This isn’t increasing your moment arm, the only way you could do that would be increasing the length of the club. Widening your stance doesn’t change any of your levers. The only reason it could potentially help is allowing greater lateral shift but that isn’t to do with the moment.
According to Dr Kwon, it is possible to change the moment arm in the golf swing. He has done a series of videos on golf biomechanics. Here's the first part. th-cam.com/video/kiPZKFyCFuo/w-d-xo.html
@@paulwilliams5572 yeah as a function of center of pressure not stance width. Acting like the driver of the moment is stance width and not weight distribution is just incorrect. The comment I made was assuming the only independent variable in your swing was the stance width.
This is Info from Steve Gould who I personally know very well, who introduced force plates to the golf coaching scene. Got to love TH-cam comments section 😂
That's all grand, but the moment arm is between your chest and the head of the club, not the length between your leg. Wide stance may improve your stability and allow you to swing faster, but where is specifically the leverage advantage coming from from widening your stance? Doesn't affect how you apply force laterall or vertically, just how stable you are applying those forces
Trying to understand this video took maximum effort 😂

Ah ok. I am very simple man and there is a reason why I play off 18 and you don't 😂

Correct, just a lot of waffle

_takes another puff_
Whoa, so, like the vertical force of the universe is winding me straight into this couch.
Trouble with a wider stance is that it’s harder to turn your hips
Was thinking the same thing, especially as a very amateur golfer 😂
The wider my feet at setup the more I struggle to hip turn correctly

@@dummy999 well said. James really got this one wrong
Cliff notes: Try a wider stance
James, you should ask Rick Shiels what he thinks 😂😂😂
If i go too wide i cant turn my hips and just top it. I am 53 tho
Look forward to seeing you on the DP Tour 👍🏻
I understood the "bigger hammer" part. So, do you have a "bigger driver"?
slowing your backswing does the same widening stance increases the chance of hitting the ground in my opinion 😂
This is false. Widening your stance is to help you over rotate. If you are restricted on motion, this will do very little. Just saying

@JamesWiltshire a stance too wide will slow your hip speed down, otherwise you'd see golfers doing the splits by your logic 🤔
Makes zero sense
