Like the prequels or not you have to admit these people were clearly passionate about their jobs and tried their best to deliver you a film you would enjoy
So did the people making the sequel trilogy, Rian Johnson made that film to be a good film first and a fan service second because as a fan that's what he would want from anyone else. J.J. Abrams wanted Rise of Skywalker to be this really fun movie packed with practical effects and good old school tricks. It's clear that the people who worked on the prequels wanted to make a really cool movie, a cynic would say George just wanted to make a tech demo to sell his post-production businesses.
@@CraigBickerstaff Eh, people seem a lot less passionate when you watch the BTS reels for the sequels. Not nearly on the same level as the people working on the prequels.
Remembering seeing this for the first time in 2003/04 not knowing absolutely what was going on in those last shots compared to being able to tell exactly which shots they were in the film now.
Really hope you're joking. Anyway, the revolutionary thing isn't the shots themselves but the way they can see them both side by side at final quality and while shooting. Edit: Holy shit, didn't realize your comment is 6 years old. If you replied it would make my day.
I don't hate the prequels but I still can see lots of flaws in them. people can have their opinions, but I don't think they need to shout about how bad the 3 are. time, money and effort go into these films but that doesn't mean they are perfect and every one will love them.
@@VKT_RadioStar I too see the flaws in the prequels as well as the sequels and don't love them quite as much as the originals, but I still enjoy watching them though. I always have fun watching either the whole saga in chronological order or just the originals.
I have a issue of Popular Mechanics from December 2001, where it had an article about Top Tech Holiday Gifts for 2001'. In there was a 50 inch or so Panasonic Plasma TV.... $10,999 So basically the video village had about $20k wrapped up in those monitors.( back in 2000 or so). Now George could have 20 UHD 50 inchers around him and watch in Pano-Surrndo-Vision.
George Lucas is an absolute brilliant film maker with an excellent aestetic taste unlike the present sequels that sorely lack the touch of the true Maker aka George Lucas. If only he did not STAR WARS and if only George Lucas made the Sequels instead of the Unholy trinity KK, JJ and Ruin J...
Unfortunately, shooting digitally would later have its disadvantage as they can't fully convert Attack of the Clones or Revenge of the Sith to 4K. Unlike film, digital HD footage is apparently not suitable for a full 4K conversion. The best they can do is upscale. So these second two prequel movies that were meant to revolutionise movie making have ended up as the most handicapped when it comes to restoration with modern technology. Least they went back to film with the sequels and anthology movies like they did with the OT and Phantom Menace (apart from reshoots which were also shot digitally).
that is really wired in one of the shots it shows that in episode 3 the Seniter Organa actually returns fire on the clone troopers at the Jedi temple while crouching behind his speeder.
Owlsplatter 5 years late but Revenge of the Sith has enough footage to be a 5 1/2 to 6 hour long film. A lot was cut to try & get it down to an accessible length.
I think the prequels donkey lick the OT. What's really going on here is people simply age out of these films. The majority didn't hate the prequels. They were just the loudest and most obnoxious.
To be honest, the prequels felt unnecessary. Part of the Great thing about the the OT are the stories, myth and what ur own imagination held. Like the clones wars. I much rather wished Lucas would have done 7 8 and 9 with a then younger original cast. Imo.
All this technology is wonderful, but someone forgot to worry about the story, which is terrible and the actors that are, you know, human beings, and need something to react to in order to give a good performance.... sorry George but the prequels are soulless...
If a blue/green screen prevents actors from doing their job they're not good actors. As natalie Portman said, it's the purest form of acting since you use your imagination
Yea, it's a good movie, but it's a George's movie aka ANH reboot. Prequels are not perfect, but they are much much more revolutionary, creative and inspirational. TFA is better crafted as a blockbuster, but is a safe, unimaginative and in scale much smaller movie than prequels. I prefer experimental movies with flaws than reboots without flaws.
Sciurus...how exactly are these "fantastic" films??? Fucking Jar Jar Binks, HORRIBLE writing/dialogue....clunky/unconvincing acting, Horrible overuse of CGI (not to mention how shitty most of it looks), a stupid, boring story that is rushed through just to get back to mind numbing action. All 3 are horrible films, and were made for 6 year olds
+dhide14 i agree with alot of that except two things. The acting was good it was just awful scripting. A bad script doesnt leave a lot of room for acting. And yes, down to the small details, the story line wasnt great but the broad overarching storyline of palpatine controlling the war and pulling strings left and right for everything to fall into place is fantastic. easily one of the best plots of any movie series. just poorly executed.
Shitty CGI? Bro that was 2003. For back then it was AMAZING CGI. And who cares if it's much CGI or not? It's a futuristic film, how else should they display all that? With weird, laggy and shitty stop-motion movement like the AT-ATs in Episode 5? That's cringe dude The story would have been longer, episode 3 for example 4 hours but they had to cut it down. There were many scenes (like the foundation of a rebellion) which sadly got cut.

like the prequels or not shooting digital HD was a moronic choice.
@@CraigBickerstaff At first, it was a horrible film. At second, prequels used more practical effects and less CG than TFA and TLJ.

IMO Best star wars movie. it's a tragedy and beautifully captured
Awesome Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith Video.

STAR WARS, a village used to make a movie, and finally, this village becomes the greatest set ever, because this is where it happened

does this only comes with the dvd, not with the vcd version? cause i didn't get one
SO BLUE SCREEN IS THE BEST SET THE ART DEPARTMENT COULD MANAGE
saves millions on trying to create that from lumber and paint
Ummm, excuse me but there were plenty of blue screens in the OT. Keying and compositing isn’t new, dummy.

@Jimb0 I didn't know Disney hates the prequels too. But then, all this hatred is why I stay away from the Star Wars fandom and just enjoy the movies.
