody gets to do what they like. Real or fake...."ridiculous" is the word that sums it up best.
I actually just picked up a replica Countach project last week! Can't wait to dig into it!
Don't even bother to hose off the grime.
That said I feel that 20k is too much money for them.
I was so upset Tyler didn't let Bob finish listing off the engines that fit in the Fiero!

Don’t sell it hoovie that car means a lot to you and plus in like 10- 20 years that car will be worth so much you could ever imagine so hold on to it please I bet if you sell it it would be your biggest regret ever!
Countaches have peaked in value. They are a pain in the ass to own and maintain and not good to drive. Exotic car prices in general are declining now.
I saw a Fiero replica on CarGurus for an insane price the other day, but it was listed entirely as a Countach.
Hey Hoovie I love your videos and content... the laughs and knowledge are well worth subscribing, I am sorry to hear the double edge sword has come to swing on the ownership I love that you finally achieved your dream car, but sadly it is time to send it on to the next custodian. If you cant enjoy it because your afraid you'll destroy the value then its no longer any fun to own and I am a man who believes in Jay Leno's mantra, cars are meant to be driven not sit in the garage.
Hang up before the wizard bills another minute 😂😂😂
Lawyers charge billable hours and minutes and cost more. 🤷♂️😠
The replicas all fall short unless it’s a full blown recreation with modern tech. The 25th anniversary Countach is a glorious automobile and undervalued for what it is.
Funny how the vintage Alpine ate Tyler’s Top Gun soundtrack, kinda appropriate really. Good to see the man’s balls have healed, he was showing off his new shorts in a athletic way.
Best wishes to all!!
Lol. Love the math, half of $500,000 / $600,000 is $20,000 LMAO.
This was a fun episode :)
Can someone explain why the wheels never fit the wheel wells of these replicas? I've never seen a replica without a 8" gap between the wheel, fender and offset?
Supercars are normally really wide. Donor cars are normally much narrower.
I like Video Bob's British impression..
Definitely keep the Countach a few more years, specially with all the EV's coming out
Sir, you are so busy with the channel that I understand why you skip leg day at the gym. Keep up the great work, and my condolences on your car collection shrinkage.
😂
Getaway sticks!
The most beautiful and most uncomfortable car I've ever driven.
Can't believe you haven't sold it already, it's the only good business decision any owner could make. The price may never be this high again. And the Red one looks like a real Hoovie I would love to see get finished and functional. Seems the red one would make a great video series.

...mine was the same...pure evil 🦹♀️
Don't sell it!!!! It's a fantastic car
No it isn’t 😂 Those are HORRIBLE cars. Literal giant pieces of crap. They’re built like garbage to begin with and don’t hold up to use at all. Not to mention, the interiors are worse than a same period Toyota 😂
They are fantastic to look at. Horrible to drive.
Isn’t love grand?.. sorry Hoovie.. we all saw your demise upon taking delivery of your mail order bride….always remember : living well is the best revenge…
I’d sell it. If you never want to drive it it’s not worth keeping.
Enjoyed seeing you two go for the test drive…lots of good jokes. :)
Good luck, Hoovie! 🙂
Sad that hoovie lost the house
That’s the way it works 🤷♂️😞
Love the ASMR button pushing at the beginning, feels like I’m sitting in the car playing with everything before I set off.
Tyler, lots of good men know firsthand what you’re going through. You approach conflict with goodwill and the desire to resolve amicably. And then your adversary shows themselves to be the reptile you never imagined they were. Fight the good fight.
Sounds to me that your ex wife's lawyer figured it out about the value of the car too
Bob is certainly quite the character. 😂
Begging for a video again that countach was. Thank you Tyler! Its what keeps me watching
I remember watching the video of you buying it in New Year’s Eve 2019. Man what a special time of life was before something came and changed history forever in the first month of a new decade.

just as you were saying how good the shifting was that downshift in your real Lamborghini Countach seemed a bit tough
Don't do it Tyler, it will just continue to appreciate its the best car ever made I was born in 97 and my dream car will forever be a countach
Please keep it going Hoovie, we miss your content.
No Fieroghini will EVER give you that because you will always know that it's merely lipstick on a pig, one that's built totally on lies.
in 10-15 years i think the values of the Countach will skyrocket.
23:56 I bet that thing would rip with a modern engine and a properly tuned turbo set up. Even with the 3.1L upgrade. I saw a conversion to a 3.8 and it was a rocket.
Ive never noticed until this video that you sound a bit like Jeff Goldblum. Love your channel.
Ok the guy who owns all those fake exotics, he is absolutely a comedian at heart lol
Great episode! I'm sure John Temerian is calling @RobertMoseley every 6 months asking him to sell his Countach!! 😂😂
Are those Chevette tail lights from the early model on the red LamboFiero?
Did I detect a little VanGuard Motors in that opening??😂😂😂
Honestly if I couldn't fit in a car I loved properly I'd have to sell it, it just makes no sense to keep it when it'll only need more repairs and cause you neck problems from having to sit in it so awkwardly.
House better than a Lamborghini. High maintenance and worry with a Lamborghini.
Bob’s a very funny guy.Dump any car you’re afraid to drive.Great info,as a six plus footer myself I’ll scratch another one from the list. Thanks for the fun video

The 25th anniversary is the ugliest Countach. The body kit looks adds so much unnecessary things to what was a wild but clean design.
Dont sell it, but that said someone near me is selling an HHR SS with a manual trans near me for 6500, should i jump on it?
yes. those are fun cars!
That was 24 minutes I will never get back….
You riding in the countach listening to danger zone and take my breath away ,makes me smile .
