Spaced repetition is a game changer!! Thank you for doing this video🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾First week in at law school and I'm like how am I going to get through all these torts..... this video!!!💪🏾💪🏾
I watched your video again, and I think I found out my problem I have - it's at 8:00 JUST 3 BULLET POINTS - when I see my cards... hell ... so overloaded. Can you maybe show us one card you made with Anki? Or show us how you control your self that your answer was right? I study economic and I have to write so many details on my cards ... It's so hard to control them when there are 12 facts I have to write down for one important thing.
Thank you so much! I just finished Torts I was so struggling to memorise all the cases (but the snail in the ginger beer bottle was too impressive to forget :D). Wish I could see your video earlier :)
A cricket ball bolted out of the cricket grounds and hit a woman on the head as hard as a stone. It was held that there was no breach of duty because the probability of that happening was so low. And that's the story of bolton v stone
I must say this is fantastic, guess what I am a Japanese guy working full-time whilst studying the law to hit the bar exam someday future. Even me, this is worth taking a shot. Love this tips.
I'm happy I found u sir. My ambition is to become a lawyer but the motivation is lacking and people are giving alot of negative points upon law degree more than tell how to ace them.🥺
Can you specifically make a video on how to effectively use Anki for law school? I downloaded it but idk how to make the best out of it. Thanks Gareth!
You looks more enthusiasthic and more expressive than before, and with that It's more Interesting listen what are You saying. ❤️ 3:00 The edition It's so dope xD
Hi! My problem with using anki for law school is the huge amount of time needed to build the flashcards for required 50 readings a night. Do you have suggestions for this? Thank you! I hope you respond.
Great question! When using Anki I wouldn't make cards for everything. Anki is great in helping you remember the 20% of things you really struggle with, rather than spending hours of your life trying to get everything on to a flashcard. Does that help? 👍🏻
Are you selling your notes and/or other flash cards on another site ? I’ve come across former law students who have done so. If you’re selling them, please send me info on how to procure. Thanks
Thanks for all the useful advice. but (as a first year), it seems (at least to me) difficult to incorporate the techniques in your videos (although they are great) if you have only a day or 2 to learn and memorize 3-5 cases (prof.'s chosen parts) for the next class. is there a recommended way to manage the load of legal and lecture material?
How are you currently trying to read/summarise cases? Most cases you don't need to read all the way through and you only need to remember a couple of lines of info for each case too - take a look at this video for example: th-cam.com/video/dFoHANskXmU/w-d-xo.html
hey, sorry.. i wanna ask u something. i just come to the university and i choose law too. i wanna ask you, are you reading the whole cases before made the space repetition? thanks in advance.
Thank you!! My best tip for memorising longer pieces of text is to write down the first word of every sentence and then use that as a prompt to remember the whole thing. I find the hardest part of memorising longer text is just getting that first word of each sentence. But when you get the first word, the rest of the sentence just seems to come to me. Then once you can recall the entire article using your list of words you can gradually look at those prompts less and less until you don't need them at all. The other tip I have is to use different stimuli to memorise it. For instance, record it so you can listen to yourself saying it, write it down, repeat it aloud, and so on. The more 'angles' you can find to memorise it the easier it will be for you to recall it! :)
@@heygarethevans just wow! You are the only youtuber I know who answers questions in YT and in details. By the way, I am a 1st year law student in the Philippines.I will definitely be sharing your videos to my classmates. I really appreciate your reply! Thanks and praying for your success!

Thank you, great tips
Is this method, once you finish the last iteration, it remains forever, or is it only between remembering for a specific period between iterations?
Sorry, I'm not sure I understand the question? Could you clarify for me? :)

Why do you need to memorise anything, the exams are open book
Not at all unis and not for all exams - I only had one open book exam, for example
Read this book - Make it stick
