I've installed several different kinds of filter systems on tons of tanks from canisters to sumps, the one thing I will add for someone who has never done it is to either use a hair dryer to soften the hose or soak the hoses in the bath tub with warm to hot water for about ten minutes. It helps make the hose slip on the fittings easier and also helps make the hose straighten easier. Very informative video, especially if a person has never set up a filter system on a drilled tank.
Thanks for your input and the best side effect of your advice I have noticed that after the connection is made as it is cooling down the hose will have more of a shrink fitting than the standard way . The best way for any connection when dealing with H2O is to get everything done right , and as far as the products are going to needed for me i will always start with a brand new adhesive
These tips have been a lifesaver. My old 250-gallon tank started spilling water and I had to replace the piping. This Aqueon looks very different from what I had on the tank. After losing fish and fighting this battle and finally getting the overflow kit from the store I was lost on installation. My Aqueon looked way too short. This video showed me how to adjust and complete everything else in good order. Thanks for this instructional video!
If you have a big enough pump, you can put a Y fitting in and run your plumbing to both. Don't use a T - water will take the path of least resistance so more water will go one way. A Y will keep them equal-ish

How do you stop the gurgling?
My drain line just woke me up at 4am leaking with a hose clamp on it. Both sides are starting to wheep salt

So if there are 2 overflows which means 2 returns how do you go about sending water back to each of the returns.
