i'm loving my Curado BFS, it's kind of perfect for most of the stuff i target in Australia. time will tell how well it handles saltwater but i am taking care of it between sessions. currently running on 10lb braid with a 2-4kg Shimano T-Curve. it casts a 1/12oz jighead with a small plastic pretty damn good and absolutely sends a 1/8oz lure
It's a great reel. I got two shallower and lighter spools for lighter casting. I think I will buy the slx bfs... The same reel essentially while the price is low due to currency exchange rates
I have one of the first Dobyns 700C BFS rods.. Totally love it ! I have it paired with a Daiwa Pixy68 SPR and 6# yo zuri throwing a 1/10th ned with zero issues. I'll never use spinning gear again. 😃
I throw everybait made lol. but they have been loving the berkley lugworm neko rigged and gold/black swimbaits. Craw type baits texas rigged have been doing the best.
thx man! I traded it for a few casts :P lol i don't use that lure and i have a few too, so might as well give it to the kiddo. he will learn how to use it one day :)
Nice video. I broke the tip of my Dobyns 7'4 down to the 2nd guide and i like it better. Id say my custom 7'2 Dobyns Ult. Finesse rod is a true light action rod perfect for bass. lol
Nabbed it when during the launch sale lol... probably the smoothest I have used. Casts nicely. Let me do a few more trips before I access. I want to have at least 3 or 4 trips without cutting much line off to access durability
Not sure who will come out with the first spool. We are all awaiting for it! Roro might be the first. Word on the grape vine that they were interested in producing one.
Sweet! Well the VE rod isn't accurate. It's says it's UL, but it seems a bit thick. I think u would have to choose based on your fishing style and preference for lures. That's how one should make decisions on their setup.
raWr Fishing I’m an avid fisherman but I’m new to bfs. I have plenty of rods and reels for different styles of fishing but for my new reel I’m looking for a rod that can take full advantage of bfs. I’m just not sure what rod to get that will suit the reel.
well this reel isn't the top line reel, so definitely a valid question! I feel this reel, even with upgrade, it can go down to probably 2 grams and perform pretty good on 2 lb test line. however, 2 lb test line is just too thin and can get into the reel your best bet is going with 4lb test minimum and then throw 2.5 grams and up. that said, either rods can work. But i'd suggest L, like tsurinoya dragon rod if you plan on doing 3 grams and up :)
I've been using 10 pound braid (which is 2lb test mono equivalent) works excellently. The 2lb mono does get behind the spool like Rawr said. I don't know grams off the top of my head but I can cast 32nd oz jigs just fine
It happens unfortunately. I would report their license plate to game warden and tell them where they were fishing. They normally will come back for more
@@rawrfishing main spot if fish for them is corson’s inlet the inlet and mainly the bridge and right now if you were to go if u see a baby turtle on the sand take it to back bay all I have seen them caught on so far is gulp
Strong video ! Glad our using Shimano and Dobyns gear !
Thx! I am enjoying the setup so far. Very few complaints
Ned rigs are so much fun man. Really enjoyed this video.
Aye! It's a killer lure

That's what's up Bill!
I love my BFS ive been non stop bass fishing with it. Im going fishing in 2 hours. Thanks for the video

Thx i appreciate it! 👍👍! U bfs fish the ned?
@@rawrfishing Yeah man! 😃 havent made a video Yet ,but have pictures caught different species on it.

The Ned IS the definitive BFS bait IMHO.
Aye! Jika as well

Lol dang but u know it's stiffer now for better hookset lol
Ive caught a couple of pan fish using a 2.5gram jighead and a tiny 4cm crawfish. Are you gonna do a review of that fishing line?
Nice man! The kastpro I assume? I think I responded before on another video about that. Let me fish it a few more times first
How does the leader knot come through those micro guides on the Dobyns? Thanks
Those are super tiny micros. So if your knot is big, not so good. Fg knot is what I use normally, so it's not bad
@@rawrfishing thanks man. I use an FG currently. Thanks for the reply!
U bet man
How do you like that x13 braid? Worth the cost?

Anyone know where i can buy upgrade bearings and 5 gm spool for the curado bfs?

Badass video
Thx i appreciate it! 👍👍
What rod were you using?
The new dobyns bfs rod. Details in the video desc! Or at least it should lol
What is your preferred knot for line to line on BFS?
for this rod.. FG knot! albright is good if one knows how to tie it properly. no need for the "IMPROVED" version
I just purchased the zephyr reel. Would you recommend the zephyr rod or the valiant eagle rod and what length.
