To be fair, the Clone Wars were actually really cool. It was genuinely fun and interesting to sometimes see what Clone Troopers were like as people, like in the Clone Wars TV show. That show was awesome. I miss it.
Do you think I should watch it ya'all? I'm an adult and I originally got a vibe it was a kids' show. I'm willing to overlook that if it holds weight, though.
Kig V2 after season 2 it gets pretty dark with genocide, beheadings, real emotions but I would recommend starting with the film and then season 1. Rebels is little better tho
Clone wars showed us what life of Anaking, Obi wan, Ashoka and all the other jedi and clone troopers was like. I really liked it because of relations beetwen all these characters as friends, family, collegues and Such. Man I miss the show.
The reason people thought rogue 1 was the best of the recent Star Wars movies is because it at least ties into the original 3 movies nicely. And who can't forget that epic ending with Darth Vader?
I think TLJ is far better. But I would agree R1 is less bad than the others even OT and prequels. It tells its story and gets to its point. I actually like the stormtroopers more than Vader. We never get scenes of how they actually fight from the ground level. R1 did that and that was good.
I forgot it... I saw the movie in the cinema back in 2016. Recently a friend of mine shared with me a TH-cam video of that Darth Vader scene, and I didn't remember it. So yeah, I literally forgot it. Totally forgettable movie.
I enjoyed Rogue One, but yeah, that last scene with Vader was the best part of the movie. It's just a shame we only got 2 movies from the sequel trilogy. TLJ was such a turd JJ had to retcon all of Ruin Johnson's screw ups. Rise of Skywalker could have been so much better if there was a 2nd part to the non-trilogy.
poor emilia clark, shes always at the wrong place at the wrong time, season 8 game of thrones, solo star wars, terminator, shes been apart of some sinking ships but hopefully it's just a phase
I know what you mean. McGregor is a damn good actor, he just got thrown into some shitty Lucas scripts, which now seem pretty decent compared to the Last Jedi. Disney would crap all over a Kenobi movie.
Really didn’t like last Jedi, and I really liked Solo oddly enough. Didn’t like the robot obviously, but I really liked seeing the criminal underworld and the dirty work of the star wars universe again
Star Wars was always a agritty universe. The movies told is there is something, but never went into detal. But it was clear, there was corruption, smuggling, etc. It was always obvious there is more than just Empire vs Rebels, a civil war that ends in epic battles. There was always the question of how the small man comes by in this dark universe. And no, I don't want to by death sticks.
The Clone Wars was awesome. It’s really cool to see the Light side and the Dark side fighting on equal footing, and it goes to show just how powerful the Sith really are.
Solo is actually still beyond better than all three sequel trilogy combined though..... people just boycott it due to the notorious failure of The Last Jedi
@King Tyrone TFA was in no point original and apart from Rey's introduction (which was good) there was no logic in any of the decisions made by the characters and the tone of the movie was everywhere at once, from a joke to mass murder. TLJ was terrible and TROS had really nowhere to go because of TLJ, that was bad a bit because TFA had no creativity whatsoever! Rogue One was good, but it could have been better if they let the director have his way, since the reshoots kind of dumbed it down. and Solo was just boring.... damn they put "suspenseful" scenes where they bait the potential death of Han or Chewy!!! WE ALL KNOW THEY SURVIVE!!!
I agree the solo movie was actually good I really enjoyed same with the squeals but the squeals where kinda all over and not accurate so that’s why I agree that solo better then all 3 squeals
star wars is not a cinematic universe, it's a finished story about anakin and luke, it was already done, both completed their arcs, there was no more room to keep going without undoing everything. and that's exactly what disney did, with episode 7 they basically undid return of the jedi. and with the last jedi they completly destroyed it.
The stories of the EU with Darth Caedus and shit were pretty interesting, and would have been a good way of continuing the story of the Skywalker bloodline. They could also have done something with the Old Republic era, not necessarily reenacting the stories told in Legends but they had a metric shit ton of material to use as they pleased as that era took place thousands of years before the Clone Wars.
Personally, I think they really, really should have done the Thrawn Trilogy in movie format. The character's ages would have to be changed and whatever, but they do that in Game of Thrones, and I think it could have worked with a Thrawn movie trilogy.
Should have gone with Darth Bane or if they were truly set on the whole Luke Skywalker continuation they should have done the hand of thrawn and then brought in Mara Jade and that nutjob james jones type Master C'Boath guy
Still want to believe the symbol of the rebels comes from Galen Maleks family crest. That there was a new Jedi order lead by Luke. That there was a New Republic. That Darth Bane started the Rule of Two. And that Luke married Mara Jade.
The droid is a perfect example of how devious Disney can be. They crafted it and it’s dialogue JUST right, so that if you’re on the anti feminist side, you can interpret it as satire, but if you are pro feminist, it works as a rallying cry.
Yeah, same. I've actually seen the original Star Wars first, but only after watching AoTC in 2002 (which later became my least favorite of the 6) I got into Star Wars, and watched the other 3 movies (and of course ROTS in 2005). Doubt happened to anyone with the sequels.
I agree I love the prequels. Not because there good movies but because they added mystique and mystery and a whole new era full of questions. It's Ideas excellent top tier, execution: questionable.
Ricardo Garcia Me? What are you talking about? I like Solo alot but even I felt it was completely unnecessary or should’ve been a different/new character
@@elephantpowerproductions hey sorry, I was referring to the main video and not to your post. I have no issues here so I will delete what I wrote! A case of small screen and a tired mind!
@@elephantpowerproductions I was not going to see Solo as I felt that after The trashed Jedi there was not much good that could come out from the currant Lucasfilm story group. I felt that Solo was doomed from the start as the cast and main lead did not have the same charisma Harrison Ford brought to the character. However I did see it so I could comment about it... Plus I was given a free movie ticket as a birthday present ... So what did I get from it? To be honest, not much! Except for a small sence of joy when L337 got blown to bits... Worse Star Wars droid ever!
Absolutely. And I wouldn't miss it even if that other much wanted actor, Anthony Ingruber, that actually looks and sounds like Harrison Ford, had played SOLO. Still would have been shit... just shit .
Mhm i found rouge one pointless. I didnt give a fuck how the rebels got the plans or who made it. I just said to myself eh palpatine built it whatever. And i knew the characters are all gonna die so...
Games Suck I think I agree. It was just another excuse for some more new vehicles and more pointless Stormtroopers to make more toys out of. Shore trooper? Can't Stormtroopers be on a shore? Death Troopers? Elite Stormtroopers, possibly zombies? Never seen again in the OT. Bigger AT-AT? A very un-necessary film but at least it looked like a Star Wars film.
@@JonathanRodriguez-nz9nw The EU was no longer relevant by the time Disney acquired Star Wars. Rogue was indeed unnecessary (not as much as Solo) but it does gives a nice little addition to the Original Trilogy story.
I don't care what people say.. I still love the prequels. EDIT (29.12.2020): I forgot I even made this fucking comment.. well.. I still love the prequels. Also, thanks for the likes.
Let me guess, you were born in the 90's? No offense, but it's like the difference between Fallout 1 & 2 fans and fans who's first Fallout game was Fallout 3. Completely different generation of fans with completely different expectations and experiences.
I honestly don't care to obsess over plot in film and instead just appreciate good characters that one empathises with. The Force Awakens gave you solid people and Rogue One fell embarrassingly short.
@@ariochiv It would have had TLJ been good. Everything hinged on that movie's success. I gave TFA a pass because of all the intrigue. There were so many scenes that made you guess what everything meant. I wanted to see Snoke train Ren. That would have been amazing to watch because we have never seen a Sith get trained to be a Sith. What philosophy was going to be said. Plus you have Rey with Luke to mirror both the trainings. The First Order could have been licking their wounds from losing Star Killer Base. There could have been a race to recruit allies for both sides. You have skirmishes from point to point in the film. It would have set up Episode IX beautifully. You leave the last major battle for the last film. You do not utterly destroy the Resistance. Now I am asking the question who is fighting? What are the factions? It's the First Order vs. ummm who exactly? Don't tell me that it's just Rey and a couple of her buddies.
True but I think most would agree that it's done the best to capture the look & feel of the Original Trilogy & it was definitely the best Star Wars film since Revenge of the Sith imo@@ariochiv
Vanillogical Yeah make a coward of the 2nd main character, then kill him, contradict the previous movies plot, and have terrible characters worst than jar jar. So good
I used to consider Return of the Jedi a weak film. It's a damn masterpiece after 3 shitty prequels, 3 Disney failures, and 1 Han Solo origin film that I thought was passable, but unnecessary.
@quick scope Solo is nowhere near the best Star Wars movie. A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return Of The Jedi, Rogue One, and Revenge Of The Sith are all better than Solo.
“The original trilogy is good bc it’s about a boy who is trying to save his father” but I guess the prequels story about a boy who is afraid of losing what he loves and is willing to do anything to not let it happen again is not cool.
It was a good concept. The story needed some serious doctoring though. Not to mention casting Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader was... a pretty bad idea.
a Kenobi movie would be the timeline of him watching over Luke and having his final battle with Darth Maul who survived their last encounter (Star Wars Rebels idea). I would love to see this if its written and done right
Then again, any idea written and done right would be awesome.. but it seems like originality and proper execution is really hard to pull off when it comes to SW movies...
Not really, there's no point. "Oh my god will Kenobi survive the rematch with Maul?" said no one, because we already know he does. It's like having spoilers baked into the movie.
@@aluisious Also, in Rebels, Maul didn't know where Obi Wan was before their final duel, so we know they never fought after the clone wars until Maul's death (which would be anti climactic for a movie goer since Obi Wan wrecked him immediately)
@@ivancerecer5758 I would personally love a film about obi wan dealing with his self imposed isolation while battling his demons of watching over his former 'brothers' son from a far. While simultaneously trying to maintain strict adherence to an order that no longer exists. Seriously there is a GOOD movie in that.
Well, I mean if they had never explained what the Clone Wars was, then would, have never gotten that TV show. Which is arguably one of, if not the best piece of Star Wars media there is.
The Great Library of Alexandria did have a Fire that destroyed a great many historical texts. What many people Don't know is that it actually did house the Sacred Jedi Texts as well (and they did contain passages about Midichlorians).
I actually loved Solo, and even I agree it should have been cancelled. It just wasn't a smart financial decision to have a movie like that right after the absolute shitshow that was TLJ
I really enjoyed it. Didnt think too much that this was the same han solo from the original trilogy. I think it stands on its own if you watch it as the story of one dude in that universe.
Datch - AMV's & Tributes And the first sign that Star Wars is dying is when the Mouse scratched off every Expanded Universe novel, comic book and game like Knights Of The Old Republic from the Star Wars lore's canon.
George screwed up the prequels long before he sold Star Wars to Disney. That's why he sold it! He couldn't take another round of backlash, and he couldn't bring himself to finish the story.
You can't complain about Disney buying Star Wars when the nerds were screaming for George's head when he made the prequels. The reality that fanboys need to realize is that Star Wars is too lucrative to not keep making movies. So that means that, like Star Trek, Batman, and Bond movies, some will be better than others. But in no way is it dead.
6:53 In fact... I'm ok with midi-chlorians... you can just see it as a concept made up by the jedi at the top of their power. Something like the meteorology or whatever. They kinda are a religious bunch of people and they created their own way to measure the force, cause it's an established fact that the mastery of the force isn't the same for everyone. And when the jedi order finally disappears, the concept of midi-chlorians get lost with them and that's why you don't hear about that on the original trilogy. I don't find that stupid at all...
Also Midichlorians are NOT the force. I dont understand why People get so fed up by them. Its just as you say. They might not be the best storydevice to measure some characters Potential to use the force, sure, but its still a mystery what it actually is...
A Star Wars cinematic universe with the Expanded Universe characters would have worked. These characters and stories already exist, the fans already love them, just adapt them to the silver screen or to TV shows and cartoons. Instant money. Or, set a new SW universe hundreds of years, perhaps even thousands of years, into the future or past and explore some previously unknown eras like the founding of the Republic or the fall of the Rakatan Empire. That way, you can make new characters and backstories to explain these things. Instead, they tried to whore out the OT era, which was already old hat by the time of the Prequels. It was a story that had a beginning, middle, and end, and for many fans, it already ended, especially since in the expanded lore, the Galactic Civil War itself was over and the Empire flatlined and surrendered. But Disney couldn't leave well enough alone, could they? They erased the beloved old lore, and replaced it with a new one that is quickly becoming the bane of the fandom. If they don't right the ship fast, they're fucked, and they'll have to revert back to the old Expanded Universe canon and make remakes of old SW games to save their asses.
Amen. I lost faith in the Disney Star Wars ever since they changed the Canon to the crap we got today..I have spent years reading the EU books, and it was all for nothing. Nothing! The stories make no sense anymore and I have since been alienated by Disney.. Disney ruined Star Wars since day one.
+Thrawn's Legacy Oh, come now. Those Expanded Universe stories still stay within our minds and hearts. They're still worth something to the right person. And who knows? Perhaps someone new can come over and change Star Wars canon back to its rightful setting.
its in perception. we know how the story goes. theyve told some bs for bucks.... the story is the story and they cant change it. at least not to me.@@grandadmiralthrawn2023
6:53 well the thing is that he didn’t say that Midi-chlorians were the force itself, rather they were what allowed Jedi and other force sensitives to communicate with it
@@shawnkivlin3238 Great explanation of how it's not much better. Unless you don't care about world building in literature. It's just a way for the lore to explain how some people are force sensitive, and how some are not...
People take the midiclorians hate too far. It’s just a throw away line to tell the audience that Anakin is very force sensitive. Yes it’s campy and over explained but it’s really not that big of a deal and it doesn’t impact the story as a whole. Looking back Qui-Gon should have just said ‘the force is very strong with him’ or something generic. Still I feel that scene gets way too much heat from fans.
I wonder how Abrams would fix the fecking mess and nonsense that was ep 8. I never felt so compeled to avoid a film in my life. And I was fan of Star Wars. :/
This movie had potential... and some parts were not bad! I was really worried about this movie, and I finally watched it almost a year later, its was ok... Better than TLJ, YES. But it was still...just ok
I watched it today and I have to say it was cool. When I watched the last jedi my innards were on the computer screen. Some things were awful, but the storyline actually had logic in it.
You’re partially wrong. THE LAST JEDI IS WHAT KILLED STAR WARS. Still, it will endure. Rian Johnson gets all the credit for the failure. Blu-ray sales drop off from TFA to TLJ by 56%... that lines up almost exactly with the rotten tomatoes audience score. I will be proven right again by episode 9 lower numbers bc of boycott.
I won't be boycotting Ep IX - that would be just silly. Truth is, I have nothing to expect from IX and the trilogy in general, as every tension is resolved by VIII and the remaining characters are very dull and one-dimensional. The only question I have about IX is how they handle Leia. And I wouldn't spend 2 hours of my life to answer that question.
@@grproteus agreed all I want to know is how they are going to handle Leia after the passing of Carrie Fisher.. strange how they planned on killing off all OT male characters & leaving the only OT female character alive then she dies in real life.

While I find 90% of your video hilarious--I LOVE the exposition-heavy prequels. They were exercises in world-building to me, even if they didn't end up as enjoyable and brisk as the Original Trilogy.
Funny because the prequels are the exact opposite of good worldbuilding. You don't need to explain things that add nothing to the themes in your story, that's why the original trilogy works. Don't fall into the idea that explaining every meaningless detail about your world constitutes worldbuilding. Good worldbuilding is about being precise, not trying to bring realism into your story.
Actually, Solo was a kinda nice movie, I enjoyed it much more than the other new cinematic horrors we had. The characters were interesting and I think they still managed to catch Han's personality. Not like the other SW new movies ;-;
Gavin Felan ye but Gavin, did it make Star Wars any better? The thing is, Star Wars should've ended after the Original Trilogy. But George Lucas wanted more money so there's that
@@xdanman1175 It was hardly out of place and complimented the aesthetics of the prequels which was the most recent Star Wars thing at the time. Slaterous There's plenty of things in entertainment that don't necessarily improve something, but they still add to it and enrich the lore nonetheless. And regardless, people were still interested in SW either way. Supply and demand.
I really don’t think George Lucas gave a fuck as long as he got that 4 billion from Disney he seemed happy referring to it as his retirement package I honestly think he sits back laughing at everyone going I made a space story up in my head and made billions and got whatever I wanted over the last 50 years because of my popularity I think it’s hilarious how much people thrust there lives into Star Wars
Arguably, Star Wars is just as good as any setting to make a cinematic universe. You can write literally any story you want when there's an actually fucking galaxy worth of things you can do in Star Wars. It's just how you write it, and why you write it. You know, instead of writing pandering fan service non-sense, write something new, in a literal galaxy worth of things to do.
EZXSniperZzz OR I know, I got a great idea, How bout I ignore established canon, destroy old characters and literally do exactly the opposite of what people expect, just because, regardless of the fact the writing is terrible. -RJ
The problem is some suit somewhere at Disney has a focus group result that says "Well, where's the light sabers? You gotta have light sabers or it's not a Star Wars movie, my focus group says so. Where's the Empire? If there's no stormtroopers it's not a Star Wars movie, that's what people want to see out of a Star Wars movie." This type of logic has clearly crippled any creative freedom they should have.
@@vito Forcing away established characters to force new ones was about as stupid as a making a Superman movie and killing superman to...move the story forward. Why is James Bond still alive. This thought process of out with the old, in with the new is what killed the franchise. Solo failed because Han Solo wasn't in the movie and they were never going to make a strong solo male lead, as Solo should have been. It was an ensemble cast focused, again, on characters we couldn't care less about while ruining the ones we do. Kill of Han unceremoniously and then give him a Solo movie, where his testosterone is gutted and his direction is determined by love-sickness? Hiring AE guaranteed the flick to fail. Had they hired Anthony Ingruber, like FANS WANTED, it would have succeeded just like The Last Jedi would have succeeded had Johnson listened to Hamill's sage advice and LISTENED TO THE FANS. For decades ppl made up plenty of "new shit" in the parameters of the story. The funniest notion ever to come out of Lucasfilm was that we should be excited for Rian Johnson's trilogy in "unexplored regions of the galaxy." That was a nice way to fool stupid ppl. It's really saying, they are going to keep letting him f*ck up and TLJ was too constraining so, his trilogy will take place where he can just do whatever the f*ck he wants like he did with TLJ. Sorry but, Star Wars used to be about quality. There's no quality from Lucasfilm. Look at their recent animation. It gets destroyed by not one, but TWO fan-made cartoons where the single creator understands Star Wars more than Lucasfilm does, currently. The real problem was taking an already popular IP and using it to make unpopular politics popular. Instead of making the politics popular by wrapping them in SW, it was so heavy-handed and obvious(some call out blatant misandry) that audiences understood what they were seeing. The old bait and switch. They sell you a star wars movie to get you to bring your kids to get indoctrinated by the new lessons that undermine the OT, which was the purpose. This is why all of the OT characters lives end up in ruin. It was done to show that the morals and values they lived on in the OT really led to ruin instead of saving the galaxy. So, old morality erased...time to program the new generation with stupidity, instead(a child allowed himself to be beaten and put into the hospital because Johnson confused him into thinking that true heroes don't fight back...despite being called Jedi "warriors." Disgusting.). Sorry but, every fan-theory was better than anything Johnson came up with so to say that fans should be ignored is ludicrous when that's exactly how we got TLJ, which is the poison that sucked the fun and life out of the IP for the majority. What a moronic call in light of reality as it has played out. If anything, seeing reality played out as it has, the clear solution is to do the opposite now, and listen to fans. But they don't care about money. They have all of it. This is all about social engineering but, it won't work when it's so obvious and fandom decides to educate the unaware fans. heh Star Wars under KK is just bad. She's intimidated by strong men so, no strong men can work on SW. Look at RJ and JJ. Femboys, both of them. No one with testosterone seems to be allowed to work for Lucasfilm anymore. It's been fun watching the predictable failures when, all they have to do is listen to the core-fandom and ignore the entire storygroup, pablo hidalgo and KK. Do that, and you're on your way to making a great SW film. It won't happen with KK, there. They still can't admit failure so they are trying to control perception, instead. It's hilarious looking at the SW:Resistance Rotten Tomatoes reviews. It's clear the russian bot-spin didn't fool anyone so they are flooding fake reviews, showing Lucasfilm guilty of manipulating scores while they complained that TLJ scores were manipulated and fake. Imagine that. They call honest scores fake and try to corrupt honest scores. lol They don't care. They are pushing an agenda and ignoring fans. It's over aside from laughing at their direction completely failing them. It is pretty awesome watching the consistent slide since TLJ. XD ...and they still can't admit the poison that killed the golden goose. smh I guess when a woman is in charge, SW acts like an overgrown child who can't adapt to the reality around her.
@@OGSF_Apoc "a child allowed himself to be beaten and put into the hospital because Johnson confused him into thinking that true heroes don't fight back" I'm sorry, who? What? When?
It's extremally funny to watch those commentaries about potential Kenobi spinoff, while one is happening right now. And it's happening exactly as you predicted :D
Disney should have started telling stories from other time periods or regions in the Star Wars Universe. They could have taken the best stories from the Expanded Universe to do so, or just riff on the ideas. Expanding on the same characters was a mistake.
I really wish they would just make a new trilogy set like 100 years in the future with new characters. That would be a lot harder to screw up, still possible but much harder. Like if the old wise character does not give a damn then that's the character instead of it being Luke and your not like this isnt Luke. This is just my opinion though.
5:14 to 7:09 is what made me subscribe. Seeing someone like you appreciating mystery and not having EVERYTHING told/shown to you for the sake of creating more story is refreshing. I see so many people wanting more of something and celebrating sequels and prequels of whatever it is they love and not realising that some of the best of the best stuff out there actually dont tell you everything. They only tell you what you need to know and have a bit of extra to create depth. The rest can be left for fans to discuss and pondet on. 9/10 that thing or characters backstory is best when on necessary information is told to you but left vague enough for your imagination to take over. Because once you show us in detail. The magic is gone and the reality just doesn't live up. Tl;dr I agree with what you said and I think any story should do the same thing and not forcefully explore every nook and cranny just for thebsake of it.
The prequels weren't terrible, they were okay, and had their weak moments (many) and their strong points (few, but still). And, the prequels helped develop other media that did add to the universe.
Star Wars is dead, killed by the greed of the Disney Empire. Both stand alone movies I liked. Rouge One was better than Solo, however Solo ain’t bad, but agree didn’t need a movie filling in back story. Best parts were new characters and story arc. The new trilogy blows dog,. After the poop fest called The Last Jedi was dumped on us, it was inevitable that people would flush Solo too, as it came out less than a year later. Can’t wait till the Ryan Johnson ends this sad little space story. Maybe Disney explores characters from Star Wars rebels and other stuff. Maybe go back to the Old Republic totally new material.
And directed by Jar Jar Abrams, who also messed up Star Trek. Rogue one was ok, imo, best one after Return of the Jedi, the rest was just to fill the gaps. Solo tried, but was boring.
Chris The Phoenix it's not an opinion... it actually happened. If i said that i hated TLJ, that would be an opinion. But when you have a GARGANTUAN following of a franchise, and then one movie comes out, and suddenly the majority of the primary fanbase is now boycotting the franchise, and saying "THIS MOVIE KILLED STAR WARS", yeah, it's not just an opinion that one movie did that.
Chris The Phoenix everyone at Disney Star Wars (the actors, directors, and president) have been acting like bullies to their fanbase by calling them man-babies, white supremacists, racists, sexists, bigots, every mean thing you can think of. All it takes to get bullied is simply not liking the movie. You can give a thoughtful response on why you disliked the movie: "Luke was completely out of character with no explanation whatsoever, they built up all this suspense in TFA for Snoke and then kill him off for no reason, Rey is a Mary Sue, Hux is a total bafoon, they tease at a character arc for Kylo but then don't, Leia had a respectable death but then instead she turns into Mary Poppins only to spend the reat of the movie in a coma and now has to die off-screen, we didn't get the green light saber duel we wanted, Luke died for no reason, the entire premise of not telling Poe about the plan was feminist propaganda and made no sense, they kill off Akbar in the background and then give the glorious death to some random feminist bitch." And you will get called a sexist, racist, misogynist pig. By the STAFF. That's not professional at all. Why the fuck are people who intentionally piss off the fans in charge of the franchise? Kathleen is a blatant sexist pig and Rian is a bully. He said himself that he INTENDED to piss off the fanbase. He's a troll. You think the entire fanbase is pissed for no reason? You think it's just a coincidence? And look, even Mark Hamill himself is disgusted by the treatment of Luke. He kept spouting off about how he hated Luke until Disney gave him the talk and he suddenly out of nowhere "changed his mind". And the there was the Rose Tico thing where the actress deleted her account (with no explanation), and the fans were harassed MORE for supposedly bullying her off social media, when there was no evidence of that. Keep in mind, she probably deleted it because the contract prohibited talking about the movie and she just wanted to focus on the film. (Yep, Daisy did exactly that. She said herself she deleted her social media for he contract). Rose actress herself never said why she did it but it was used to induce hate. And an event that happened in history is still not an opinion... How is people in mass boycotting a movie an opinion? It's a thing that happened. I think you're confused about the difference between an opinion and an action. By your standard, it was my opinion that i didn't drive out to watch a movie. No... it's my opinion that i dislike a movie but it's still an action to not go see it...
Chris The Phoenix the movie is bad before getting into the politics of the staff. But that's still a stupid philosophy that you have. You need to have respect for yourself. If the people in charge are harassing you at any business, then just spend your money elsewhere. It's not even a compromise when the product sucks. We vote with our money. This attitude of "just ignore it and go see the movie" is telling them that we support their actions, and that is unacceptable. We cannot tolerate this behavior even a little bit. Give them an inch and they will take a thousand miles (that's how third-wave feminism came to be). For the record, i loved TLJ after the first viewing. I had to sit on it, think about it, listen to reviews, review the canon, review exactly what i did see in TLJ that violated the rules, and i quickly realized how horrible it was. It was a very good-looking film which is why i enjoyed it in the moment. I also wanted a green light saber and i got it!! But i was wrong to be excited because i wasn't even thinking about what was happening. Luke was betraying his own morals (without any explanation). He had the perfect ending to his character arc in Return, and now it was destroyed. He and Han are now just assholes for no reason after a perfect ending in Return. And then, the battle where we SHOULD have gotten a green saber duel, instead, Luke just stands around, whips out a blue saber, does nothing with it, then it turns out he was a projection, and then dies........ WHAT WAS THE POINT OF PROJECTING THEN!!!!! WHY NOT GIVE HIM THE GREEN SABER DUEL WITH KYLO WE ALLLLLLL WANTED??? That's just one example of how i enjoyed the film at first and changed my mind later. Another for the record, i have every reason to oppose the common viewpoint because i'm a total edgelord that likes to go against the grain of society. So there is merit behind me agreeing with most fans on this one. Lots of people hate the prequels but i actually love them. (Love them while recognizing that they are full of garbage). The shittiness came from horrible script, arguably bad acting, and focusing on parts of the story that people didn't want (Anakin as an annoying brat for a whole movie, Obi-Wan sits in a ship for a whole movie, there is never a bond established between Obi-Wan and Anakin, we never see Darth Vader for realsies in the prequels...). But that can be forgiven when the entire trilogy is not built upon feminazi propaganda at its foundation, not even having a story to be told at all (making up each movie along the way is literally what is happening), staff bullying fans... one is forgivable but one is not. And every prequel film had redeeming qualities. The pod race, the war on Geonosis, the opening space battle of Coruscant, the duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan. I honestly can't think of any memorable things from the sequels. The red room was neat until Snoke dies for no reason and until you notice the red guards intentionally dodging the main actors because the main actors are fucking up. Also, Mary Sue Mary Sue Mary Sue. I did like the Yoda scene though.
Chris The Phoenix to add to that, i legitimately don't care what happens in 9. So it's not like i'm sacrificing any part of myself to boycott it. All of our favorite OT characters are dead, most of them killed for no reason or off-screen. The big badass that was set up in TFA died like a bitch. Rey has never been interesting. Kylo was almost interesting and then he wasn't. Honestly, the only way i could see 9 actually being good is if Rey goes dark side. Kylo can stay dark or go light but i think you need Rey to go dark. It would be super ballsy to have the trilogy end with both of them dark and i would respect that. But let's be honest, there's no way. We already know what path they're taking. It's gonna be Return all over again. Maybe Rey has to resist some urges but will ultimately embrace the light and kill Kylo without any effort. I can't see Disney doing anything else.
While watching Evangelion, I remember thinking to myself about 3/4 of the way through, "They better give me a round of applause at the end for slogging my way through this."
I enjoyed the prequel trilogy because it had some epic fights and battle scenes I really appreciated, nothing like seeing dozens of lightsaber wielding jedi fighting hordes of enemies! Also yoda's fight scenes were fun to watch as well!!
Midichlorians are necessary to making Anakin make sense. Without them the Force is magic and sentient with no limits. Midichlorians provide limitations.
I would love to see obi wan blow up the clone facility on kamino after order 66. I realise that this is not what happens but I would like to see it anyway
Swear the entire sequel trilogy is like a week between the first 2 films then a year between the last 2. The whole trilogy was jumping through hyperspace😂😂
The Republic and Dark Times comics from Dark Horse would have been so sick if adapted into movies or series. Especially the issues revolving around Quinlan Vos.
+Albedo or Star Wars KOTOR 1 and 2 I would say even Star Wars Old Republic had better stories and characters than what Disney gave us with the movies Seriously, if HK 47 would appear and kill all the new characters (from MaReySue to Emo Vader and General Ginger) i would not less at all
6:32 "What are the clonewars?" oh, let me tell you about a story, of my padawan, he also thought in the clonewars, but i killed him as i had the high ground
I waited 35 years for a Solo movie. Disney lived up to my expectations, filled it with woke, poor acting, weak script, and just horrific. Not surprised it bombed at all. Failed with me.
I saw the prequels so many times! My niece absolutely loved them She loved Anakin. She really cried when he fell. It came out of left field for her. I wish I had recorded it. I asked her if she wanted to see the new Jumanji or Star Wars when they come out next year. She said Star Wars and then I told her it was the new one with Rey. She made a face and said Jumanji. She's 8 and I just beamed with pride. Even she knows the new trilogy sucks ass. It's no longer for the old fans and the kids don't even like it either. They don't want the toys or shit to do with it.
@@stephenhutchinson3556 Yeah, I donate stuff to the boys and girls club. Kids aren't allowed to dress up in Ameican Schools. We get a lot of clearance Star Wars stuff. Google Star Wars toys not selling. Tons of articles on the toys and merch not selling. Proof is all out there.
Darth Plaguies would’ve been perfect for episode 8-9. He learns how to cheat death thanks to sidious murdering him. He builds the first order and finds Ben solo and turns him to the dark side knowing he’s related to Darth Vader and has potential. He says to Rey and Ren in the throne room in the last Jedi “I’m the sith who’s learned to create life and even cheat death, no thanks to my former apprentice. I created your grandfather using the force. That’s why you will never be as powerful as him. This causes Ren to finally wanna kill Plaguies and continue what the sith always do to each other. Plaguies attacks Rey and finds out to his horror and shock using the force to look into her mind that she’s his former apprentices granddaughter. And his last words are said to Rey before Ren kills him “Impossible, it cant be” and then Kylo Ren kills him and takes control of the first order
To be fair, the Clone Wars were actually really cool. It was genuinely fun and interesting to sometimes see what Clone Troopers were like as people, like in the Clone Wars TV show. That show was awesome. I miss it.
Pssst Clone Wars Season 7 coming soon
#CloneWarsSaved
I like beans. I don't understand why people hate the clone wars. It was amazing!
Vader could've just danced and it would've been kickass
I think TLJ is far better. But I would agree R1 is less bad than the others even OT and prequels. It tells its story and gets to its point. I actually like the stormtroopers more than Vader. We never get scenes of how they actually fight from the ground level. R1 did that and that was good.
I forgot it... I saw the movie in the cinema back in 2016. Recently a friend of mine shared with me a TH-cam video of that Darth Vader scene, and I didn't remember it. So yeah, I literally forgot it. Totally forgettable movie.
Also it showed new things but in a competent way
I enjoyed Rogue One, but yeah, that last scene with Vader was the best part of the movie. It's just a shame we only got 2 movies from the sequel trilogy. TLJ was such a turd JJ had to retcon all of Ruin Johnson's screw ups. Rise of Skywalker could have been so much better if there was a 2nd part to the non-trilogy.
The last jedi caused people to boycott solo
I shudder to think what episode 9 will do to Star Wars.
ShadowedNight I would be shuttering too, if I planned to see it.
But the Adventures of Emo Vader and Mary Sue don’t interest me.
tbh, both suck just as bad. Amiral Genders Studies professor VS SJW droid/pansexual dong lover, pick your flavor of shit !

The fan boycott was only one of many contributing factors to Solo’s failure. It also had a troubled production and poor marketing.

I used to want a Kenobi Movie with Ewan McGregor, but now I'm afraid they'll screw it up...
wait after 2022 after they fire KK. Besides, McGregor can't get too old...
I know what you mean. McGregor is a damn good actor, he just got thrown into some shitty Lucas scripts, which now seem pretty decent compared to the Last Jedi. Disney would crap all over a Kenobi movie.
I recomend to you read comics about the time Obi spend on Tatooine from TROTS to TLH

Really didn’t like last Jedi, and I really liked Solo oddly enough. Didn’t like the robot obviously, but I really liked seeing the criminal underworld and the dirty work of the star wars universe again
Dirty work of Star Wars= Leah at the beginning of episode 6
Seeing the criminal underworld of Star Wars on a big screen after seeing so much of it in Dave Filloni series was amazing.
Brandon Hohn same here
I liked the robot. I liked it more when she died.

The Clone Wars was awesome. It’s really cool to see the Light side and the Dark side fighting on equal footing, and it goes to show just how powerful the Sith really are.
STAR WARS The CLONE WARS is the best
I actually really liked the prequels.
Clone Wars is top tier star wars.
Solo is actually still beyond better than all three sequel trilogy combined though..... people just boycott it due to the notorious failure of The Last Jedi
If I'm honest with myself, a Rogue One was a damn good movie also
@King Tyrone TFA was in no point original and apart from Rey's introduction (which was good) there was no logic in any of the decisions made by the characters and the tone of the movie was everywhere at once, from a joke to mass murder.
Mandolorian is a good show on Disney +
I agree the solo movie was actually good I really enjoyed same with the squeals but the squeals where kinda all over and not accurate so that’s why I agree that solo better then all 3 squeals
Saying the something is better than the sequel trilogy isn’t saying much. Lol. It is like being better than a dog turd.
"You could have another fight between Obi-Wan & Vader, but what would be the point" Oh Vito from 3 years ago, how blissfully ignorant.
star wars is not a cinematic universe, it's a finished story about anakin and luke, it was already done, both completed their arcs, there was no more room to keep going without undoing everything. and that's exactly what disney did, with episode 7 they basically undid return of the jedi. and with the last jedi they completly destroyed it.
Yup
I actually like solo. Turned my brain off and it was a good time. I thought the feminist drone was idiotic but other than that it was fun.
The droid was just comic aspect. I liked it as it gave me smile. So the movie was not only very serious.
Just to be accurate I think they were making fun of feminism not agreeing with it in Solo
@@darkthorpocomicknight7891 you can never tell with Hollywood movies
The droid is a perfect example of how devious Disney can be. They crafted it and it’s dialogue JUST right, so that if you’re on the anti feminist side, you can interpret it as satire, but if you are pro feminist, it works as a rallying cry.
@@BackRoadsParanormalResearch I just choose to interpret her as a joke so I don't feel uncomfortable watching it.
The three prequels that were made in the late 90s and early 2000s made me interested in the Star Wars universe!
Yeah, same. I've actually seen the original Star Wars first, but only after watching AoTC in 2002 (which later became my least favorite of the 6) I got into Star Wars, and watched the other 3 movies (and of course ROTS in 2005). Doubt happened to anyone with the sequels.
Yeah THE BEST
prequel & original trilogy were great but the sequels were horrible
I agree I love the prequels. Not because there good movies but because they added mystique and mystery and a whole new era full of questions. It's Ideas excellent top tier, execution: questionable.

Ricardo Garcia That’s fine. And hey, could’ve been worse.
@@elephantpowerproductions I was not going to see Solo as I felt that after The trashed Jedi there was not much good that could come out from the currant Lucasfilm story group. At the same time Rogue One ruined the lore from the EU

The Last Jedi killed the SW cinematic universe (for now).
I hope they remove it from canon, I dont accept it as canon either way to be honest
Amen. I lost faith in the Disney Star Wars ever since

Well yeah the film was bad but I hope episode 9 isnt a mess and I liked TFA
I won't be boycotting Ep IX - that would be just silly. Truth is, I have nothing to expect from IX and the trilogy in general, as every tension is resolved by VIII and the remaining characters are very dull and one-dimensional. The only question I have about IX is how they handle Leia. And I wouldn't spend 2 hours of my life to answer that question.

Boycot mean people still care. After The Last Joke, I don’t care anymore
TFA was shit too, but it sold because it was a set-up movie. If TLJ had been good, TFA would have been saved.

While I find 90% of your video hilarious--I LOVE the exposition-heavy prequels. They were exercises in world-building to me, even if they didn't end up as enjoyable and brisk as the Original Trilogy.
@@RobespierreThePoof America, as it turns out!
@@RobespierreThePoof why does he have bad taste? admit it you only hate the prequels because its popular. only the first one was actually bad.
The biggest problem of the prequels for me is to justify that a man becomes the biggest villain on the galaxy because of not having sex.

You are a real one
Arguably, Star Wars is just as good as any setting to make a cinematic universe. You can write literally any story you want when there's an actually fucking galaxy worth of things you can do in Star Wars.
It's just how you write it, and why you write it.
You know, instead of writing pandering fan service non-sense, write something new, in a literal galaxy worth of things to do.
That's the point. Get away from established characters and make up new shit
If there's no stormtroopers it's not a Star Wars movie, that's what people want to see out of a Star Wars movie."
This type of logic has clearly crippled any creative freedom they should have.

4:45 Using the force to see the future, can you?
It's extremally funny to watch those commentaries about potential Kenobi spinoff, while one is happening right now. And it's happening exactly as you predicted :D
Disney should have started telling stories from other time periods or regions in the Star Wars Universe. They could have taken the best stories from the Expanded Universe to do so, or just riff on the ideas. Expanding on the same characters was a mistake.
The Disney-Lucasfilm can get thrown in the 7th/8th canon so it would be less contradictive.
Id much rather see revenge of the ewoks than episode 9

I really wish they would just make a new trilogy set like 100 years in the future with new characters. That would be a lot harder to screw up, still possible but much harder. Like if the old wise character does not give a damn then that's the character instead of it being Luke and your not like this isnt Luke. This is just my opinion though.
*cough* Knights of the Old Republic
Tl;dr
I agree with what you said and I think any story should do the same thing and not forcefully explore every nook and cranny just for thebsake of it.
Roberto Blanco What was your opinion on EP7? You didn’t mention it here and I was just interested to know.
Garbage
I guess you answered my question in an above comment about whether Rogue One was better than Solo.
And directed by Jar Jar Abrams, who also messed up Star Trek. Rogue one was ok, imo, best one after Return of the Jedi, the rest was just to fill the gaps. Solo tried, but was boring.
TLJ killed Star Wars...
JJ killed star wars.
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw Solo, because I thought it wud suck big time, but it was actually pretty decent!
I enjoyed the prequel trilogy because it had some epic fights and battle scenes I really appreciated, nothing like seeing dozens of lightsaber wielding jedi fighting hordes of enemies! Also yoda's fight scenes were fun to watch as well!!
B-but kyber crystals
Starwars is not like a marvel comic, it's closer to real life, it needs great romance, character evolution and adventurous plot choices!
"that satan? why's satan in a bar?"
Weird thing is that as a movie it was probably the best one of the new crop. Maybe next to Rogue One.
The Evangelion segment really confused me and I don't think my eyes are going to recover from that.
