- Lots of dying. He is a super boss of which there are only two in the game so far, the other being Estark. While all bosses in the game require 4 party members, these super boss battles require 8 party members. The majority of his attacks can take anyone down in 1 shot.

This game is a fucking dream for me. An MMO Dragon Quest game... I really want this to be my first MMO experience because it seems very simple compared to a game like FF XIV with its 600 different spells on one screen and shit-load of other UI all over it
3 years later... I did get to play and complete the trial version in 2020. Was an absolute blast even with it being in Japanese. The offline game looks great but i still want the original Online game in english... probably won't happen though.

Agreed. They would actually lose more money bringing it here. and with ffxiv being the biggest mmo along with WoW, i don't think X would stand a chance. But I totally would sink my whole life into this game,lol.
If they can carve out a fan base with the Nintendo Switch I think they would profit so here's hoping.
Even though I would like this game to come to the west I can't see it being a profit for them. I've known Dragon Quest for perhaps 3 years at most but I have never really bothered to play a single game in that franchise because of how it looks. I also never took my eyes on it.
However, now with Switch and Dragon Quest XI coming to it I have now for the first time averted my eyes to it and I want it. This is a very good chance for the franchise to grow outside of Japan. Everyone everywhere has their eyes and focus on Switch and everything being released on Switch right now, because of it people are finding out about so many games they never knew existed before.
There are so many games that has been out for years on all other consoles and PC/Steam but sold an average to mediocre copies. Those games were released to Switch and see what happened. They sold insanely well! The games "The Flame in the Hood, Steamworld Dig 2, Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap, Oceanhorn, Forma.8 etc" ALL sold insanely well when they were all released on Switch compared to all the consoles and PC's they were released to years ago.
This is the power of having every eye and focus on Switch. It is a really smart move to move Dragon Quest XI to Switch now while everyone are still looking at Switch and everything it's getting. It is inevitable for the franchise to grow even larger thanks to Switch. The only question will be, how big will the western audience for Dragon Quest grow? I don't expect enough to make Square want to bring Dragon Quest X to the west but I'm hoping for a big growth, more than I expect. I'm very excited to see how much the franchise will grow when XI launches on Switch for us.
One of the biggest injustices of all time that the US never got this game. I’d probably still be playing it to this day.

When are we getting this game, it's been 5 years square.
Probably an offline version sometime in the next 20 years. Developers don't like to spend money on making new games anymore when they can remaster or remake old ones. It all comes down to what makes the most profit.

I wanted to play DQ10, But The Problem Is That The Game Is Only In Japanese! Its Only Avalaible In Japan, Not English Transalated, And Not Avalaible In Other Countries, Hope They Give This Game To Us And Make It English.
