Hi Matt, super project. Imagine having a couple of these hulls made in polycarbonate casting and then building them up for the market. Nothing fancy, just basic boat, which is affordable and fun to use. I would take two hulls myself.🤑
Glad you are looking to rebuild her! I just scrapped one of those Aristocrafts this fall- but it's more fun to see them go back to use then get crunched in the landfill! +1 sub towards your magical 1k that we all are working towards :)
My uncle had one and my cousin and I spent a lot of time waterskiing (Lake Guntersville, AL) behind it when we were kids. I always thought it was a nice looking boat.
Don't know who you are or where, but thank you for posting this. When I was a kid, we acquired an Aristocraft that was abandoned next to an equally abandoned barn in western Iowa. I remember us helping my dad restore it. Many hundreds of wonderful hours fishing out of it and skiing behind it at the cabin in MN. He passed away at 87 on Labor Day. Wish I'd seen your videos sooner; he would've gotten a kick out of them.
Very cool boat, i have a similar boat from 1959 built in Sweden by Ockelbo, first boat they made, i cut up a Sea-Doo and took the lower part of the hull with engine and water-jet and cut a big hole in my boat and lots of fiberglass, now its good for 45 knots! Good luck to you with the restoration of your boat! I have my boat on my youtube.
Matt … Just stumbled onto your channel and subscribed. Will view past videos as time permits. I can’t wait to see your restoration of this boat. Just the cleanup alone makes it look 100% better!!! God bless and Merry Christmas!!! Chuck Knight from Atascocita (Houston), Texas. ✝️🎣👨🌾🦌🙏

Sure has that 60’s vibe going on. Going to look great when it’s restored.
Got one just like it in my back yard, seagreen over coral white, waiting to be redone. Built them Atlanta boat works in Atlanta Georgia, only wood was in the transom which is usually rotted out needs to be removed and filled with seacast, stringers are fiberglass , virtually unsinkable. Back in productionand doing restoration in Dawsonville GA
Not the highest…but a high end boat of its day. The Aristo-Craft’s optional (and removable) hardtop gave it lots of panache…like the Century Coronado…but an outboard and much less expensive. We had a ‘63 Cruisers, Inc., sea green hull with matching canvas. What I would give….
A colour match in 2 pack would be very nice and not hard to paint at home, that is one classy boat with great quility fittings, look great behind a jeep wagoneer!
Very cool looking old boat The only problem is before long you will have put more money into it that’s it’s actually worth. Don’t get me wrong, I love the look of it and appreciate what you are trying to achieve. But the sad fact is that boat as the same with all boats are in the end just money pits!! BOAT = Break Out Another Thousand
Hello friends, I’m new to boating, just picked up my first boat. What’s your opinion about wrapping a boat…wrapping part of this boat might be an idea as well..great purchase!
@@ChicagoItalian I personally stay away from wrapping boats due to the durability factor. Gel-coat or a good topside paint are usually what I use. Rustoleum makes a good cheap topside paint that you can roll on.
@@islandmatt3858 Hi islandmatt3858 - I’ve only wrapped a few pieces on the outside. I will buff out the rest of the gel coat with wax to make it very clean looking….but agree with you.
A great looking boat, to save any problems later I'd check the keel with a string line or laser to make sure its fairly straight if it bows up in the middle it will drive terribly wanting to porpoise up and down getting worse with more speed applied Sitting on as trailer for years the trailer rollers get out of alignment, boat gets water in it, weight pushes it down, after time the fibreglass remembers that shape Supports, ribs and underfloor bulkheads in sixties boats generally wasn't that great, still new tech then I guess Easy way to find out is to strap a tiller steer OB on and test drive her It can be a hard problem to solve Sorry didn't want to rain on your parade, wishing someone had told me earlier I hope its good though, the crap designed boats of today really make one like this stand tall at the boat ramp Good Luck with her

This is a really cool old boat. Some unique features and a ton of potential! 🇨🇦

Cool boats. I worked in their factory the summer of '66.
@@edgriffin7374 This is my fourth Aristo Craft, would love to hear if you have any cool history/facts about these boats
@islandmatt3858 great fishing boats. Not hard to make an enclosed cabin on them. I found with a 40 to 50 horse , they do well.
These were fine boats in their day, used to see them on the lake down here in Alabama when I was about 9-10 years old,I’m 62.
Good luck.
Definitely brings back memories from that time period. Great project boat
I love the lines on this boat...it is so cool. Looks like a great project for ya.
Simply awesome! We can relate to the love and commitment-it’s inspiring.
That boat deserves a tower of power.

Can’t wait to see more!!! Great project!
Hope to see the restoration. Love these older boats.
This thing is going to be fantastic. Subscribed.
Two of the happiest days of a boat owner life is the day he buys it and the day he sells it. Not necessarily in that order.
Negative.
Definitely want to see videos as your doing the restoration
Going to be a fun project. That steering wheel cleaned up nice.

Looks like a lot of work required to get her ship shape & Bristol fashion. Hope it all goes to plan.
Sweet Matt. It’ll be fun in the bay!
Como le va amigo, exelente restauracion!! Muy buen trabajo!! Un saludo cordial desde Buenos Aires Argentina!!
Great design , should look like new when completed

I would like to see this boat back in the waters with a new motor, and a nice joy ride. Then I'll be impressed.
Looking pretty good. Some wax and polish it up it’d look nice! That hard top really makes it look cooler, to me. 😄
Love the design.
Looks like the same windshield as a 1959 or 60 Chevy, Pontiac, Caddy etc!

At one time, this Still a nice looking project..
Had an inboard outboard version back in the 80s. Mercruser. 6 cyl. Was a pretty good boat.
Best wishes getting her fit.

Need to dress as Elvis for the first water trip 😂😂 I would love to have it
Recycling at its best 😊 Giddyupgo and be safe about it.
COOL BOAT!!
I had one of these with the optional side windows was great for if you got caught out in bad weather.
Стиль 60 годов- просто чудо.

Hi awesome boat if the hull and transom are solid. I would be interested in buying. Thank you John
Check the transom where the engine bolts on make sure the wood under the fiberglass isn't rotted
Perfect for a jet ski engine conversion.
Cool as Boat Bro. I have a caravan of the same year.. They made such cool stuff back then eh ?

Usually, the Transoms are rotted out.
Matt, I hope you got some new Adidas after that clean up.😂 Good luck with the resto, could be a great looking craft when you're done.
Excelente proyecto
love it !
Should be called. "Washing a old boat"
I used to love getting in boats like this with a cooler of beer and some good friends and just shoot the sh!t with one another !
The Bat Boat.
If it were my boat I'd be tempted to make it into the Bat Boat.
Looks like a modified Manx VW Beach Buggy hardtop.
What are you going to do with it ?
How much for the Trans Am mud flaps?
Like something out of a t.v show
I like bigger fins.
Old boat like old cars to me had better styling.
Sell?
I plan on using it after I finish the restoration but might sell eventually
A little liquid soap would have helped
Invest in a nice life raft
The lines! Sooo sexy!
You should be talking in your videos,,,
This thing is begging for a 300 Merc
Oh, somebody has ED.
