Been a musician all my life, heard this a million times in the movies, TV, etc. But to hear this played by these disciplined Brits gives me goosebumps no matter how many times I watch it. Amazing performance. There are so many details in this song. I never really appreciated John Barry for his work. And of course the vocals could only be pulled off by the amazing Shirley Bassey. I can watch this 1000 times and it still moves me.
The orchestra immediately stand and turn to her for the inevitable ovation. Genuine respect and admiration from professional musicians. This isn't a good performance for a veteran, its a performance very few women of any age, anywhere in the world, could match.
