ur "hardcore fans vs casual fans" thing kinda turns me off. sure some people r more vocal than others but in the end the split goes between fans and people ho never cared and saw one random movie. its an overal money grab this days and the "hardcore fans" that did introduce star wars to their kids and kept the fever alive r less and less interested. star wars was allways about entertainment and its getting less and less entertaining, both in movies and games.. facts..
@@cyberchild7018 honestly I wouldn't be surpised if +Michael Connolly is right in this context. They would blame the fans for them ruining the franchise
Star Wars fans: "I don't like Rey." Disney: _"oh wowwwwwww typical sexist Star Wars fans hating on strong female protagonists!1!!!"_ The same Star Wars fans: *love Ahsoka Tano, Princess Leia, Bo Katan, Asajj Ventress, Padme, Hera Syndulla, and many other female characters the same as they love the male ones.
@@blazingn86 yikes. Literally I'm positive most Star Wars fans don't mind female characters (in fact, characters like Ahsoka Tano or Princess Leia for example are some of the most popular characters in all of Star Wars) Disney is just calling us sexist to justify their inability to write decent plots and complex characters.
Honestly! Rey is a poorly written character that has a horrible character arc. She doesn't deserve to be in star wars, but of course whenever a man says that they are characterized as being sexist even though they just want good writing. NO ONE CARES IF THE MAIN CHARACTER IS FEMALE OR MALE IF THEY DON'T HAVE A GOOD CHARACTER ARC NO ONE WILL LIKE THEM. Well, except for people who want to please the left... People just want good stories!Stop trying to bring politics into it! We need more Star Wars like The Clone Wars. I rest my case.
EA Battlefront 1 wasnt good, it was ok not good EA Battlefront 2 too overhyped, was not good at launch, great currentlly due to Dice fighting for it with adding new stuff all the time
@@wafflestoast5228 More likely the problem is that they weren't. At the time I would've called the prequels diabolical but that was fifteen years before I found out what the devil was _truly_ capable of. The prequels were bad films, atrocious star wars films.
@Vino I have hopes Knives Out will at least give him a Wes Anderson appeal (saw it a few days ago at a film festival. It was great), but like Wes before him, TLJ pretty much guarantees working on more independent projects in the near future.
TRoS relied too much on fan service to tug on our heart strings. I'll admit, I actually liked it on first viewing, but looking back on it, the story and overall payoff was not good
Jedi: Fallen Order sucked as far as I'm concerned. Ya, lets have a SW game that glitches you right out of the game, over and over, has so little combat that you may as well not have a lightsaber at all, with such terrible game mechanics that you end up throwing your controller out the window, in frustration because you can't do anything properly. Oh boy, where do I sign up for THAT beta? The fact is, they ignored what the fans wanted, which was a TRUE sequel to battlefront 2, and 1313. But noo, they had to cancel those. Hell, they even sued the makers of the KotOR update, killing any chance we had of getting that. They didn't care what we wanted, and when they DID try to give us something (they thought) we wanted (TROS), they failed miserably with that too. And TCW, they only made 1 season of that. They can hardly be credited with ANYTHING to do with that one, except giving us 1 season of a show that they realized they never should have cancelled in the first place. A better example would have been Rebels. It's not nearly as good as TCW, but it had it's charms. Personally, I only liked the first 2 seasons, then I was done with it.
Fans have built better films than anything made by Disney for Star Wars. Darth Maul, Vader, and even some fan projects trying to turn Legacy of the Force novels into movies.
I'll NEVER forgive Disney for how they totally degraded and treated hero Luke Skywalker and completely ignored Anakin. Disney SW simply isn't Canon to me.
I don't know. History and National Geographic are perhaps the two companies that Disney has a reason to sell but either way, they should've been stopped decades ago after spending more than 3 decades of going really cheap in the live-action department to the point where nobody even cares about most of their live-action movies before 2000. Do you guys even realize that?
Smolby You may just get your wish. Keep an eye on the possible but out of Disney by Apple. Google it. Was just very recently & yes it has alot to do with the virus, virtually no one is going to movie theaters and not very many were before Corona Virus. Disney is well aware of the hatred for there films and they're finally getting it. It also has to do with their purchase of 21 St century Fox for which they had to pay over 30 billion if not more for and really, As farcas lucrative franchises go that Disney could capitalise on, there just aren't many there, aside from the 2 Alien & Planet of the Apes who's last entries didn't even make back their production costs so, it's for real & I hope it happens because if you thought what they did to star Wars was bad, wait until you see a Disney produced Alien film
@@chadwick4517 Most Alien movies got bad ratings from what I gathered and it's clear that people don't want anymore Alien films anyway. Plus, it's not like there's a possibility of toning down the violence because they *know* they'll get lots of hate if they do and the latest Predator movie remained R-rated. Case in point, people will want Disney to go R-rated because they especially expect thatt in Alien.
@@Clay3613 I think you're the one not living in reality bro. Go watch the many many interviews he had talking about how he didn't like the movie and what they did to Luke Skywalker.
Nice synopsis, but you left out Disney attacking the fans who disliked TLJ, and Mark Hammill's months of dropping hints at his horror at working with Rian Johnson
@@JRut99 Is Lucasfilms lack of character to protect its work from Disney. It's also Disney lack of vision and understanding of the franchise. Kennedy was to permissive with Bob Iger, she allowed him to treat Lucasfikm like it's Marvel Studios. Kennedy was in charge of chosing Jar Jar Abrams and Ruin Johnson, she was also not strong enough to protect Lucas involvement in the guidance of the new trilogy. At the end Bob Iger took the fault, and declared that "it was too much, too fast". Kennedy said "We didn't realize this was not Marvel".
Nobody wants dysmay, as the stories are not align with the original 6 films, as they attacked the fandom and called light sabres, laser swords is unforgivable, as making a mockery of luke skywalkers whole brilliant films by George lucas? How to crash star wars into the floor FACT!!
@@j-mshistorycorner6932 Look, I don't wanna get into the conspiracy theory that Disney paid off critics to leave glowing reviews of the movie... But it's a helluva lot more plausible than Russian bots and trolls destroying the reputation of a great movie because it has women in it. There were millions of people who saw the movie. Roughly half of those who saw it thought it was good and gave no more thought to it. I can't find a Star Wars fan open to dialogue that doesn't think letting Rian get close to the script was a mistake, though. We could have had a great script to go with the fantastic visuals. The directing Rian did is top-notch if you mute the TV.
@@eras1066 it's legit bruh I remember looking at ratings for the movie when it came out and they were in the low 20s from audience and then 50k reviews got deleted to bump up the rating. Same shit happened to captain marvel
It can be a good movie, if it has some connection with the previous movie. I personally think letting different directors handling the same trilogy is not a good move
“Did you ever hear the tragedy of The Last Jedi? I thought not. It's not a story George would tell you. It's a Rian legend. The Last Jedi was a dark piece of political and cultural subversion, so powerful and so wise it thought it could use the Franchise to influence the fandom to create everlasting riches… It had such knowledge of the dark side that it could even make the iconic characters they so cared about easily die. The dark, subversive side of the Franchise is a pathway to many narratives some consider to be unnatural. It became so powerfully hated … the only thing it was afraid of was losing money, which eventually, of course, Solo did. Unfortunately, George gave his apprentice everything he created, and then his apprentice killed it in his sleep. Ironic. George spent 40 years breeding a Golden Goose then sold it to a butcher.”
@bla blahblah lol oh he could be an awesome actor but naw, not down for them to write him like that and then be portrayed in such a way...just like what's happened with several of the other characters...it's a darn shame.
When you're happy with Disney that they're bringing Clone Wars back even though they were the ones that took it from you in the first place. "You have allowed this dark lord to twist your mind."
The funny thing is we don't need the Sequels for pretty much anything good in the series lately except for one neat little twist to start the later part of Fallen Order.
you see, the fans are what's wrong with star wars, not the movies the fandom. people can't accept or appreciate these new films. if fans didn't drive Lucas up the wall he would have made the sequel trilogy. we made the death bed now we need to sleep in it.
The only problem was that it was rushed which wasn't it's fault. No the ceo of disney didn't write the sequels Lucasfilm did. Everyone was gonna hate the sequels they literally said before they made them its gonna suck and that's final.
@Mustiboi Salman There is a different between liking something and thinking that something is objectively good or not. I like alot of movies that are badly made and not into good movies like the Shining or Jaws
@@MoreAwsomeMetal that's objectively false. Last Jedi made Force Awakens worse by creating plot holes it also copied Empire to a T and had the most contrived scenes in the series I wanna see proof that Force Awakens is nearly as offensive as Last Jedi
Here is the thing Many people were in denial that episode 8 was bad. Basically they were in stage one of grief, no way Disney could a bad Star Wars even no way Disney could make a movie this bad. That what was happening. I didn't help that the media is a bunch a payed sheels glorifying it. Anyone saying they liked The Last Jedi. Is in Denial(or still has rose tinted glasses on), A fucked Sheel, or just likes stuff other people hate.
It is a good individual movie, bad middle movie of a trilogy. Rise of Skywalker is the only shit movie in the Sequels. The main issue is that they never had a plan and let each director do their own thing, a recipe for disaster.
Its funny now that a crowd of people can apreciate the phantom menace now. I never hated any of the films when they came out when i was young. I thought this was pretty cool stuff! I loved thar robot with the one eye!
D&D are talented, they directed all of GoT after all, it's just that after they got word that Disney were offering that sweet sweet cash they peace'd out of GoT and dropped the series, that's why the last 2 seasons are rushed beyond belief, they wanted to get started on the Star Wars money boat as soon as possible. They're not bad writers or directors, they're bad people.
To me, they executed Order 66 with TLJ, TFA was just to hook us and make money at the theaters for their next project so they could do the deed with TLJ, imo.🤢 Well, WE have "the high ground" now. 😠 So, they're gonna keep KK for another 3 yrs. huh? 🤦🏾♀️ Well, that'll be another 3 yrs. of money loses then. 👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾🤣🤣🤣
I remember watching the first two films of the sequels and thinking “You know, they aren’t the best, but you know, i’ll take it. Wasn’t expecting much since it’s coming from Disney.” Then when Rise of Skywalker came out and I had a friend come to me telling me he was about to spoil it against my wishes, but I would be grateful in the end. He told me Palpatine survived the 2nd death star and I kinda laugh and thought he was joking...
The thing is us fans didnt want EVERYTHING catered to us when it came to this sequel trilogy. Just one thing Disney could have done for us, treated the OT characters with respect and not use them as somekind of social message in the movies. They could have given us ONE scene showing Luke, Leia and Han all meeting up, on screen for one last time, a "reunion" and there would not hve been all the backlash there is now.
Andrew Pytko Nothing, actually I don’t think any execs understand this. Rogue one proved that fan service can be successful, yet they haven’t learned it. They don’t understand that letting a directly say fuck you I wanna make my own movie to an entire fan base is not a good idea, and it forced Solo to flop and now they’re paying for it
Disney reminds me of the CCP in China...😂😂😂 they think they knew what the public wanted but instead they just killed it without a care in the world but trying to bring in the money and now no one believes them anymore so it’s gonna be hard to do business in the future...it’s only the brainwashed die hard Star Wars fans that think anything after the force awakens film is good (which it wasn’t that good to be fair anyway but I was excited to see what they had to offer!) and now all I’m thinking to myself is that I don’t want to hand over my money to them anymore with their shit products....it’s such a shame to the fans and will never be the same again 😔 RIP Star Wars
Everyone hated on the prequels and now look where that got us. Go back and watch the prequels and you'll see they don't deserve half the criticism they got.
The fans who were butthurt about how bad the prequels were are the reason George sold Lucasfilm to Disney. We can thank them for fuking Star Wars in the first place.
Just another example of a female getting an undeserved job on account of being female just so a mega corporation can appeal to their SJW audience for some reason. Also she can't be fired for her quite frankly, disgustingly offensive incompetence, because that would be sexist.

You know the review site which asks people to rate the movie right when the leave the theater on opening day...yeah sitting at a solid "A". It has 91 percent on rotten tomatoes and 85 on metacritic (which averages all critic scores). You know the first week before all this toxic crap flooded the internet, TLJ had phenomenal user reviews as well. When I went, (on the 3rd day it was out), people clapped at the end. So don't give me that bullshit. People stopped enjoying the movie cause they went into it expecting to hate it. Idk if you know who Ben Shapiro is, but he is known for being a fairly impartial judge of pretty much anything. He didn't like TLJ, yet was able to come up with so many positive aspects of the film. However, every comment I see is like yours- over-dramatic, bandwagon on the hate train BULLSHIT. Frankly its easily one of the better star wars movies, especially when you consider Rian Johnson had to write this movie after that dumpster first, hot pile of garbage that was TFA. Haha and if you don't think EVERY single star wars movie has gaping plot holes (and some way worse than TLJ) then you are deluded.
@@emperormouse5487 it was not, TLJ broke star wars in many places(bending/tearing the established rules of the universe), TLJ didn't answer anything about The force awakens and basically didn't follow certain rules for movie making. TLJ is/was a bad movie, it's a simple fact.
It is more canonical then anything Disney makes because it's narratives were 'approved' by George Lucas. Thus they have more connection to the original creator and THAT is what defines cannon. People confuse canon with continuity, the former is defined by WHO made it, the later is a set of fictional history that is being used for derivative work.
George Lucas: Where is Star Wars, is it safe, is it alright. Fans: It seems in your anger you sold it to Disney George: I couldn’t have. It was alive I felt it. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Man I'm a star wars fan, and if it's star wars I'm fucking with it! Even the obliteration Han solo film. Episode 3 to me was by far the best and one of the greatest films of all time, ep 8 was deff the worse out of the Skywalker saga... But that's what they get for switching from Jj Abrams to some random ass guy, like he didn't kno what jj was planning for the trilogy and to expect him to take the trilogy in the same direction that Abrams had planned is blasphemy, Disney recognized that and went back to him to close out the saga.. I just wish they would've kept him for all 3 but the past is the past and I have faith he will do his best to finish this saga to his best ability. I just want to see the old republic and some R rated star wars trilogy's already, they need to do a trilogy on Revan that leads into a trilogy about Darth Nihilus or a trilogy about Abeloth
@@SiddarthaTB it was the worst star wars yet, rated worse then even Episode I by the fans. Currently fans have it at 44% on rotten tomatoes, though I'll admit a minority of those that saw it probably liked it, most did not, its failures hurt Solo, and will hurt Episode 9. There was a laundry list of problems with the plot whitch was B movie quality, but if you don't care about good plot and story and just want flashy effects theres always another Transformers movie coming out.
Disney was one of the studios that turned down Star Wars back when George Lucas was trying to make the first one. Now that its a success they want it, and in a strange twist it has not been successful for them. Maybe they shouldn't have trashed George's outline for the sequels and ignored the rest of the EU stories and projects.
The most heart breaking part of all this is how crushed mark Hamill is. Disney got his hopes up that he would reprise one of the most iconic roles in movie history only to crush his dreams by ruining his character
Just the name “skywalker” sounds so badass. Shame on all of them. Even george lucas for handing his own life’s work completely over to a bunch of nutcases
I did feel sorry for him but Mark has turned out to be such a Twat , he hates me cause I dare hold different Political opinions to him. Seems like a horrible human.
I wonder if that poor guy who said he watched episode 3 at the same spot he is watching episode 7 at 10 years later with his sons after missing one of their births gave up on the franchise after episode 8...cause good god...poor dude..in one way you feel bad cause its just pure joy and hope and excitement and I hope he wasn't let down but in another way its kinda funny cause while loyalty matters its why we don't get better quality cause these media people know idiots will eat up anything with the name brand on it even if its low quality sadly and make as much money as they want off these fools without proving the right service and its an endless loop
The level of mismanagement of Star Wars under Disney has been so bad it's kind of hard to believe. This is the biggest franchise in the history of pop culture and they decided it would be a good idea to go into a new trilogy with no plan and the audacity to pull the plug on the old extended universe.
As a casual Star Wars movie fan, I can safely say that The Last Jedi killed my entire interest in Star Wars. I’ll just stick with the OT. This is a sad time.
Unfortunately can totally agree with you. I have zero interest in rewarding Disney/KK for carefully dismantling the franchise into an unlovable entity.
The second best thing they could do is allow Turner Broadcasting and Adult Swim to air the entire Star Wars: Clone Wars micro-series on Toonami on Adult Swim for one night only in December.
Yes, the story is more important than the political correctness or racial/gender equality or the actors who are old now/dying/died. Why the directors don't understand this?!
Since George Lucas sold his company to Disney they have: Shut down the fan loved and financially successful Clone Wars. Shut down the financially successful Star Wars games division which were producing a game that through hype alone was guaranteed to be a success. Released two god awful sequels which are so bad that fans have realised that the prequels are actually GOOD now. Released several animated successors which have largely been rejected as regurgitated crap by the community. Released SOLO, an alright film that was destroyed by fan rejection of the chaotic practices of Disney. What's next? How much longer will they continue to insist and destroying our beloved franchise before they just give up and Star Wars is shelved for decades...
the thing is Hayden Christensen isnt a bad actor. I guarantee they forced him to play it that dead and horribly. Go watch him in jumper. He's interesting and fun. Yes its not the deepest movie in the world but he does a good job in it. In SW he walked around with a stick up his ass looking annoyed with life and talking in a bizarre emotionless fake-deep voice
I remember the day the last Jedi premiered world wide. There was excitement, people walked into the theater with so much anticipation that Was intoxicating. Then when everyone walked out, that excitement was gone. You just could feel this was the turning point in Disney Star Wars, going from excitement to complete apathy, and that hasn’t changed since
Episodes 7 and 8 are crap, but Rogue One and Solo are vastly superior to those godawful prequels. That being said, the only EXCELLENT Star Wars films are still the original three. They have spawned a 42-year media giant because they really are THAT GOOD.
KA12345 A1234 fr man I personally love the prequels. Maybe it’s just because I grew up with them but everyone has to admit episode 3 really made up for that trilogy. hopefully episode 9 does the same bc the last Jedi was horrible
All I want is Disney to admit that they made an awful Star Wars movie. That's all I want. Stop making excuses for why we hate it. We are not bots, sexist, or racist. We are fans that are upset with a bad movie with plot holes and bad characters. And don't lash out at your fans for their criticism (but toxic criticism IS way worse than TLJ). Me personally I liked TFA and RO, but this was awful. TLJ ruined TFA because of these. I saw this along with 30 friends all for free (church camp trip) and we felt bad for the person who bought all of our tickets. Even Mark Hamill seemed worried about TLJ. He looked so sick whenever he was asked about his opinion of TLJ. He constantly stated he didn't see this Luke as the Luke that we grew up with. I'm sorry Disney. I really want to like this movie but I can't and i don't know if i will see 9. could give a whole list why I hated it but I'll try to keep that to myself. All I want is just a simple sorry and for us to move on. And I'm sorry Kelly Marie Tran for all the hate you got for Rose Tico. Hopefully Disney gets you a movie to redeem yourself. You did your best with what they gave you. Hate the movie not the player
I fully agree, all I really want, all it would really take for me to be on board with seeing episode 9 would be admitting that they had done something wrong and apologizing for it, because otherwise I can't believe that they aren't going to continue doing what they did wrong in the first place because obviously if they don't think that they did anything wrong they aren't going to stop doing it, it's in The Last Jedi, failure is an amazing teacher however it is only a teacher if you recognize your failure and try to avoid repeating it in the future
@ ClassyRanger Damn right! But sorry, that will be a bit longer... My interest to see Episode 9 is ZERO! But do not expect any apology from Disney. That would make them lose face and admit that they do not know what to do with the Star Wars brand. Disney remains Disney. Do not tease and whitewash everything family friendly. Therefore, I also believe that they wanted to deliberately break with TLJ with the old fanbase, which has always been enthusiastic for a rougher Star Wars with clear role distributions. Humor yes, but no kid-friendly slapstick for its own sake. But thats what Disney want. The old fanbase, grown up with the old trilogy, the Dark Horse Comics and many books, are just only a burden for Disney. Disney don't need a fanbase that analyzes every aspect of a new product, in every detail. They only wan't stupid consumers who ask nothing behind. And i think, Kelly Marie Tran has not just a bad role, she also played it miserably, because the role of Rose Tico does not fit into the story at all, but only serves as a placeholder to teach the audience morally. But thats RJs main misstake, and not Kelly's. There were certainly a few critics who crossed the line to racism and sexism. That was by no means the majority, but it stuck in the public debate about TLJ. The problem is that Disney has lumped all the fans together and did not even begin to differentiate.
It was as if Disney had been waiting to attack the fanbase with baseless insinuations.
To cut a long story short, RJ ignored the foundations of TFA, sabotaged JJA's work, and unleashed a gender debate that fanbase never led. In my 30 years with SW, I have never cared for gender roles. Up to TLJ... The film tried to preach "equality" with the mallet method. And here comes the point where it becomes unrealistic ... Describing fans as sexists who criticize roles such as Holdo and Rose, but love Leia at the same time and mourn the death of Carrie Fisher, almost show's how insensitive and narcissistic Disney is at times. Back at the topic, Disney seems to want to dispose of the old fanbase by offending them and praising only the positive criticism of casual Star Wars consumers who found TLJ good. By now I'm at a point where Disney's acting for me has absolutely method. The SW-EU is no longer considered a canon, is the strongest proof for me, that Disney wants to tear down all the foundations of the old fanbase to transform Star Wars into a product that works at any time for 6 year old Kids. There is no interest in grayscale in the SW universe. Black and white sells better, especially among the younger crowd. Star Wars has been guiding me all my life, but after TLJ i have enough of Disney's interpretation of Star Wars. The only thing that still arouses my interest, is The Mandalorian, but as soon as even once, childish slapstick for 6 year old Kids in it, or any moral instruction finds in it, I am finally out of Disneys SW.
I wasn't too pleased with TFA, since it went in a direction I didn't really like, but it still made me interested to see what would happen in the next installment TLJ made me feel insulted to be a Star Wars fan after watching it
@@RobimusPrime I don't know in what universe the last Jedi felt like Star Wars, I left that movie thinking I walked into wrong room. Where was the comradely adventure? only adventure I got was rose and fin(?) who's entire arc was useless and unnecessary waste of time. You can take that entire arc out of the movie and you wouldn't miss anything and save 30 min.
TFA felt too much like a rehash of A New Hope. It's only enjoyable enough from the fanservice of the older characters. The Last Jedi felt like a high budget Spaceballs but with humor that falls flat
I didn’t feel insulted to be a Star Wars fan, I just felt sad that anything new from Star Wars from that point on would never again bring me the excitement, joy, and anticipation I felt about anything prior.
I don't understand with Disney how giving the people what they want isn't the best option. Literally if The Last Jedi was much better than it was. EVERYONE would be seeing it multiple times.
No, unfortunately it's not, it being a corporate cash grab would be fantastic, the Marvel movies are corporate cash grab, Star Wars however is caring more about being a vehicle for political ideas than trying to make money, it's too busy shoving diversity into every orifice it can manage and shunning anyone who complains about it

@@BitmapJack There is hope for the future. RTD continued Dr Who well back when it returned to the airwaves, and Manny Coto managed to turn ENT's last season into actual Trek, before it was cancelled. The problem here is JJ. Over time he's been shown to be a business man first, Director second. Which isn't bad... Directors need to manage budget's and teams etc, but since ep7, and the preceding Star Trek scuffle behind the scene's where he tried to shelf Prime Timeline Trek, I've come to see him as a businessman first, Director second... Fan third, if he ever was one. A man who tries to shut down and shelf all Trek except his own isn't a fan. And while he was smart enough to develop a new ST universe, he wasn't smart enough to see ahead and plan the merch rights to work alongside existing Trek.
Let's just say most of the downsides are actually just Rose and Finn screen time and their incompetence... Okay ahem - Mary Sue's, boy Rey really took the cake on that one, i agree. - Emo-Goth Whiny Tantrum-throwing Father-killers, I think he is very complicated and confused... but dark side and all, was Anakin better? I think he wasn't. - Beloved characters randomly dying for no good reason, Okay... problem here, Han Solo --> Harrison Ford asked for it Leia is still alive --> dunno how much that'll help now :( Luke --> He's one with the force... he could not be in a better position tbh. Would have liked to see him actually fight though, i admit that much Phasma --> NVM, everyone's glad she died. (i hope for good, bringing her back would be so lame) - Broken hyperspace rules. Well maybe, but it definitely was the most awesome collateral damage in movie history! - Broken Force rules. Well I'm still glad they didn't just push and pull and mind trick anymore, i liked how they used the force in the movie - book burning, THE HOLY WRITINGS OF THE JEDIIII, I liked the bubble bursting lightning tho - Unexplained Jedi-powers. like the image-creating meditation? Luke's brain also created images in the dark cave of dagobah, I say it's possible. Want scientific proof? Because i sure would like to know how force lightning works then. I could probably think of an explanation myself, but same goes for any other "unexplained power" in the series. - Telling your child-audiences that they don't have to study or work hard to become good at something. Well the force seems to change quite a bit, so what? Maybe the mediclorians realized the way things are they kinda suck? I personally don't prefer to eat the same meal every day. Can't recall, but that doesn't sound good. - Setting up story lines then dropping them, later on. I guess... - "Empty gift-box" type subversiveness. Is this about Snoke? I think his death was perfect. - Incompetent male-heroes. Finn and Poe - Incompetent female-heroes (while trying to tell us that they're awesome). Rose and Holdo - Turning a potential hero, who had a really good start, into a slapstick-humor "token black guy". Sad but true... this always happens. - Telling your audience that they suck. Who needs Disneys opinion on that? On my opinion at least not literally EVERYTHING sucks about it.

The problem with that is that even George Lucas considers the comics and novels fan fiction that he allowed people to profit from as long as he got a cut. He never consider the extended Universe as cannon Disney would have to contact Dark Horse and make deals. Which would never happen as some of the best directors have said, "Disney doesn't like giving people free range to do what them want". Even if K. Kennedy is fired that would hire someone like her.
Why do you people even care about what is cannon or not ? It doesn't change anything about the novels, comics and games. They haven't changed or disappeared the moment disney said they were doing their own thing. The stories we experienced haven't changed from good to bad. We can still get access to them. What about the prequels?
I agree about the rise of Sky-Zombie
Personally, I only liked the first 2 seasons, then I was done with it.

i honestly really dislike how they have made star wars into more of a confusing comedy than an actual serious and full franchise
The Expanded universe is still canon in my eyes
And forever it will be canon
Yeah disney canon is not canon for me
It is more canonical then anything Disney makes because it's narratives were 'approved' by George Lucas. Thus they have more connection to the original creator and THAT is what defines cannon. People confuse canon with continuity, the former is defined by WHO made it, the later is a set of fictional history that is being used for derivative work.
Thesnaccattackishere hell yeah. I’ve read just over a hundred Star Wars novels and will not be told they didn’t happen

ClassyRanger
Damn right!
I wasn't too pleased with TFA, since it went in a direction I didn't really like, but it still made me interested to see what would happen in the next installment

TFA felt too much like a rehash of A New Hope. It's only enjoyable enough from the fanservice of the older characters. The Last Jedi felt like a high budget Spaceballs but with humor that falls flat

Disney's a pretty decent fanfiction writer. But that's all they are and that's all they'll ever be.
and I'm not much for Star Wars fanfiction.
Let's just say most of the downsides are actually just Rose and Finn screen time and their incompetence...
Okay ahem
- Mary Sue's, boy Rey really took the cake on that one, i agree.
- Emo-Goth Whiny Tantrum-throwing Father-killers, I think he is very complicated and confused... but dark side and all, was Anakin better? I think he wasn't.
- Beloved characters randomly dying for no good reason, Okay... problem here,
Han Solo --> Harrison Ford asked for it
Leia is still alive --> dunno how much that'll help now :(
Luke --> He's one with the force... he could not be in a better position tbh. Would have liked to see him actually fight though, i admit that much
Phasma --> NVM, everyone's glad she died. (i hope for good, bringing her back would be so lame)
- Broken hyperspace rules. Well maybe, but it definitely was the most awesome collateral damage in movie history!
- Broken Force rules. Well I'm still glad they didn't just push and pull and mind trick anymore, i liked how they used the force in the movie
- book burning, THE HOLY WRITINGS OF THE JEDIIII, I liked the bubble bursting lightning tho
- Unexplained Jedi-powers. like the image-creating meditation? Luke's brain also created images in the dark cave of dagobah, I say it's possible. Want scientific proof? Because i sure would like to know how force lightning works then. I could probably think of an explanation myself, but same goes for any other "unexplained power" in the series.
- Telling your child-audiences that they don't have to study or work hard to become good at something. Well the force seems to change quite a bit, so what? Maybe the mediclorians realized the way things are they kinda suck? I personally don't prefer to eat the same meal every day. I think Sith and Jedi bitching at each other is old cheese. Been there, done that. Not sure if that's gonna continue forever, but I'd be glad about some sort of solution/unification.
- Saving horses; but abandoning child-slaves/Illegal parking during a life-or-death mission/Dropping a life-or-death mission, resulting in the deaths of people... to save animals (because "priorities")/Passive-aggressiveness from someone who's supposed to be a "good guy" (or girl)
---> can't argue with that, Rose and Finn completely suck.
- Nihilistic philosophy in a family-friendly film. Can't recall, but that doesn't sound good.
- Setting up story lines then dropping them, later on. I guess...
- "Empty gift-box" type subversiveness. Is this about Snoke? I think his death was perfect.
- Incompetent male-heroes. Finn and Poe
- Incompetent female-heroes (while trying to tell us that they're awesome). Rose and Holdo
- Turning a potential hero, who had a really good start, into a slapstick-humor "token black guy". Sad but true... this always happens.
- Telling your audience that they suck. Who needs Disneys opinion on that?

Cris Fuentes If somebody said that Disney made Star Wars good again, then that’s their opinion. They’re not trying to be “intelligent”
@@cookiepowers1850 it is just an alternate way to call what they say stupid.
@@ddy7323 it is an intelligent way to call people stupid
Using the very prequels against them! See how low they have fallen.
@@cookiepowers1850 r/whoosh
Who ever did rogue one needed to do star wars.
Omg facts!!!
BuggsDwabbit who me?
Needed my nigga said needed
YES!!!!
I agree,Rogue One was the best Disney has come up with so far...
This would not be a conversation if Rey had flaws like a normal person and the Anthology films used legends material instead of just rewriting the events between Episodes 3-4.
It might not even be so bad if they had kept Rey, kept the SJW politics but simply set it all during the Yuzzan Vong arc. I could live with that
Well considering tlj completly shat all over the hard work in the originals, yes it would of been talked about
Yeah seriously. She’s more powerful than the most powerful Jedi ever? With no training? She’s basically invincible and for no reason.
Shawn Shaw they should have adapted the Thrawn Trilogy books. Just altered the time period to fit the older age of the actors.
@@martinjrgensen8234 They actually should've just followed Lucas' _actual_ VII-IX story template. Why would you shut the creator of an IP out of the creative process??
If there is anything you need to learn, it’s that if you ever own a really successful film company, don’t sell it to Disney. They will infamously screw it up.
You forgot about the Toys not sell.
Alberto Arras those Rose Nico Kim Jong uhn girl toys
jadehelm288 0 The new Star Wars toys from these films are worthless, compared to the old classic ones from the OG series and prequels
Whats that useless asian chick from 8? Her character never sells and i work at a toy store.
@@wetbanana4782 yeah she is probably the most hated star wars character ever, even worse than jar jar. While jar jar had some comedic function for kids rose was just horrible and ruined another character too. In my opinion jar jar isnt that bad, because you can ignore him pretty good and he doesnt have a huge impact on the story which rose definitly has.
@@kyrex1785 at least jarjar had a wild fan theory. But yeah i agree they just all together had poorly written up characters and the story just made no sense. Too many plot holes, disregarding the universes logic. Fuck i gotta calm myself again.
You left out continuous attacks on the fans by Kathleen and her cultists. Everything that I loved about SW was destroyed. I m done with SW
He also said the backlash against Felicity Jone's character was simply because she was a female lead so that might give you a hint as to why.
Kennedy put the J in the middle of SW.
@Filmfan Johnny You don't know me. You assume much. I even deleted the games
@Filmfan Johnny im probably the biggest star wars fan you'll meet and i havent seen nor will see Solo or The Last Jedi. Im not okay at all with their bullshit political stuff they keep pushing in the movies. Keep the SJW PC culture out of my star wars movies. I'll play Kotor 1&2, the real battlefront 2 and watch the prequels and originals all day every damn day but ill be damned if i ever rewatch TFA or even try to watch Solo or TLJ. TFA is a shitty remake of a new hope and the last jedi destroyed all the interesting things JJ had set up in TFA. I doubt ill watch another Star Wars media unless its made by Dave Filoni or its the Kenobi film, and only if that has Ewan McGregor playing Obi Wan again and they keep kathleen kennedys grubby sjw hands out of it. "THE FORCE IS FEMALE" shut the fuck up kathleen kennedy the force isnt a fucking sentient being its a god damn part of the entire fucking universe amd its not a fucking living thing its like gravity and atmospheres its just fucking there the damn sjw fucking cunt tries to SJW everything
@Filmfan Johnny Then why did solo flop?
The new trilogy as been an absolute ABOMINATION
Truth. What they've done to Luke ALONE is enough to make me hate these films, and when you throw in the fifteen hundred other problems that I have with them, well...it ain't so good. :(
@@SuperTonyony I agree, Luke deserved better, like his actor, Mark Hamill.
I agree, they are a abysmal rip-offs of both Prequel Trilogy and Original Trilogy
JAL *In your opinion
The plotholes
Me watching Disney Star Wars: “YOU’RE BREAKING MY HEART!”
Disney: “LIAR!!”
Prequel-Original Saga: I Hear, a new apprentice (Disney), you have, California, or should I call you.......Darth Calius?
California: Prequel-Original Saga, You Survived.................
Prequel-Original Saga: Surprised?
California: Your Arrogance BLINDS You, Prequel-Original Saga. Now, you will experience the full power of The Dark Side!
The Extended Universe is cannon , the disney timeline isnt cannon .....
End of
Basically this, whatever project anyone can come up with I can only hope they ignore the disney timeline, I sure will do.
Perhaps the new trilogy is just a bad dream that Luke is having and in the end he wakes up beside Mara Jade.
It's a good thing they made that decision. We get 2 parallel universes, opportunities for different stories for the same era.
But of course disney fucked up with the movies . Hopefully the rest will be good.
Damn right.
George Lucas once said "Star wars is really all about Anakin. It starts when he is a 9 year old boy, and ends when he dies". That is also my Star Wars. I loved the ending to "Return of the Jedi", but with the new movies, they make the ending seem so unimportant. If you ask me, that is.
He also originally planned nine movies and decided after episode 3 not to do the final 3 movies
Amalie Skjoldaa dont worry the rise of Skywalker will make things clear to you
David Lafond he but he told JJ Abrams what they were gonna be , you'll see in episode 9
@@bodiecollection I wouldn't be surprised if these were the movies he planned on making in the beginning, which was my original point
@ Amalie Skjoldaa. Agreed!!!
Jesus. I never actually internalized how completely and ruthlessly Disney demolished my faveourite franchise before I saw your video.
And I'm still only at 9:32
Yeah I cried so hard that robot chicken couldn't make a Star Wars show....GTFO

NOT A SINGLE REAL FAN LIKES THE NEW TRILOGY PERIOD! 😒
