It was after your alexandrite lesson. I believe he may have been searching for the "Zandrite" term. It is a stone formulated by and for JTV and it gives off a slight color shift from lilac to a light blue.

There is a short list of stones that qualify, and while they don’t ‘guarantee” they will be able to determine country of origin for opal, they may be able to help - you can find out more here: www.gia.edu/gia-faq-analysis-grading-gemstone-country-of-origin-report
