@@bettinahansen7630 That was really one of his very best performances ! And actually it was this perfect performance, that brought him to the attention of the Bond producers and eventually got them to cast him as Goldfinger ! As the murderer of little girls in EGAHT he really was utterly abominable. Ghee, that scene, where he is sitting behind the wheel in his black Buik at the gas station, always cruising around in search of a new victim, and lurks secretly in the rear mirror, preying after the little girl playing behind his car, with such an eerie, swarmy expression on his face makes the viewer just wish he could step into the screen, tear this creepy human monster out of that car and beat him up. That convincing was Fröbe's performance in that classic movie about a very dark, but sadly always timeless subject.
you 'll notice the back seat of the Rolls-Royce Phantom III is located further back from the side window Hence as Goldfinger reclines after writing Bond the check, you cannot see him,
Until the late 90's, the Phantom III was the only model of the marque to be powered by a V12. By recognizing it as a 1937 model, Bond either deliberately or inadvertently made Goldfinger realize that he (Bond) knew more about that specific car's history than a "regular" car expert possibly could.
Crushing a golf ball by hand is absurd, as Connery himself complained while on the set. Decapitating a statue with a metal-brimmed hat might be possible, depending on what the statue is made of.
Gert Fröbe surely was one of the greatest German character actors of the second half of the 20th. century. Being immensely versatile ( apart from playing the romantic lead of course, he certainly hadn't the good looks for it) he was equally as capable in playing convincingly a megalomanic baddie like Goldfinger as in playing light-hearted comedy, like his Baron Bomburst in 'Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang'.

Brown birds-eye tweed jacket, brown tie, brown Cavalry twill trousers, brown suede brogues. How cool has changed!
I think Bond was reminded of his own balls when Oddjob crushed the golf ball. Thats why he did that little jig. Excellent acting by Connery.
Goldfinger isn't a very gracious loser.

Not many people are
Every loss was a blow to his ego. He was the most insecure Bond villain.

he was hidden behind the car's rear roof pillar
