Maridia (Sandy Desert) Super Metroid - Guitar Cover

- Back to Super Metroid! While picking out songs for this year's Spooktober, I came across Maridia (Sandy Desert) from Super Metroid and I felt like it was a perfect fit! While most of the music in the game can be considered ominous or creepy, this one was the easiest to convert to guitar since it's way more notey than some of them if that makes sense. I wasn't sure if I wanted to approach this in the same way that I did with Brinstar (The Jungle Floor) where I don't bust out the rhythm guitar and just keep it chill but that ending riff in the original just called for a heavier approach! I'm happy with how this one turned out and I hope you'll enjoy my Guitar Cover of Maridia (Sandy Desert) from Super Metroid!

This definitely sounds spooky. A really unique choice for the spooky month and it's always great to see some love for Super Metroid. Keep on rocking man!
@@Consolous Thanks man!
yessss when the shredding started at around 3:00, so satisfying! love the syncopated chords!
@@AnimalisaKeys Haha yeah I loved that part! Glad you liked it!!
You got the spooky ominous tone perfect! Great job! Both Maridia themes are among Metroid's most underappreciated music.
@@jimazo Glad to hear that, thanks! Yeah, at least this one has grown on me!
My favorite area of Super Metroid 🎉
@@COIFISHGAMING Haha that's great! I honestly don't even know what my favorite area is lol.
@@LloydTheHammerperhaps it could be brinstar or norfair? both of em are good in their own ways albeit in norfair one has to deal with the fact that until one defeats kraid it's gonna be tough exploring norfair since many of the early areas of norfair tend to be super heated and thus require the varia suit gotten from kraids defeat if one doesn't wanna take a ton of damage in norfair, brinstar has it's downs and ups too, sporespawn is in brinstar which is down since he is quiet tough if you get overwhelmed but it's also a up because if you beat sporespawn you can get the first super missile tank without any fancy tricks.
@@Cave_Enemigo Those are all good points! I thought about it and I'd say my favorite area is Lower Norfair because of the epic song and the fact that you get the screw attack over there plus you fight Ridley!
@@LloydTheHammer quiet logical that, after all, the screw attack or as i tend to call it (the demolition spin) is quiet powerful however, you don't only get screw attack after ridley's defeat, you also see the case the metroid hatchling was in and that case is completely broken implying two things, 1 ridley killed the hatchling which was in the case, or 2 the hatchling somehow broke out of the case that it was in and escaped to tourian where it has grown insanely huge and nearly kills samus but stops as soon as it hears the damage alarm from samus's suit.
@@Cave_Enemigo Hahaha the Demolition Spin, that is great! Yep, all true!
More Super Metroid! Awesome!
Ambiance in that game is so good, and I think it lines up so well with your musical style. You always do an excellent job with it!
@@AllClutteredUp Thank you!! Yeah, they totally nailed the ambience!
This came out really good! I really like hearing some of the “lesser known” songs being covered from Super Metroid. The whole soundtrack is next level. Thanks for doing this one !
@@MTVGMSynthCovers Thank you! Yeah this whole soundtrack is amazing. No problem!
Dude, that drop at 3:05 is nasty! This has always been one of my favorites from SM, super great rendition of an underappreciated track. Thanks for your artistry and for sharing! :D
@@fryl0ck33 Haha thanks! It's a pretty underrated song and it has grown on me now that I've played it! No problem and thanks for watching!
You knew this one would draw me in. ; ) Grats on the five years, bro!
@@BranceCrantly Haha I know you like the Super Metroid stuff! Thanks, I really appreciate it!
Such an anxious melody which really builds up to something. like youre being followed the entire time. Great work!
@@PragmatikReviews Haha would work even better in games like Metroid Fusion with the SA-X! Thanks man!
Man I remember playing the game back in the day while hearing this tune, it felt so atmoshperic and creepy! So this was a great pick for spooky month indeed, I never realised how hard it could go either so great job with the arrangement haha, this was really dope!
@@TheYuke It's a pretty scary game yeah! Thanks Yuke and glad you liked it!
Always really loved the Maridia music! I especially like the Rocky Underwater one but it's good to see this one get some attention for once haha. Really like how heavy it gets towards the end and your clean tones were perfect for the spooky vibe!
@@TripleBMusic I started appreciating it more after playing it! Glad you liked it!
Love the riffs at the 3:00 mark. Heavy asf!
@@NivanSharma Yeah man, I loved that part as well! Glad you liked it man!
3:03 I know it's not the same but it reminds me For Whom The Bell Tolls 😁 Well played! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@@retrodrummer Haha yeah I can totally see that! Thanks man!

@@almeidachannel7121 Thank you and also for the sub, I really appreciate it!! Metroid music will forever be awesome :)
Maridia if it were a beach instead of underwater
@@chaosmiles07 Pretty much yeah haha.
@@LloydTheHammermaybe even maridia if it had some "teehee valley" and "battle for storm hill" vibes in it's very ambient song
@@Cave_Enemigo Haha yeah!
