Hitting 14 over with 2 triples is very good going. Your game gives inspiration to me, and I'm sure many others, as you post some great scores without hitting everything miles. Just seems so effortless and an approach to emulate
Cheers Dave, I was very pleased with the score Maesdu is one of the tougher courses I play. Being absent minded after playing bad holes helps so much! Thanks for watching :)
Great round James. Good to see you back to your best. The views during your round are fantastic - not easy concentrating on the golf with scenery like that ! Lovely part of the world.
What a lovely day to be golfing! And it’s clear that your skill is showing the accumulated benefit of playing often during the “warmer” months. Let’s hope some of that skill survives through winter!
Well done James, bar a couple of blips a really solid round of golf on a lovely looking course, always enjoy these vlogs, you come across as always enjoying being out there playing be it good or bad. 👍 Onwards to the next vlog
Beautiful location and great weather for a round of golf. Good score, James and I agree that you definitely left a few shots out there. On another day you'd have holed a few more puts.
Hi James, this was a very good round .Despite a few wobbles you played slightly under your handicap which is always nice.Driving and putting pretty consistent.Maesdu looks to be a beautiful course in a stunning location.Very enjoyable video.Well done again .
Another breathtaking course. A piece of land like that where I live would end up 1000 ridiculously priced mansions. Also another great round as well. Congratulations. Nice club twirl too.
Good effort man. Solid scoring. You are a very consistent ball striker. Your swing is short simple and repeatable I reckon you can get to single figures
Great round once again-wonderful attitude, great swing and different but great driving and distance. Youre actually better than your handicap and if you played error free, youd be under 80 easily. Such advancement in a short time, well done
Another great video and a good round. Not played Maesdu since the changes but its a nice course. However for that price would rather play its adjacent neighbour the North Wales club.
You talked about not making putts on the first nine, but you were doing better on the back, well I thought the greens looked slow and it just took you a bit of time to adjust to the speed, certainly your lag putting improved as the round went on. Looking forward to the next video, cheers.
Cheers man, the putting green was lightening fast on this day and it had me in defensive mode starting out. I figured out the speed by the back 9 and even when the heavy air came I wasn't leaving the putts short 👍👍👍
Another decent round of golf. Golden rule...... don't forget your sandwich 😜😜😜. Stunning location. Looks like I'm going to have to come down to Wales for some very good courses at reasonable prices too..
Great stuff as always James. I find the same thing about greens in reg vs holing putts. When I hit lots of greens in reg, I'm a good 2 or 3 putt distance from the hole, but when I miss the green I then chip on and end up closer making more putts. One day we will both do both and it'll be single figures for us, lol. My handicap is the same as yours, it was the same as yours when it was around 30 and we've both tracked down to 14 at the same pace, although I've only played 41 rounds of golf in these 4 years since starting, but my progress has come from also playing about 120 virtual rounds at the range on TopTracer. PS... I never got to play Nefyn, the day I was due to tee off I had to drive back home to tend to a sick cat, arrrrrggghhhh. It was a sunny day with zero wind as well, bloody cat! One day I'll actually get to play Nefyn. All the best.
Great round James. If you and the rest of us amateurs could not have less blow up holes we could really post some better scores. Love the channel mate!!!
Cheers George, I was very happy with the score at the end. Eliminating blow up holes is so much more important than making birdies at the mid to high handicap level. There's always room for improvement that's one of the things I love about golf 👍👍👍
Hey James, I'm a member at Maesdu. I think I saw you out there on this day a couple weeks ago? I was walking down 9 when you were setting up on the 5th fairway. Your ball striking is a bit more consistent than mine but I've managed to break 90 this year quite a few times and have shot 84 twice as my best rounds, although my scoring is quite inconsistent, equally over 90 to under 90. Anyway, enjoying your videos, very chill and relaxing to watch! Oh and I just ordered one of those range finders, been meaning to get one for a while but they are expensive, thanks for the recommendation for an affordable one!
Cheers mate, you are lucky to be a member at such a great course. Maesdu is tougher than it looks as almost any hole can be a blowup if you are out of position. Well done on carding those 84s it's always great to shoot a PB. Hope the rangefinder improves your scoring further, it did for me... 👍👍👍
Just discovered your channel and I'm really enjoying it. I was curious why you putt rather than go for the bump and run with an 8/9/PW when you're in the rough just off the green like on the 1st? Your chipping seems to be pretty solid so is that just personal preference for the flat stick?
Iphone 11 pro (std model) with one of the cheaper Rode mics filmed in 60 fps 1080p. I tried using the 15 pro but I need to get a new mic plus the footage looks weird and bleached out. I will figure it out soon enough... 👍👍👍
It's 33 inches and seems to suit my stroke better than other putters. I will probably continue to chop and change in the future though searching for that elusive 'perfect putter.' :)
From the internet: Golf Terminology Mayor's Office - straight, all the way down at the end of the hall. Said when someone bombs one long and straight. “Wow. Nice drive. That's in the Mayor's office.”
Hi I really enjoy your videos. I am a 12 year old golfer, my handicap index is 5.4. I am a member at Wallasey golf club and was wondering if you would like to join me for a round at Wallasey?
Hey mate, that's an amazing handicap you have at such a young age. Plus you are very lucky to be a member at one of the best courses in all of the UK. I'd love to play a round at your wonderful course but unfortunately I am leaving the UK next week so can't make it. I wish you all the best in your golfing journey all the way down to scratch and beyond! 👍👍👍 - James
It's all about the rollout. My driver usually carries 190-200 yards. As long as the first bounce is on the fairway and is relatively straight then you get the rollout. I even mention it twice in the vid 👍👍👍
Hitting 14 over with 2 triples is very good going. Your game gives inspiration to me, and I'm sure many others, as you post some great scores without hitting everything miles. Just seems so effortless and an approach to emulate

Great round James. Good to see you back to your best. The views during your round are fantastic - not easy concentrating on the golf with scenery like that ! Lovely part of the world.
Cheers Dave, I was very pleased with the score it's a tough track Maesdu 👍👍👍
Love the club twirl on the 18th 👏👏👏
Did not know that you are a golfer. If you come to Colombia one day, I will invite you for a round
Cheers Carl, I've started doing club twirls recently as it normally gees me up later on in the round. Whatever works right? 👍👍👍
Best golf I have seen you play ball strickjng wise well done!
Cheers, I was pleasantly surprised to par both SI 1 & 2. That is definitely a rarity on this channel :)
What a lovely day to be golfing! And it’s clear that your skill is showing the accumulated benefit of playing often during the “warmer” months. Let’s hope some of that skill survives through winter!
Cheers John, the season is almost over but I have definitely made the most of it this year! 👍👍👍
A lovely looking course and a great round - Well played.
Cheers Mark, I always enjoy my rounds at Maesdu whatever the scorecard looks like 👍👍👍
Good scoring James with lovely weather showcasing a terrific course - Maes Du is my favourite North Wales course.
Enjoyed this very much, lovely golf course with beautiful views and the two key clubs (driver and putter) behaving themselves!
A well deserved beer!
Cheers mate, the putter finally turned up on the back 9! 👍👍👍
Well done, 14 over with two triples is good 👍, the sun setting over the 17th hole with the hills in the background, what it's all about
Well done james, great watching your rounds, 👍
Excellent again James very easy to watch you play please continue to post
Cheers Brian, a few more weekly uploads are in the pipeline and then it will become more sporadic like normal 👍👍👍
Well done James, bar a couple of blips a really solid round of golf on a lovely looking course, always enjoy these vlogs, you come across as always enjoying being out there playing be it good or bad. 👍
Onwards to the next vlog
Cheers Andrew, I've been playing loads this summer and it is starting to pay dividends 👍👍👍
Great video as usual.
Shot Of The Day - The chip over the bunker on 13
👍
Cheers mate, that one could have gone wrong in so many ways... 👍👍👍
Beautiful location and great weather for a round of golf.
Good score, James and I agree that you definitely left a few shots out there. On another day you'd have holed a few more puts.
Cheers Jon, leaving a few out there is more motivation for next time... 👍👍👍
Another great vlog - chip over the bunker on the 13th was incredible, that is a shot i would make a mess of every single time. Without doubt
Cheers mate, I was happy with a bogey in the end on that one!
Well played James. Keep grinding
Cheers Liam, will do. I'm still playing 3 times a week and loving it! 👍👍👍
Beautiful afternoon on the course, well played today James.
An extremely 'Happy Day'; well done James.
Enjoyed that 👌. I was a member at Maesdu when i lived up in N Wales. Course looks lovely. Miss that part of the world!
Cheers Steve, it was a pleasure to play at Maesdu again. It's a great layout and there was definitely fire in the fairways this day! 👍👍👍
Always good to see someone with similar handicap grinding away. Bad luck with those triples.
Triple are always bad, but the hard part is playing the following hole semi decently... 👍👍👍
Hi James, this was a very good round .Despite a few wobbles you played slightly under your handicap which is always nice.Driving and putting pretty consistent.Maesdu looks to be a beautiful course in a stunning location.Very enjoyable video.Well done again .
Cheers Will, I was very happy with the score at the end of the day and it was also a new PB 👍👍👍
Love the video. Keep it up, you get better every time I watch you!
Cheers Bruce, hope it continues! 👍👍👍
Looked like a lot of fun! Thanks for the great video!
Well played James, No drama mate lol Great looking course.
Great video buddy. 👍🏻
i love the chilled golf well played mate
Another breathtaking course. A piece of land like that where I live would end up 1000 ridiculously priced mansions. Also another great round as well. Congratulations. Nice club twirl too.
Good effort man. Solid scoring. You are a very consistent ball striker. Your swing is short simple and repeatable I reckon you can get to single figures
Well done James a good round
Lovely day for it James! 😎 and another lovely course on the coast 👌
Cheers Bobby, always enjoy my rounds at Maesdu GC 👍👍👍
Lovely stuff James. Such an easy watch 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Cheers man, thanks for watching 👍👍👍
*Great bunker save! Seems pretty good drives*
Great round once again-wonderful attitude, great swing and different but great driving and distance. Youre actually better than your handicap and if you played error free, youd be under 80 easily. Such advancement in a short time, well done
Cheers Oliver, playing 3 times a week sharpens up the game so much... 👍👍👍
Love watching you vids fella 👍
Great finish James!
Lovely course played it in August
Another great video and a good round. Not played Maesdu since the changes but its a nice course. However for that price would rather play its adjacent neighbour the North Wales club.

It went down a treat 👍👍👍
Well played!

Cheers Lee, hope you get back to Nefyn one day. You won't regret it! 👍👍👍
Great round. Just about kept you head after the triples!
Well played James 👏👏
👍👍👍
That pitch over the bunker on 13 was nice. I thought you might choke after some of the bunker play as of late.
Never in doubt 😉
The putter was on fire on the back 9 👍👍👍
you look like you enjoyed that drink at the end! Well deserved mate
9 pars James not bad at all mate loved NWGC in September brilliant Maes Du is next

Some putting... what app do you use for ball tracking?
Beautiful day !
I got sunburnt this day in September lol :)
Very nice video. Well done. The course is in a beautiful location. Was it filmed a few weeks ago because we have had a lot of rain down here recently.
0:18 I put up the info it was 17th Sept 👍👍👍

I'll definitely take it 👍👍👍
Great course, great video and outstanding golf!!...Congratulations and please keep these fine videos coming!!!...
Cheers Andrew, will do! 👍👍👍
Nice one on hitting your target. I’m sure some of them greens made the ball snake as it went towards the hole costing you a shot or 2
Gorgeous course. Not sure I’d call that drive on the 8th a snap hook, not according to Shottracer anyway. Went left, but looked frozen rope straight.
agreed...
It went a bit left plus a 4 ball was on the hole adjacent so I really held my breath. Turns out there was loads of room... :)
Cheers!
👍👍👍

It was off a downslope on the first so a bladed chip would have been a disaster!
LIV Tour next James!
Nice round James. If you don't mind my asking.....i am curious what camera and gear setup you use? The quality of the video and sound is very good!
Iphone 11 pro (std model) with one of the cheaper Rode mics filmed in 60 fps 1080p. I tried using the 15 pro but I need to get a new mic plus the footage looks weird and bleached out. I will figure it out soon enough... 👍👍👍
Looking like Ian Woosnam out there!
Looks a nice course, £52 though,wow 😮
It's a very popular course with many members. It's £80 for visitors to play on Saturdays. The green fees are much cheaper from Nov - Mar.
Wales has some beautiful courses, look dry as well. Unlike here in Yorkshire.
Really poor year weatherwise in this part of the world.
It doesn't rain that much here considering the Snowdonia mountain range is only 20 miles away as the crow flies...
I see over the past couple of years, you've changed putters a few times. Do you think the Ben Sayers is a keeper? Many thanks, Ken.
It's 33 inches and seems to suit my stroke better than other putters. I will probably continue to chop and change in the future though searching for that elusive 'perfect putter.' :)
What a stunning day and course. Never heard of the term "Mayors office". What does it mean? Greg M New Zealand.
From the internet: Golf Terminology
Mayor's Office - straight, all the way down at the end of the hall. Said when someone bombs one long and straight. “Wow. Nice drive. That's in the Mayor's office.”
I don't think your score really reflected how well you actually played.
Cheers Steven, yeah I gave away shots on the first 2 holes nevermind the blowup ones. A 79 could have been carded but there's always next time... 👍👍👍
Let's go!!
Crack open a beer and run VT!!
Have you changed your putter
I have used this one all summer. It's a cheap Ben Sayers one, 33 inch and is battered but I can start the ball on the intended line... 👍👍👍
Well done, need to try it again with sandwiches!
Always too many things to remember with golf. I forgot my shoes once lol 👍👍👍
Which would you rather leave in your car before the round - your sandwich or your sand wedge?
Well played James!
👍👍👍
All things considered we found ourselves in the majors office and we move on.
Real Pebble Beach vibes, You do more to promote Welsh golf than the Welsh government lol
Nobody else is up here is playing and filming all these great courses. I have tons left on the list to play too 👍👍👍
Hello for are putting we bend back and forward with hands try this again bend back your hand and forward easier for the wrist. Elaine
Par-3 for opening hole? Don't see that often.
Yeah, only Anglesey golf course I think has a par 3 to start that I played too... 👍👍👍
@@notaperfectgolfer3489 kOOL. good way to loosen up
Red mist is descending, lol.
I was flying and then the 16th happened... 👍👍👍

Let me know if you fancy a journey to surrey and I’ll get you round my course
How I want to know your secret. Those distantes with half swing. Hard to believe.
It's all about the rollout. My driver usually carries 190-200 yards. As long as the first bounce is on the fairway and is relatively straight then you get the rollout. I even mention it twice in the vid 👍👍👍
