I have a 2015 STI base and I really enjoy it. I went from a 2011 WRX to my current STI and for me it was night and day. I prefer a more tight steering and smoother transmission in the STI. For me the Limited STI is not something I really care about that includes the leather seats, moon roof, and upgraded wheels. The only thing I did to mine was put muffler deletes on and upgrade my wheels. It runs great and has plenty of performance for the back roads. I currently have 93,000 miles on it and no problems at all. So, overall my biggest complaint with the 2011 WRX was how the transmission felt. Great video on your feelings about the WRX and STI trim levels.
Just bought a 21 base STI. Loving it. I care about performance and less bells and whistles. I traded a 17 Outback Touring and already my rear hatch had stopped working on it. All electronic BS. I wasted money on all that electronic crap. Will never do it again. But new STI has great radio on base. I even think it sounds better then the Harmann Kardon stereo on my OB. Recaro seats. Who cares. The base sti seats are just as good. Don't care about a moonroof. Less to go wrong when you simplify, if you ask me. Great vid man.
Hi Laura, do you mind sharing what selling price and out the door price was. Were you able to negotiate at all? Hoping to buy the same exact car as you in the coming weeks. Also, did they let you test drive? my local dealerships are saying no test driving STIs. Did you have any issue with the current inventory? I want a lapis blue, but I might have to travel hundreds of miles to get it. Thanks for any info.
2015 WRX Limited... In my opinion I enjoy the leather seats it makes the interior a more pleasant place to be. The cloth felt really cheap to me, and I get that it's a performance-first car but the leather seats and moon roof really make it feel more complete on the interior. But I see the point, if you can save thousands not having those things definitely have to weigh the pros and cons.

For those still making a decision (I plan to buy after the 2022 release and a possible drop in VA body prices people jumping ship for more power) ... hearing your honest opinions would be great. You seem to be finding exactly what you want in the experiences you are sharing with us. CVT with frills to manual with none, back to a more comfy car soon with a looming STi purchase. I'm thinking of doing the opposite of what it appears you will have going for you ... I'll have a VA STi and look to buy a next gen after a few years WRX Limited, hopefully they have the CVT tightened up and available to really differentiate the two vehicles ;) I still try to let a rational part of me talk myself 'down' to a 6-speed or even a CVT as I have no issues with CVTs when done well and I won't be, what do the kids say? hooning it around to put much stress on it :p Why did you choose the 6 speed over the STi? Have you driven a BRZ? if so, how does the suspension 'harshness' compare between the three? How does the electric rack vs the hydraulic rack steering feel in comparison to you? How did the shifting linkage feel between the two? The gearing? Was it the 4500 vs 2500 rpm peak torque part of the decision? Any other interesting quirks between the two or other things that influenced your decision making? Fuel mileage a concern? The CVT and STi ratings are pretty close and my educated guess is most people drive an STi harder than the WRX as a whole or maybe better said, there would be very few people who buy an STi and try to 'hypermile' it for shits and giggles to get an idea of what it could actually do. Hey I own a 2015 wrx cvt and my car has showed up with a p0700 code which deals with the transmission more specifically the transmission control module has detected a problem but it isn’t specific do u guys know what’s going on. It has steady check engine, steady abs, blinking at oil temp, steady hill assist, steady vehicle dynamics control ( traction control) my transmission is also under the 100k mile factory warranty still, just wondering what’s going on before I take it to dealership and they start throwing quotes up my a** other than just replacing it
There are a couple codes the my WRX CVT and many other would throw every once and a while. I would reset and it would be fine for months. Taking it to a dealer is never a bad thing, especially because its under warranty!

Yes. In fact the series.Color cars are better. After having my base for 18 months...I should have gone base STi vs base WRX....or maybe not even Subaru... To many doodads missing off the base and premium trims
STI just have better performance compared to the WRX. STI is designed to be a race car not a comfortable car. So that’s why you’d think the WRX Is more comfortable ride. STI also does not have the rev hang, better control, faster and nicer brakes. I owned both but I traded the shitty Subie in for a Stinger when a Mazda 3 turbo beat me in a highway race......

Hey, do you have ig? I’d like to dm a couple questions; if possible
Or if you could HMU ig stay_puft_wrx
Base wrx all the way. Build it your way
Has your wrx's been reliable?
Pretty reliable!
Get the premium
Yes, limited is worth it. Lol - 2020wrxsti limited owner .
This was a good video.... I’m in between a base and premium... 🙄🙄 The moonroof is what I really want..
Moon roof is waste too me but each his own
Altezza447 - I’ve heard similar - what’s your reasoning? Some say headspace. Others say aerodynamics
@@lyricalprophet100 its a feature for extra money not really needed. Its hell when it leaks or goes off track. I had 99 si it had moonroof i never opened it.
Altezza447 - makes sense.. $2000 difference in trim levels - not much more for that other than the roof
@@lyricalprophet100 i believe you dont get power/heated seats with the base model
It’s the leather seats for me.
Good contents/info + from MA, C-L-S (comment like subscribe) is a must!
I will say if you are going to spend 30k for wrx that doesn't have all the goodies its not worthy. I'll prefer to buy a sti with all the goodies. plus 19 to 20 sti it doesn't sell any more the base model and you will get the type ra short block so you can make more 400 whp with no problems so bro just say that the wrx have better mpg thats all
2022 going to be completely different car!
JESUS CHRIST IS OUR GOD LORD OF LORDS AMEN AND AMEN HALLELUJAH🕊️🫡❤💯🙏
🤡
Who needs a moonroof? If you want one of them buy a camry!I have woe STI's.2017,2019,both are base models! You buy these cars for performance not creature comforts!
2022 is ugly imo
🤣
