I sure as hell hope you are getting paid well off of these youtube tutorials! I literally watch your videos over and over and over trying to learn how to tune my 76 Regal L96/6l90e swap (6.0 Gen4 LS). Thanks to your content, I am feeling over the moon after making constant strides with my car. It is smoother, more powerful and just amazing to drive thanks to you. Keep up the good work. These videos are like a video Bible for tuning.
You clarified something for a newbie like me on accident lol. I was so focused on the info provided by the histogram for timing advance, having just finished VE/MAF tuning, that I was verifying my spark table values against that info rather than the actual instances throughout my log. I wasted a few hours trying to figure out where in the world my timing was being pulled from lol. Thank you for all you do for us, bro.
Thanks Kyle well done again sir. I'd love a "drag session" if possible where we look at launch parameters applicable to timing and misc to give racers the best power upon launch but what also to look at if they are blowing the wheels off. Clearly some of this can be air and car related outside the tune but if we could look at tune specific parameters for 60' 1/8 and 1/4. Just a thought.
I wish this guy was one of my neighbors. Cool vid man. Thanks for the upload! 🤙 Totally subscribing. I find myself watching one of your videos weekly it seems like.
First of all, Thank you for your work and sharing of this information. When adjusting the tables there is a function to "interpolate" the table. I am not sure how/when to use this function. I've seen the changes it makes and the changes appear to be very extreme changes. Should we always "interpolate" the changes to the table or just in certain situations? Thanks again.
Maybe one of the best vids I've seen. Liked how you explained what the tables actually mean. Did you ever do a how to set up a graph and data log for Spark at WOT since data logging and capturing data only at WOT is near impossible. I learned how to set up the rows and columns from you. Haven't seen where you go into detail about filtering but suspect that is the key. Thanks
Filtering can be key, and the cool part is you can play around with it on existing logs, it just manipulates data already captured. So don’t worry about messing anything up when playing with filtering, you can always remove it and see the original data.
@@GoatRopeGarage Thanks...I've been playing w/ it filtering on TPS>2.7v but not getting data expected (still have low Aircharge and RPM values in graph)
I’d like to ask if I could send you my file I have been working up for my 2021 1500 5.7 Rebel that I have full bolt ons , cam and longtubes. I’m new at this and what seems like is going jay and not hurting anything I’d like to have another set of eyes. Hey thanks in advance
Kyle question can you do any video’s on the magnum engines and hemi tuning I have both Im having trouble with a 5.2 magnum I installed a small cam from hughs runs fine cool but when it warms up it drops rpm right at throttle tip in runs fine on through after initial tip in any ideas
Here's a question, I live here in Colorado where 91 is the "93" due to altitude lowering octane requirements... would this throw me into the low octane scale?
On a turbo car, how do you feel about just zeroing out all tables that are adders for the base table. Having a final total timing number can be critical at high boost levels? Would hate to see timing slip in a degree or 2 from an adder
For a race car that makes sense, but for something that's street driven I'd leave a lot of them in place because in most of those situations you're going to want to pull timing to keep from damaging things.
Hey Kyle quick question what plugs do u run I’m wounding if I put a copper core plug in if it may cool off quicker so I can possibly get more ignition. I have a heavy Yukon xl 5.3 LC9 and I get KR with only 11deg any input would be much appreciated thx keep up the great vids u the man -Frank
I will double ck the heat shields and exhaust but I think it’s all tight. it’s kinda a dog off the line I kno it’s heavy but it feel it’s holding back. also in WOT it only lets me have 15 deg (or I get KR) every other ignition table I look at including the stock file has more ignition? I have however been using the sensor 2 bung to read my lambda not sure if that is a problem or not but it’s always given me KR ever since I’ve plugged in To tune
Hey Kyle I have a question that you might have an opinion on. I am going to be installing a cam in the very near future. I have HPT and have already licensed my truck. My question is, would a professional tuner be willing to use my laptop / license to tune my truck? Would I be able to use my HPT and licensing in the future after paying them to tune it if they don’t? Does that make sense?
You would be able to use yours, for sure. A pro might choose not to of they have already paid to unlock a platform, which basically allows them to tune as many of a certain Vehicle as they want.
What would be the cause of knock coming off idle? Like pulling away from a red light or in park/neutral and revving the engine. I've pulled timing again and again but it pulls up to 3 degrees or so every time.
@@GoatRopeGarage I need to get a wideband. I know I should have done that before I started turning but... I will check that. Being it's pretty high mileage engine, do you think rod bearings would register as knock?
@@4BillC I wouldn't think so but if it is high mileage things like engine mounts could be the cause since it's when you're applying torque but you can usually hear that.
rophael lester have you tried the Hp Tuner forum. People are willing to help if you post the log and tune you’re working on. I can help as well if needed.

Where are you getting it?
So at 2k .60 cyl airmass I have only 8deg and even lower at 1200 with -1 any more ignition I add I get KR is this normal?
No, but it sounds like false knock. Make sure your don't have something loose like a heat shield causing it

@@franksotomayor7341 Shouldn't be the issue. That may be all you get on WoT unless you're running 93 octane.

my tuner said that I could use the same code when I paid for my credits on my computer

Check fueling to make sure when you transition from idle that it's not jumping lean.
