Well it could be that......or the glaringly obvious fact that this is an AWD car in a race with RWD cars. Probably a much different result if this was a GT-ST lol
@@LOVE-VIBES-X-PROJECT-CARS AWD doesn’t always mean an advantage on tarmac with RWD, theoretically when the power is being pushed to the rear wheels they can come into corners faster than an AWD on tarmac, depending on the chsssis, weight, etc. Take into account the under steer on AWD (that HICAS tried to prevent however). The problem is controlling wheel spin with rear drive power but on softer tires you can get exceptional handling.
Brilliant drive by the GTR. Super skills even when the 4x4 driveline of the GTR helps in the damp conditions. Corner exit at 2:00 were like a wet dream for all racers!🏆
Using that AWD to his advantage and being able to just punch it out of the corner to put the power down and overtake into the straight was so good to watch
My opinion is this. If you are ignorant to the fact that you're a one brand person then you're not seeing the bigger picture. I was the same until I got a ride in baby Godzilla and then I actually got to drive it, it completely changed my perspective of Japanese cars. Then I drove a white r32 and it shocked me as to how fast and balanced it was just in stock trim. The more I delved into the Japanese cars the I appreciated all cars. Some better than others but you get what I'm saying. I mean I wouldn't rate a Holden camira. Probably the worst car I ever worked on but someone out there loves them. What I'm getting at is that that one drive in gtir baby Godzilla got me hooked. So much so I bought one few months later and had the umbrella option in the driver's side quarter panel. I loved it and I sold to someone in WA and to this day I regret it. I still drive my valiant daily. 440 727 8 3/4 rear.
The way that GTR grips and the speed it carries at exits is insane...! Not to mention how agile it is! Truly some splendid suspension and diff work has been done on it and kudos to the driver who is sending it on the track!
Watched an R35 GTR do the same thing to some Porsche GT3 Cup cars at Mallala. To watch a street driven GTR easily outbrake and then easily pull away out of corners, faster than the gt3 race prep'd cars was a sight to behold. Will never forget it.
@@kkellerk23 Truth is a stock R35 GTR embarrased a field of gt3's. It gained a position coming into every braking zone and most impressively, gained positions pulling out of every corner. It simply out-accelerated and overtook as it came out of corners. It made the porsches look slow. At the end of the day, the GTR was driven back to Adelaide while the porsches were loaded back into their trucks. Sorry you lack the intelligence to understand why an amazingly engineered Japanese automotive marvel, which has more power, weighs less and uses the most advanced awd system ever can make an over-priced, pretentious vw beetle disappear in it's rearview mirrors but it is simple physics. Cry all you want, but you won't beat a gtr's lap time in a gt3.
@@brutechurchill A stock r35 weighs more than 3500 pounds. A stock gt3 weighs less than 3200 pounds. A stock r35's 60-0 is 30m, while a stock gt3's 60-0 is 29m. The only thing that the r35 has on the gt3 is 0-60 time which the r35 has a 2.9 i believe while the gt3 has 3.0. I do believe your story, just think it was a case of a better driver in an r35 beating less skilled drivers in their porsches.

Whilst the video did exactly what it said on the tin, it looks like that car had a substantial power advantage. I take nothing away from the driver. He/she had a great set up and took full advantage at every opportunity.

Homeboy is like an LMP1 driver. Play with your foe's nerves until you get to an acceleration zone, then that AWD kick just sends you flying towards the horizon.
Looks kinda understeery into some of the corners. Could just be me misreading the wheel angles. But still, who cares?! When it hits boost it hauls and sounds awesome. Loved the r32 GTR since I was a kid. 😍
Fred Gibson said years ago that the GTR suffered from under steer due to it being a straight six. Had it been a V6 it would have eliminated that issue. Sometimes it took a driver with some courage to drive them. They were not that easy to drive. Jim Richards and Mark Skaiffe always had there hands full.

It's a very cool car that's been run by the driver for a good few years and now after some more development (as is always the way in Sports Sedans) is seeing well deserved race results.
Question. Of the R32/R33/R34, how much of a difference is there? I've never ridden in a R34, but I've been in a R32/33 before, and all I've heard is that the electronics systems were updated throughout the models. I've also heard more traction control of the newer the iteration. The price difference to import is also massive for say the R32 vs the R34 to the US, so is it a much bigger upgrade? The body style of the R34 is my favorite car of ALL time, but is it really that much better than previous versions?
Pretty sure the traction control in R32 is hydraulic, and R33/34 it's electronic. Main difference I think. Of course incremental power and tuning differences.
Just going to throw this out there that the R32 and R34 are similar when tuned for racing, there's next to no difference between the two in terms of performance. That's why you see more 32s racing because it's just flat out cheaper to buy and tune them and the price of the R34 in the US IS NOT WORTH IT. It's just a collectors car, not worth the price tag for what you are getting. The R33 was a shit show. You only get the R33 if you want the style, in terms of performance it's worse than the R32 and the R34.

They were constantly revised and refined as time went on, I've been by others with a lot of experience with GTR's that the R33 rode and drove the best out of all the GTR's. But i'd say that comes down to personal taste. The R34 had the most advanced AWD system of the 3.

Yes, this series is Sports Sedans. I believe the driver you are talking about is Jordan Cox with his Civic? He races in IPRA (Improved Production) Also on this channel. Sports Sedans is probably best described as the next set of rule evolution where there are more freedoms on bodywork/driveline and engine than what is seen in IPRA. BOTH are great categories that produce awesome racing. The difference between GT-R’s and other car’s folks is corner exit, it’s not necessarily making more power but it’s able to put it down earlier.
They are still absolutely making more power. It's what they do.

It's called traction and it counts bloody heaps. AWD vs 2WD is always a bit lopsided.
Nissan's technology in the gtr was so ahead of its time and here is the perfect example of it. Absolute weapon.

That R35 was not stock, and the Porsche will destroy any GTR put up against stock for stock. You can make a toaster corner with enough money.

I think that you are tricked, the car is most likely utilizing hicas and these cars where banned for a reason back in the days
I mean its AWD ofc its gonna have some understeer although very little in this case because of hicas and the awd system being VERY rwd heavy.
It’s awd compared to a lot of rwd cars. It will be understeery on entry and very fast on corner exit
