Hi, my family and I stayed at the Premier Inn on the sea front. It was a great hotel and in a prime position and a good base as we also visited the cheddar gorge which is only a short distance away, as well as Clarks village shopping outlet. On the whole we had a great weekend at Weston and would definitely recommend it for a weekend break. Good Luck.

£14 all day parking! At the moment it is kicking off in Seaham because the council introduced a £1.50 per hour charge or £3.00 all day along the seafront car parks! Admittedly it isn't a town the size of WSM but still. I don't know who writes these articles but they seem so very biased to favour certain resorts and knock others. Great video Watto.
Great video. Haven't been to Weston for a long time, but spent many happy times there when the children were growing up in the 1990's. My parents had a static caravan in Warren Farm Caravan Park so Weston was only a 25 minute drive. Since covid, we've not been able to go anywhere, so your video brought back some great memories. We’re from Bristol and always loved a day at Weston, since the pier has changed hands and the arcades are not the same anymore we tend to just drive through and head to Brean and then on to burnham for dinner and cockles from the fresh seafood shop😂

Hi Watto & Kim! The car park prices were rather steep. The sandy beach looked lovely. The Victorian architecture was attractive but some of the buildings looked rather run down and sad. The town didn't have too many closed shops and there seemed to be plenty of people around. Surprised you had to pay for the pier! Not in Norfolk. Overall, the resort looked pretty nice. A very well-researched and narrated video. Great job! 👍😊

That was great mate. Was interesting to see what you’ve said as like you I have no idea what is so bad about Weston. I have been there many many times and I love it. That Tropicana water park I used to go to many years ago. Fabulous place, shame it’s been closed. Also I used to be big into motorcross and I’d travel to Weston with my mates to watch the beach racing and camp in the hills around there. Lots of good memories there 👍
We've been to weston 5 times in the last 3yrs, the last time was in may. We will be there again in September and it's booked again for may nxt year. WE LOVE WESTON SUPER MARE❤
Drove passed it when I was a kid with my parents but we never stopped to see what it was like there. Well the beach and park looked fine to me with friendly squirrels too and I remember you taking your dad there as well. Paying to use the look in my pet hate when we are out and who carries cash about now anyway. One thing that is always the last to go is the amusements, which drive me bonkers but I did like the train and the House of Horrors - it all looks fine to me, cannot see a massive issue at all, cheers Alan
Can’t beat a bit of Weston Alan. Pay loos are just a bloody con and are everywhere. Parking is always a bug bare. But if you search there is usually a spot to be found. Thanks for watching mate. Oo not been here for ages. I think I did a how here but can't remember much about it! Expensive parking!!! Compared to Rhyl it looks lush! Hey on that wheel! The views are amazing. Weston is the Rhyl of the West Country. But tbh we love it. Soo many memories here don’t like seeing it slagged off. I think the wheel had a weight restriction. 🤣. Not had a rusty tug for a while. 🤣🤣. Yeah we are ok been tough not gonna lie but we are in Cornwall now for two weeks just reset reboot before the funeral. Thanks as always guys. Love ya both. 🍻. It looks like a nice seaside town, it has the most important thing and that's a huge sandy beach area (we'll ignore the mud part!) The town centre looks neat and tidy, the gardens are well kept and there's no rubbish lying around. And as you said lots of people wandering around and shopping, all good for a a town centre. Sad that some commentators like to label places negatively, when really they're not that bad and actually quite nice.

Great video Watto, I get so annoyed by all the videos slating Weston. It does have it's rougher areas which could do with some TLC (like all areas) but overall it's a really nice place and definitely currently doesn't deserve the reputation it has (the shopping centre puts the Galleries in Bristol to shame). There's a channel (Weston Super Man) which is promoting all the things Weston has to offer. And it has a bustling events calendar including GLOW (Glowing Lights of Weston), Weston Carnival and more!

Loved this, haven't been to weston in absolute years!! So it was nice to revisit it through your lens. I agree, i've heard about the press and the hate towards the town and it's such a shame. It's not the place that's shitty, it's normally the people that are that ruin it! Otherwise, like you showed in your video it looks lovely, lots to do and enjoy, food places, a nice beach and the town centre is busy, with people going about their day and spending money!! Which is great to see. Overall it's a nice seaside town that is worth a trip too with some fish and chips and maybe an ice cream that could get nicked at any point by those bloody gulls! Thanks Alessa. We agree. Weston is as popular as it has ever been. I’m not really a fan of the misery angle. Prefer to showcase rather than slag these places off in search of views. Well keep doing what we do. 👍🏻🚶🏻♂️🚶♀️
As someone who's lived in Weston for the last 20 years it's certainly not a terrible place to live. I can think of many other places that are by far so much worse. There has been a decline over the years which isn't necessarily down to the town itself, but more so a reflection of the overall decline of the UK as a whole. Covid had a pretty significant impact on a lot of businesses that ended up closing. Not so much on the seafront or high street. But there are a lot of empty shops in the surrounding areas.

I have wonderful memories of Weston Super Mare. The time I visited I feed the Seagulls this you do not do. I also did a 5 years Bath Spa University art course in Weston University where I got a BA in the arts. It is a wonder Weston does not have a blue plaque for The Beatles who stayed in Weston Super For A Week when they played in Weston for a week back in the 60ies

Hi guys neither of us have been to wsm since we were kids. The beech looked lovely Dave said he knew it as weston super mud but I had never heard of it before. We liked the paddling pool/ boating pool wonder if it was a paddling pool back in the day. We see quite a few pop up shops they are such a good idea. The town looked pretty good especially liked the Italian garden area. The pier seems popular and quite lively. Well, I have no ide who exactly made that statement " Weston-Super-mare is the worst seaside resort." Nor what is that person's expectation. Especially, through the Pandemic, many small business suffered and find a way to survive. The old time charm may have evolved into modernized surrounded by mural, shops restaurants, and arcade(?) Nice to see so may visitors though. haha yes I learned about the range of low and high tides is large. hahah. Well done, Watto and Kim. Enjoy learning comparison, between past and present.

Expensive to park What a fabulous beach, Boo would love a run on there. So would have to visit between September and May when dogs are allowed. Or go to the other side which allows dogs. Love squirrels. I love the new intro into your videos these days. I know what you mean about avoiding parking fees Paul. Thing is, was happening here too- now the council has extended the paid parking area into the neighbourhood. Residents need to apply for a permit. One car per family. Don't let the Greens find out there are still Donkey rides. You know the horses have to be removed off Merry-go-rounds don't you? Here there was a furore: People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals said: according to PETA Netherlands that the animals are used as "a means of transportation or entertainment" and that's BAD for the animals 😱😱😱😱😱😱! World gone mad. I love the piers in the UK. Lots of buzzing happening- people everywhere. There is so much generalisation going on Paul. I agree, one can find fault anywhere is one looks deep enough. That looked like a nice sandy beach. lot of the videos from beaches in UK have rocky beaches. That is something we are not use too, having to pay to go wee. This is something very uncommon in the USA.

At Bridlington you DONT have to PAY for Toilets . All other seaside places you do. I think it’s disgusting having to pay. We spend plenty on day trips & week holidays. Thanks for your video 👍🏻☀️😎
Parking there is just like downtown Halifax...you have to empty your wallet just to lay down the car. Always great to have a nice sandy beach to stroll along. I'd say it was a marvelous area...get that parking ($) taken care of and those empty store fronts would be full once again as more and more people would be about! Sometimes I wonder where some negativity on some areas even gets its start.

Lived here for 12 years. The sea front is not too bad but go a mile inland and you wouldnt want to wander the streets after sunset. Its fine for a day visit but most of the place is undesirable to put it politely.

Nice place to visit but not a good place to live, just outside of the tourist areas the roads have to many pot holes Brighton road is terrible more pot holes than road surface the buses shake the victorian buildings and the road needs a 20 mph speed limit, the air quality can be really poor because of wood burning stoves in the old buildings during the colder months, it can be so bad you can't open any windows at night. But other than these problems you sometimes got to pay to park in your own street if you can even find anywhere to park in the first place that's no true for all of weston yet but it's getting pretty bad.
Nice film 🎥 been on the open top bus 🚌 many times over the last few years. It’s a shame it’s got a bit run down 🫣I go there 3-4 times a year BUT I STAY IN CLEVEDON ITS NICER 🥰

Drove passed it when I was a kid with my parents but we never stopped to see what it was like there. Well the beach and park looked fine to me with friendly squirrels too and I remember you taking your dad there as well. Paying to use the look in my pet hate when we are out and who carries cash about now anyway. One thing that is always the last to go is the amusements, which drive me bonkers but I did like the train and the House of Horrors - it all looks fine to me, cannot see a massive issue at all, cheers Alan

Weston is the Rhyl of the West Country. But tbh we love it. Soo many memories here don’t like seeing it slagged off.

It looks like a nice seaside town, it has the most important thing and that's a huge sandy beach area (we'll ignore the mud part!) The town centre looks neat and tidy, the gardens are well kept and there's no rubbish lying around. And as you said lots of people wandering around and shopping, all good for a a town centre. Sad that some commentators like to label places negatively, when really they're not that bad and actually quite nice.

Very true. A short stay or a visit as you say. But certainly doesn't deserve the bad press it gets.
Great video Watto, I get so annoyed by all the videos slating Weston. It does have it's rougher areas which could do with some TLC (like all areas) but overall it's a really nice place and definitely currently doesn't deserve the reputation it has (the shopping centre puts the Galleries in Bristol to shame). There's a channel (Weston Super Man) which is promoting all the things Weston has to offer.
And it has a bustling events calendar including GLOW (Glowing Lights of Weston), Weston Carnival and more!

Loved this, haven't been to weston in absolute years!! So it was nice to revisit it through your lens. I agree, i've heard about the press and the hate towards the town and it's such a shame. It's not the place that's shitty, it's normally the people that are that ruin it! Otherwise, like you showed in your video it looks lovely, lots to do and enjoy, food places, a nice beach and the town centre is busy, with people going about their day and spending money!! Which is great to see. Overall it's a nice seaside town that is worth a trip too with some fish and chips and maybe an ice cream that could get nicked at any point by those bloody gulls! As someone who's lived in Weston for the last 20 years it's certainly not a terrible place to live. I can think of many other places that are by far so much worse. There has been a decline over the years which isn't necessarily down to the town itself, but more so a reflection of the overall decline of the UK as a whole. Covid had a pretty significant impact on a lot of businesses that ended up closing. Not so much on the seafront or high street. But there are a lot of empty shops in the surrounding areas.

I have wonderful memories of Weston Super Mare. The time I visited I feed the Seagulls this you do not do. I also did a 5 years Bath Spa University art course in Weston University where I got a BA in the arts. It is a wonder Weston does not have a blue plaque for The Beatles who stayed in Weston Super For A Week when they played in Weston for a week back in the 60ies

Hi guys neither of us have been to wsm since we were kids. The beech looked lovely Dave said he knew it as weston super mud but I had never heard of it before. We liked the paddling pool/ boating pool wonder if it was a paddling pool back in the day. We see quite a few pop up shops they are such a good idea. The town looked pretty good especially liked the Italian garden area. The pier seems popular and quite lively. A big 👍 from us, if we find ourselves in the area we would definitely consider visiting would take your tip on the parking 😆. Hope you have a great weekend Best wishes Dave and Dawn ❤️

Hmmm..I read description before started to watch the film. Well, I have no ide who exactly made that statement " Weston-Super-mare is the worst seaside resort." Nor what is that person's expectation. Especially, through the Pandemic, many small business suffered and find a way to survive.
The old time charm may have evolved into modernized surrounded by mural, shops restaurants, and arcade(?) Nice to see so may visitors though.

Thing is, was happening here too- now the council has extended the paid parking area into the neighbourhood. Residents need to apply for a permit. One car per family. Don't let the Greens find out there are still Donkey rides. You know the horses have to be removed off Merry-go-rounds don't you? Here there was a furore: People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals said: according to PETA Netherlands that the animals are used as "a means of transportation or entertainment" and that's BAD for the animals 😱😱😱😱😱😱! World gone mad. I love the piers in the UK. Lots of buzzing happening- people everywhere. There is so much generalisation going on Paul. I agree, one can find fault anywhere is one looks deep enough. That looked like a nice sandy beach. lot of the videos from beaches in UK have rocky beaches. That is something we are not use too, having to pay to go wee. This is something very uncommon in the USA.
It is a lovely beach tbh until you get to the mud 🤣. U fortunately pay toilets are everywhere here. It is a fact of life I’m afraid. Stealthy tax.

Dogs are allowed at bottom end of beach all year,, plus can walk all the way to uphill 2 dog friendly pubs food etc,, wonderful 😊

At Bridlington you DONT have to PAY for Toilets . All other seaside places you do. I think it’s disgusting having to pay. We spend plenty on day trips & week holidays. Thanks for your video 👍🏻☀️😎

Parking there is just like downtown Halifax...you have to empty your wallet just to lay down the car. Always great to have a nice sandy beach to stroll along. I'd say it was a marvelous area...get that parking ($) taken care of and those empty store fronts would be full once again as more and more people would be about! Sometimes I wonder where some negativity on some areas even gets its start.

Lived here for 12 years. The sea front is not too bad but go a mile inland and you wouldnt want to wander the streets after sunset. Its fine for a day visit but most of the place is undesirable to put it politely.

Nice place to visit but not a good place to live, just outside of the tourist areas the roads have to many pot holes Brighton road is terrible more pot holes than road surface the buses shake the victorian buildings and the road needs a 20 mph speed limit, the air quality can be really poor because of wood burning stoves in the old buildings during the colder months, it can be so bad you can't open any windows at night. But other than these problems you sometimes got to pay to park in your own street if you can even find anywhere to park in the first place that's no true for all of weston yet but it's getting pretty bad.
