Retired electrician: With California & other outlawing natural gas in new homes then 15 years later outlaws g natural gas in all houses. This could cost a homeowner well over $40,000 to replace gas heaters with expensive to operate electric heat, electric cooking dryers & water heaters and if they have 2 EV cars might need a 300 amp electric service. Of course lazy foot dragging utility companies will never have the needed new distribution. Lines, new power stations s, or even at thus time tens of thousands if hard to get pole transformers. A lot if EV will need a trailer hitch by then to haul a trailer with a large generator to charge them during numerous winter rolling black outs.
On one hand, they are trying to mandate everything to be electric. The next minute they tell us to expect massive solar flares and possible EMPs . Which will destroy all electronics. So that they will have an excuse when everything gets turned off.
If you did that the CO2 emissions would decrease by a measly 6% and that is if every car in the world was an EV on 70%of the energy used to charge them is coal and gas powered anyway so there is no point in doing it
EVs aren't no good in the winter, to hell with electric cars they are no good at all . Batteries are high cost no one can afford, plus where are they going to store all the used batteries? Hybrid cars are the way to go, not electric.
An all-electric future could never happen. Electric vehicles died out 100 years ago because they were not practical or viable and not enough people wanted them. They will die out again today for the same reasons. History truly does repeat itself

EV's will be affordable and safer because of Elon musk's new graphine aluminum batteries that don't burn will increase,but Elon musk is a libertarian and believes in individual freedom!! I hope not. Electricity would be severely rationed, for starters. Freedom to travel greatly limited. Fossil fuels needed to create the electricity, of course, where most of the source energy is lost to heat and CO2 before it leaves the plant, just to produce the electricity.
