- Honest Review of the Razer Wolverine v2 Chroma Xbox Controllers, one the best Xbox controllers under $200. I give my honest review on this Xbox controller and talk about all the features like deadzone control, LEDs, remappable buttons, and extended thumbsticks. All the cool things that are included with a high-end gaming controller. Razer makes a lot of cool gaming peripherals, and this one is one of the most excellent Razer products I have seen. If you're a serious gamer looking for some good gear, Razer is typically my go-to choice.
I like to play call of duty warzone, modern warfare, rocket league, and even some fall guys. I also only play racing games on the controller as well.

If you want to the quick summary....
I like this controller, but it's TOO WIDE and TOO UNCORMTABLE for me at least. It doesn't resemble the standard Xbox controller enough.
I love the standard Xbox controller's ergonomics. The elite cost more, and it seems lower quality than this controller, Razer Wolervine v2 Chroma.
Also, the Chroma has more buttons and better LED's vs standard wolverine v2.

Hello, nice video :) I've a question about software, when you say "you can assign the buttons".. is it possible to assign the buttons any keyboard key or its only possible to assign the YBAX buttons?
They give you a selection of key binds to choose from.
I've been looking everywhere and this is the one reason why I haven't picked it up and that's the polling rate. Is it a standard 124hz or is it 250hz like the gambit. Cheers

Seems like they've fixed the problem if the triggers being too shap since the wildcat, I had to file the plastic down cause it was hurting
Dude i am between this and the turtle beach recon controller (but cloud version cause i could really use that phone grip), and you have both videos, is just an insane coincidence, would you tell me now that you had them for over a year which one would you recommend me to buy.
i am mostly using it for SP games, rdr2, uncharted, stuff like that
wolverine is around 80 dollars and the turtle beach 65 dollars.

Nowadays I really only use my turtle beach controller and I play rocket league with it. I gave the razor one to my close friend for Christmas and it started having some serious stick drift 8 months later then after an update it wouldn’t connect to the Xbox one anymore.
Turtle beach is definitely a cheaper product but if your easy on controllers it should be a pretty good choice.
So, you think the thumb sticks don’t have enough resistance? I want to get this for rocket league, and I’m curious if the control-freeks rings will really help.
Yeah I think it work great for that, you a can get variety pack and so you can find out which stiffness is the best for you
I like the kontrolfreek rings.
Just got this today along with all the other controllers out there. Stick on these are SOOO LOUD. Even with my open back headphones on they’re still obnoxiously noisy. Total dealbreaker
Yeah they’re loud, you could put a little strip of black electrical tape around the stick base. That might help a little bit
I could buy this controller for $90 at best buy plus a 2yr protection plan for $25. Do you think this is a good deal? I have large hands and love mechanical features, but I'm still not sure. Love the content, thanks
Sorry so late to this, yes that seems like a great deal. Protection plans are usually hit or miss but if it’s offered from Best Buy it should be pretty good.
@@TechTipsforBoomers np man, i've been using it for a couple weeks now and it feels great, biggest complaint is that the back buttons are a little weird to hold but it's not that bad :) worth $90 fs
I put many miles on mine, got it on sale for $115. Great controller, but it kinda wore out quicker than I’d like. Got the gambit now and it blows this out of the water.
Yeah this one wore out recently. Lasted about a year.
How so? How do they compare in terms of ergonomics?
@@Wolf-SS I liked it, very comfortable. I’m also a heavy gamer and play almost everyday for at least 2-3 hours haha so it definitely went through it’s paces. Loved the dome top stick it came with.
Bro maybe you can help me. I got this controller today and I play fight night champion and use the right analog stick to throw punches. But with this controller it doubles the punches. Like it double taps the sensor. Any fix for this?

Thanks for the video, it is much appreciated. If I may comment on something I would say that 1 year warranty is a minus, not a pro. Companies have to offer some kind of warranty by law, and if they believe in the quality of their products usually they extend their warranty quite a bit above the minimum law requirement. Now 1 year warranty does not sound to me like a product they really believe in?

It came with control freak type cushions in the box and that helps. But I'm not a fan so far.

Returned the controller. Has baked in deadzones. Very hard to make precise movements.
In the software you can reduce the deadzones a lot. I thought if you go to level 1 it it’s very responsive

@@TechTipsforBoomers thank you so much for the video. My friend who moved had this controller so I got to try it once. For me, the back buttons are perfect. I know some find it weird lol. I prefer it to regular paddles it’s more comfortable for me. Also I think the thumbstick doesn’t really suck IMO
I’ve a question tho. I use inferno Kontrol Freeks. Do you think it will fit in here? I hear razer Wolverine controllers never allow Kontrol freeks fit in. This is crucial for me because I can’t play without KFs. Will it fit in ? Which KF fits this v2 chroma ? Would really appreciate a response. Again thank you for this video. Big help

Do you have to set this up with a pc or laptop or can remap it and all that in the Xbox itself
You can do it all on xbox
So the ABXY are mouse click but the triggers are not?

The top back button are faulty besides that everything about the controller is nice had it for about 2 months and the buttons started wigging smh

@@TechTipsforBoomers no I found it. I was so fixated on downloading the app from my phone like with my wireless controllers I totally forgot that this controller is wired and I gotta do it from the XBOX itself lol.

None that I have found but I’m sure there is a 3rd party device like a wireless usb that could work

Not sure, I like the build quality of the controller overall but it does have its problems… 🤔

This controller is awful. The latest update bricked the controller and it doesn’t work even when using the pc firmware update

Thanks for the heads up, I’m sure razer will come out with an updated with bug fixed. They offer the controller on their website so I doubt they will abandon it.
