    Awesome, Ive been training my rear uppercut for years... I've always wondered why it didn't feel 100 percent " right ". That slight loop is what it needed! Thanks Coach!

    I kinda feel like initiating wrestling from a clinch like a lotta judokas do is easier that most ppl think and is underutilized. At 0:53 for example when you were demonstrating how u can keep someone way from crashing in with a high guard, he easily could’ve walked forward while blocking the straight punches to smother the range. More effective ways to close distance into a clinch is to trap hands, parry the punches, or use head movement. I hate the fact that ppl immediately think of shooting when wrestling is brought up, bc a wrestler’s takedown arsenal is a lot more diverse than that

      I disagree. It is possible to hand fight into clinches but it is way riskier than shooting and coming up. That’s why you see great grapplers like Khabib and Makhachev go to the legs to get to the body and not just pressure forward through punches to clinch.

      How many times have you tried this in an actual fight against a trained fighter?

    • @coachkajan
      @coachkajan  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@wut3358 likely more times than you. I have around 40 pro fights.

      @@coachkajan to be fair even if you prefer upper body takedowns like Rounda Rousey did as u mentioned you can still shoot as a way to close the range. Khamzat Chimeav a lotta times will shoot for a double leg and then posture up into double underhooks, or try to cut the corner for a duck under/back take. I agree with you that shooting is prolly the most basic and reliable method of initiating wresting, I just feel like aganist ppl with good defense it could be worth it to mix up different methods rather than do the same thing over and over again.

      @@wut3358 I haven’t bc I don’t compete, but I’m walking into a clinch. Mostly aganist an opponent backed up aganist cage, you will see UFC fighters smother straight into a clinch all the time (Example: Usman Vs Masvidal)
