    Thank you so much!!! I have been having issues with my 2014 Corolla since last year. There's been so many times when it's over 100 degrees outside and I'm just sitting on traffic, melting inside of the car since the A/C wouldn't work. Mech shops wanted a fortune just to fix something that you helped me fix easily within minutes.

    Does the resistor stink when it burns out? My 2004 has a burning electronic smell recently.

    • @YiannisPagonis
      @YiannisPagonis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A faulty resistor or a component that is rubbing in the blower could be causing this bad car smell. However, the issue could be worse. Burning smells can also indicate oil leaks in your engine, overheated brakes or clutches, or even hoses that are melting or burning.

    Hey bud great video, quick question I have a 2015 Corolla and the ac blower keeps going out. I replaced it twice works a few days then goes bad. What can be the problem? The resistor on the 2015 is already in the blower so it’s not a part I can change separately

    • @YiannisPagonis
      @YiannisPagonis  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My friend your blower resistor keeps going out: One of the biggest reasons for blower motor resistors to have shorten life is actually because of faulty blower motor drawing too many amps, some times melting wires/plugs, heating up resistors shortening their life.

No more noise now but i can't push it on the maximal speed. Any time, when i push it on the max speed it stop and it smell has an electric fire. I only have to switch of the fan and switch on again to restart it normaly until the two last speed bar on the LCD ... Do you think that it's a resistor default ? I dont know how i can test it ... ? if you have any answer it will be great !

      Why does my blower motor work sometimes?
      check the blower motor electrical connector for corrosion,loose wires in connector,maybe not be plugged all the way in? you could check the resistor. unplug it,look to see if connector is maybe melted/burnt. usually when the resistor goes,it will only work on high speed or 1 or 2 speeds only
      Symptoms of a Bad or Failing Heater Blower Motor
      Virtually all road going vehicles are equipped with a heating and air conditioning system that is designed to help keep the vehicle’s passengers comfortable. One of the components of that system is the heater blower motor. The blower motor serves as the main electric motor that is responsible for blowing air through the vents. It is usually controlled by the blower motor resistor and switch, and can operate at several different speeds to help regulate cabin temperatures.
      When the heater blower motor fails, the vehicle can be left without a properly functioning heating and air conditioning system, which apart from compromising comfort, can also disable useful functions such as the window defogger. Usually a bad or failing heater blower motor will produce a few symptoms that can alert the driver of a potential issue.
      1. Weak airflow from the vents
      One of the first symptoms of a potential problem with the vehicle’s heater blower motor is low airflow from the vents. If when the air or heat is turned on the vents blower noticeably less, or weaker air, that may be a sign that the heater blower motor is starting to wear out. A worn or weakened blower motor may not be able to provide adequate airflow to properly regulate the cabin temperature, and may also be approaching the end of its service life.
      2. Fan only blows at certain speeds
      Another symptom of a bad or failing heater blower motor is a motor that only functions at certain speeds. Most blower motors are designed to operate at different speeds in order to be able to regulate different cabin temperatures efficiently. If the blower motor fails to push air at any of it’s designed settings then it may be faulty. This can also be caused by a failed blower motor resistor or switch, so having the vehicle properly diagnosed is highly recommended.
      3. No air from the vents
      No air flow from the vents when the heater or air conditioning is activated is another symptom of a bad blower motor. If the heater blower motor burns out or short circuits, it will not function, and therefore will not be able to produce any airflow for the system. The blower motor will usually have to be replaced in order to restore proper operation to the system.
      A faulty blower motor can disable an otherwise fully functional heating and air conditioning system, which will make the driving experience less comfortable for the vehicle’s passengers. Failed blower motors often require taking apart the vehicle’s interior, so if you suspect that your vehicle’s blower motor may be having an issue, have the vehicle inspected by a professional technician, such as one from YourMechanic, to determine if the motor should be replaced.

      @@YiannisPagonis thanks another time for your detailled answer i'm going to do all the procedure to detect where is the problem. I think that i make a short cut when i unmount the motor blower and something burn in the resistor part. Unfortunaltly when i unmount the motor i miss to cut the circuit of the car... it's stupid because is dangerous the blower is very strong and it's stupid because you can burn electric parts of the system... 5:39 wait a minute you skipped something important, why wouldn't you explain weather that is a new and separate part your installing?! and possibly how to test if it's bad or needs replaced because I'm trying to figure out which part i need replaced, my blower fan quit running so what could it be? the resistor? relay or fuse? fan itself?

  • @mike814031
    @mike814031 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    5:42 why wouldn't you turn that resistor or whatever it is sideways so you could see it all the way around so you know what it should look like???

    Are you out of mind that you removed blower fan and conductor censor but reinstalled them without cleaning? What a joke 🤪

      It's not a joke. This video is purely a tutorial and its subject is the replacement of the blower motor and its resistance, as you can see from the title of the video.
