@@strxwberry_xx I have a bio exam in two days. This video is one of the many things I am doing to prepare if you want I can let you know if my technique works.
If you’d like to practise the material covered in this video, check out our platform at www.cognitoedu.org - it's totally free, and has been built specifically to make learning and revision easy as possible. The main features are: - Lessons organised by topic, only the lessons relevant to your specific exam board and tier are shown. - Automatic progress tracking. Progress bars tell you at a glance what you’re doing well at, and what you need to spend some time on. - Practise quizzes so you can test your knowledge. You can quiz yourself on any combination of topics you like. - A huge number of fully-hinted questions that take you step-by-step through some of the trickiest calculations & concepts. - A comprehensive bank of past exam papers, organised both by year, and also by topic. Amadeus & Tom
Post-Video Quiz: 1. Name three ways that your skin protects you from pathogens 2. Name two ways your nose protects you from pathogens 3. What does mucus do? 4. How does your stomach kill pathogens? 5. Name 3 functions of white blood cells 6. What is an antigen?
1. the skin acts as a physical barrier, preventing pathogens from entering the skin also secrets an oil called sebum, which kills all pathogens the skin also clots at the site of a wound, because of platelets, to prevent pathogens from entering. 2. the nose has mucus which traps pathogens the nose has hairs which also trap the pathogens and prevent them from entering the body. 3. mucus traps pathogens 4. the stomach secrets HCl which is very acidic and can kill pathogens. 5. white blood cells do phagocytosis, which is the process of attaching to a foreign pathogen and engulfing white blood cells (lymphocytes) also produces antibodies which bind to the antigens, preventing them from producing any more antigens t-cells memorise the shape of the antigen in the pathogen, so that it acts faster the next time the pathogen comes back, preventing them from spreading 6. an antigen is a specific protein that is found on the surface of pathogens (? i think lol) thanks for this !! :D
You’ve missed a small part: - After the primary immune response (the first time the disease enters the body and the lymphocytes produce antibodies to destroy it) the lymphocytes that produced the antibodies for the specific disease will develop into a memory cell so that when the pathogen enters for the second time (secondary immune response) the lymphocytes will produce antibodies much quicker and destroys the pathogens before they can multiply.
For real, i wrote 5 pages of dis on my notebook while i couldve learnt everything i needed to from a video omg dis literally stated everything! EVERYTHING! Oml stupid and even if there wasnt vaccine or passive immunity like who cares dis is d main subject!
Can someone give me a structured paragraph for 6 marker describe how the human body prevents pathogens from entering defends itself against pathogens inside the body

Post-Video Quiz:

2. Name two ways your nose protects you from pathogens
3. What does mucus do?
4. How does your stomach kill pathogens?
5. Name 3 functions of white blood cells
6. What is an antigen?
AHHH THANK YOU SM AGAIN
Damn Matt you ong the best
they only mentioned two ways that your skin protect you. what an absolutely stupid retarded useless awful diabolical shit question
Matt you're a legend
1. the skin acts as a physical barrier, preventing pathogens from entering
the skin also secrets an oil called sebum, which kills all pathogens
the skin also clots at the site of a wound, because of platelets, to prevent pathogens from entering.
2. the nose has mucus which traps pathogens
the nose has hairs which also trap the pathogens and prevent them from entering the body.
3. mucus traps pathogens
4. the stomach secrets HCl which is very acidic and can kill pathogens.
5. white blood cells do phagocytosis, which is the process of attaching to a foreign pathogen and engulfing
white blood cells (lymphocytes) also produces antibodies which bind to the antigens, preventing them from producing any more antigens
t-cells memorise the shape of the antigen in the pathogen, so that it acts faster the next time the pathogen comes back, preventing them from spreading
6. an antigen is a specific protein that is found on the surface of pathogens (? i think lol)
