    One word, SPLENDID!
I have followed multiple tutorials found from Google and TH-cam. This was the one for me. No hard-to-figure terminal commands, like, what should I type in this my particular case etc.. Very well explained steps and pleasant voice to listen.
PS. Got inspiration to customize my terminal window thanks to you. Looks much more "pro" now.. :D
    Thank you, Sir!

This tutorial works, but let me share some information that I learned trying to get to the point that it would work
    - The mac that you are creating this drive with has to be running High Sierra or newer. Mine ran Mavericks, and wasn't able to download the High Sierra installation files without being updated first.
    - The .dmg file Apple gives you won't work. You have to get the High Sierra installation media through the App Store.
    - You need to format the USB drive in Disk Management before you make the bootable USB. Otherwise you'll get errors erasing the drive.
At least, that's what I went through. Glad to finally have it done.

I have been working for 8 hours+ and someone in the internet said the new installer was missing files. So I copied from an old installer (4.9GB) to the new installer (5.01). Try installing both of them maybe install the old one first and then rename it, then install the new one, Go to applications folder right click "show package contents" open "Contents" of old installer, copy files. Do the same with new installer but instead of copying you paste and override the files. Then run your script in terminal.
      sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Volume --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app
(Volume is the name of my external hard drive or could be your flash drive)

This video is AWESOME! It saved me a ton of headaches after trying for days to figure out why Mac OS X Mojave had broken my network. Apple really screwed the pooch with Mojave's bugs and removing access to revert to High Sierra from the app store. They're turning into Microsoft more and more day-by-day. I am becoming increasingly disillusioned with the once mighty Mac and Apple tech. I'll NEVER upgrade my OS X again until I know it is actually a proven, fully functioning system. Here's the simple straightforward way: Download High Sierra and hit Command Q to stop installation and it will be in Applications. If you have already installed High Sierra the 2nd time that you download it this will just sit in Applications ready for use as, as soon as you load the OSX on your computer it uses the install files. The install will then be available in Applications so, now download Install Disk Creator www.macupdate.com/a... (it's free). Then put a memory stick (minimum of 16gb) into USB slot in Mac, open Install Disk Creator and select the USB drive and then Select the High Sierra install , click on "Create Installer" and it sorts the rest out for you even deleting whatever is on the USB stick and re-formatting if necessary and labelling USB drive name. After 4 or 5 minutes the bootable drive is ready and tells you so. Do not waste time on Apple's long-winded ways of doing things unless you have a lot of time on your hands and have nothing better to do.

I tried this but it also says “Install macOS Sierra" cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified..cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified.
Is there any way around this?

Wow this works great. The only difficulty I had was the right click didn’t bring up the menu. I found the menu by clicking on the icon is on the top the screen. Then I was able to pick the correct folders. Thank you very much for this tutorial.

Tip: you can partition your flash drive after you do this and save some install-related files.
Worked pretty much the same for me in Mojave for a Catalina installer. Gave a small error and still worked.
